Hey guys, for some reason the latest updates are not getting pushed to me automatically. I'm not getting the prompt to update when I boot up GameEx like I normally would. I'm currently running 14.07 I believe. My question is, If I was was just to manually download the latest version I should be able to just install over my previous install and keep all my settings without having to uninstall/reinstall right? Also is there anything reason it would stop sending me the prompt to update automatically? Thanks

You guys are absolutely right I don't want to miss out on all the new features and the new Evolution I'm sure will be awesome. I have no doubts about getting help on these forums as you guys have been life savers on more than one occasion. So right now the game plan will be to clone both drive on the HTPC then use those drives to experiment with the upgraded and mess around with the new features. This way if things take a turn for the worst I can just revert back to the original drives.

Thanks for the reply guys. I knew it would be a risky upgrade being such a drastic change. I think I will hold off for a bit to see if Tom has any advise. If I do decide to eventually try to upgrade do you think creating a recovery point and doing a system restore back if there is a problem would work?

Hey guys, I'm a long time gameex user but due to a move I had to put my media center PC in storage and pretty much fell off the map for about 3 years. Finally the day has come when I've been able to get my media center all set up again. Its been so long I feel like I have to relearn almost everything I already spent endless hours setting up. The nice thing is before I packed up the media center I was able to get it set up pretty complete for my standards with over 35+ console, handheld & arcade emulators all with complete ROM libraries. I even set up all the assets w/ video snaps, box art ect... With that said I am currently running XBMC version 13.0 and gameex version 1.0.0.0 I would not mind staying on this version as I already know everything is working great. But now I see Tom was awesome enough to make a xbmc plugin I also use xbmc and would love to use this plugin so I'm tempted to upgrade to a newer version of gameex like 13.26 so I can use the xbmc plugin but also don't want to risk something going wrong with the update or some of my emulators becoming incompatible as it's been years since my gameex has updated? Do you guys think I could have any issues upgrading or am I just being paranoid? Also if any of you guys are using xbmc with the gameex plugin and can let me know how it works I would really appreciate it? Good to have gameex up and running again! Thanks guys

I have a single monitor setup. Running Windows 7 64. If i setup this emulator to send the ESC key wont it do it for all games and not just TTGM? i just wonder if i do that will it mess with other games that i already have working? As for the advance config i'm not sure what programs you are talking about or how to add them? i also noticed you said i have to set the advanced config to watch "game.exe' and 'loader.exe' but i'm really not sure how to do this either? i think this may solve my problems with KOF XII and TTGM. is There a way to send the command to drag one .exe file to another .exe file in Gameex? This is the only way i can get a few of the games to run.

So i decided to give it another go Setting up Taito. I just couldn't let this be the only emulator to get the best of me LoL. i have 20 of the available games & all of them run fine when using the ArcadePC Loader 1.3. the problem is getting them all to run in Gameex. so far of the 20 games i can only get 14 to play through Gameex. i'm am using the create shortcut *LNK method (thanks Adultery) so ill try and detail the problems i'm having with the remaining 6 games: BLAZBLUE CALAMITY TRIGGER: I cant find a .exe/.bat file that will launch the game with out the ArcadePC Laoder. if i use launcher.exe i get i/o error. i tried different compatibly modes with no luck. the only way i can launch this game without the ArcadePC Loader is to drag the launcher.exe file to the typex_loader.exe file. not sure how i could duplicate that command to make it work in Gameex? SPICA ADVENTURE: If i try to run using the game.exe file the game gets stuck on a loop on the first screen where it says loading on the bottom right of the screen. This game will work fine if i drag the game.exe file to the typex_loader.exe file. Again not sure how i could duplicate that command to make it work in Gameex? KOF XIII: Works outside Gameex if launch with the loader.bat file so i made a shortcut of this file. but if i try to launch through Gameex it will try to load but then kick me back to Gameex. This game also works outside Gameex if i drag the game.exe file to the typex_loader.exe file. TETRIS THE GRAND MASTER 3: Will load outside Gameex with either the TGM3.exe or TGM3.bat files. I tried creating shortcuts of both and launching through Gameex but neither shortcut worked. Gameex will try to load but then kick me back to Gameex. this game will also load outside Gameex if i drag the game.exe file to the typex_loader.exe file. POWER INSTINCT 5: The only problem im having with this game is once it loads the d-pad on both controllers go crazy and i cant control them. Making it impossible to select the character you want. all the other buttons seem to work fine. i tried mapping the buttons using both old & new style configurations with no luck. I wonder if i may have to use xpadder for this game. OTOMEDIUS: This game only works if i load the bms_GGG.exe first and then load otomedius.exe while bms_GGG.exe is still running in background. Not sure how to duplicate this in the command line for Gameex. Also i'm attaching my Taito Type X .ini. If anyone could help me iron out the rest these issues i would greatly appreciate it. i would love to get these last 6 games working. Thanks Taito.txt

Yes i have a 1080P display and i set the resolution to 1920 x 1080. Of course only i would have these weird problems that nobody eles has. Well guess no Taito for me

Thanks for the guide Adultery it's very detailed and helpful. One issue i'm having though. On some games it will load the game fine but when i hit ESC key to exit for some reason my resolution is messed up being changed to 1280 x 720 and i have to manually change it back to 1920 x 1080 from the windows display control panel. i'm am running windows 7 64. its doing this for most games but not all. Battle Fantasia is one game that seems to work fine when i exit yet SFIV i have to manually change the resolution back to normal? is anyone else having this issue? p.s. i'm doing all testing with the ArcadePC Loader. I'm not running through Gameex yet because i haven't gotten that far. I'm wanna figure out this resolution issue before i set the games up in Gameex.

@hansolo77 Cool thanks for the reply. I did see the winui.mak file and was thinking of trying it but never did. so I will give that a try later.

im having issue with step 6. "copy the MameUI.mak to C:\MinGW\source\MameUI0136u3" i dont see a file called "MameUI.mak" in the MameUI source? i tried to compile without it and the games seems to work but i cant set up my controls. i don't even see a folder for "ctrlr" or "cfg" files in the compiled mameUI install folder like it should be. i must be missing something?

whats up guys ive been playing a lot of MAME games lately and i don't really like that i have to create save states to save my high scores. i have read some MAME versions support high scores. Can anyone recommend a good version of MAME that will save my high scores? thanks

Hey whats up everyone here i go again with the zinc questions lol. I have decided i would like to set up Zinc as its own emulator outside of mame. i am using Dfreaks Zinc GUI ver.1.9.5 to map all the keys to my xbox 360 controller so im guessing i would need to launch Dfreakes Zinc GUI from gameex so all my keys stay mapped? i have read it can be a bit tricky to setup zinc without native support but i could not find any real guides or anything. can anyone please point me to a guide/thread i may have missed or help me out in anyway? my main problem is always the command line? thanks gameex zinc ini.txt
