Of course, for me it's ok!

Ehi Draco, you hit the spot! No need to change the theme (fortunately), it was all a matter of cache files. I never guessed the cache could regard radio stations, I thought it was only emulator-related. Thank you Draco, and thanks to fRequEnCy and Tom for your interest, really appreciated.
-
So it could be theme-related? Actually I'm using Black Glass theme. Now I'm out of my place but this night I will try switching to the default theme and and then report the results. Alpha.

Hello! How can I access to the huge amount of radio stations available? When I click the 'Genre' button nothing happens... Please give me advice... Cheers, Alpha. EDIT: Ooops! Sorry Tom! I forgot to say thanks for this new release. Radio stations is one of my favourite feature in GameEx.

Hello! Just wonder to know what to do to clean or reset the "Most played" and "Last played" list. Which files should be deleted or cleaned if I want to reset the list? Cheers, Alpha.

It's very promising and attractive, but, as the description itself says, it's in a very early stage of development. By the way, how many hardware resources it requires?
-
This time I'm the fist to say thanks!! (joke) By the way, is it safe to install the latest version over the previous one (I mean without uninstalling before)? Until now, I used to uninstall before installing the new version. I wonder If I can save some time installing directly the new version over the existing one... Cheers, Alpha.

I'm glad you are ok now! Play a lot with C64 (you know.. I'm a C64 addicted... eheehe ).

Thank you fReq! Now the issue is solved (I did as you suggested above)! Cheers and thanks, Alpha!

Yeahhh!! Good suggenstion! Actually I looked into the database and saw almost all TOSEC, No-intro atc fields are empty. I'll try to fill those fileds with my rom name. I will post the result. EDIT: Indeed yours is an excellent suggestion! I've just tried to fill the database with the entry about the first of my games and... taaa daaa! The informations appear! I have just a 65 games to fill, so for me isn't an hassle. But if we consider that for this system there aren't tosec or no-intro set, and that the names are almost identical all over the world (the only difference that bumped in my mind is Resident Evil published in Japan as Bio Hazard), if we copy the content of the first column (Name) in the second column (GoodName) we should do the trick. (Pause) I just did it. Let me try...

I've just tested my Gamebase setup and I have the latest version of both GB and GameEx, just to be sure, and I can confirm that GameEx works as expected with no problems. I looked your files and noticed nothing bad. More important, your GameEx.ini shows that your GB should be up and running, as indeed is, as long as GameEx sees roms and other things. So, please wait for Tom and the other more experienced users to have a look into this. But in the meantime, I can give a couple of suggestions and questions: 1) Are you sure your Gamebase setup works fine outside of GameEX? 2) You say you are using more than one database. Does this mean that you have set up more that 1 system in Gamebase? Which systems are they? Actually, I configured Gamebase to work only with GBC_07 (Commodore 64 collection). I don't know if this is relevant, but maybe GameEx get confused if it finds other system than GBC. Try with GBC only, using the default database. Actually you can't. GameEx shows only the first one. Alpha.

Yesterday I forgot to clean the cache. I did it today, but it didn't work. It seems that GameEx skips to read the Playstation database. Maybe this is due to the fact that I have the roms as link (*.lnk) in order to launch ePSXeCutor? Does this matter for GameEx? I can see the list, artworks etc. My "fake" ROMS are well named, so what could be the reason? It seems to be a bug in GameEx, but can someone who uses Playstation system confirm that at least it's not a bug? Tom, could you take a look at this, please? Regards, Alpha.

Ok, I managed to get a decent configuration by my own. Basically I created a config file telling GameEx to wait for ePSXe to close before returning to menu. It works. Now I have another problem: although I set up my emulator to use the database for Playstation, GamEx doesn't read it, so I can't have all the informations and infos about games. This is very annoying. Instead of upload my whole ini, here is the relevant part of it: [Emulator_12] Enabled=True System=Sony Playstation Category=Console Emulator=ePSXe Version=1.70 Rating= DownloadUrl=http://www.gamesdbase.com/setupwizard/emulators/download/epsxe.7z RequiredFiles=scph1001.bin (512kb) Website=http://www.epsxe.com/ Info=Sony Playstation Emulator TitleText=Sony Playstation StartPageName=Sony Playstation StartPageLogo=Sony Playstation Command=""[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"" RomFilter= Database=[Console] Sony Playstation ConfigFile=ePSXeCutor MapFile= RomPath=F:\GIOCHI\PSOne\Links SnapPath=F:\GIOCHI\PSOne\Snaps TitlePath=F:\GIOCHI\PSOne\Titles BoxPath=F:\GIOCHI\PSOne\Boxes CartPath= ManualPath=F:\GIOCHI\PSOne\Manuals ControlPanelPath= WorkingPath=C:\Programmi\Emulatori\PSOne\ePSXe MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys=6000 SendKeys={F5} ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False AlsoLaunch= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground=Playstation.png PlayMusic=False DontShowInfo= PlaySelectionMusic=False SelectionMusicFolder= PCGame=False GamesIn7Zips=False PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=True RandomMostPlayed=False CDCheck=False CDCheckFile= RomsInFolders=False lastgame= CustomArtName1=CD CustomArtPath1=F:\GIOCHI\PSOne\CDs CustomArtName2=Pubblicita' CustomArtPath2=F:\GIOCHI\PSOne\Adverts I hope someone helps me resolving this issue with the database. Cheers, Alpha.

Hello! I'm about to finish my GamEx setup, only PSOne system is left. Obviously, I've read all the topics already present here on the forum, and indeed they are very instructive and interesting. Although they are not my cup of tea, since all those topics are focused on how to manage and launch ISOs. I don't have the hard disk space nor the time to convert my entire collection to disk images, so I would try to manage them via GameEx directly from CDs. I use ePSXe 1.7.1 via ePSXeCutor. So I have a couple of questions: 1) How do I create the fake ROMS so that GameEx can list them in the emulator menu? Should I create shortcuts with ePSXeCutor and put them in the ROMs folder? But am I correct in supposing that there are problems for GameEx managing ePSXe with ePSXeCutor (something like processes not closed, IIRC)? 2) Which is the best way to configure ePSXeCutor in GameEx, and, if there isn't any, which is the best way in general? 3) Could you post please your PSOne system config from GameEx.ini so that I can take a look? 4) There is something else I should know? Ok, that's all for now and thanks for reading. Waiting for your reply, cheers, Alpha.

Hello, I'm a Gamebase user but maybe I don't understand exactly what you mean, since the only thing that is necessary to do is enable Gamebase support in the Setup Wizard (as I did): GameEx will recognize the database and roms and will launch the game automatically. I don't use custom menus so I can't say if this screws GameEx up or not. You could try to delete GBC from custom menus and see if it works. First, make sure Gamebase has been setup correctly and verify that it works well outside GameEx. Second, post as an attachment your log file which is located in GameEx\LOGS directory and your GameEx.ini which can be found in GamEx\CONFIG. Upload them as txt files due to the fact that the forum doesn't allow to upload ini file. Cheers, Alpha.
-
Glad I could help you! Not only you can modify/correct your set up via Setup Wizard without messing up anything, you can try things and make experiments as long as you want, provided that you keep a copy of GameEx.ini (that you can find in GameEx\CONFIG\ directory) in a safe place. In case you mess up something, you can always revert everything to your good previous configuration overwriting that file. I say this just in case you aren't aware of it, if you are, forgive me. Cheers, Alpha.

You can use the AdvanceConfigEditor.exe, bundled into GameEx installation. This way you can create a customized mapping file for each of your emulators. Then you have to select that mapping file in the Setup Wizard or in the GameExConfig to make sure your emultator actually uses that file. These programs should be (almost) self-explanatory. Post here if you have any problems. Note that you can use X-Padder for that matter. Personally I don't use it, but I've heard a lot of good things about it. Or you can change GameEx "pause" key always using Setup Wizard, to avoid this conflict. Look for Keyboard Input and Advanced Keyboard Input, and assign that function to another key. P.S. : Make sure to avoid any mapping conflict between your emulator-related commands and your customized mapping file, i.e. avoid to assign the same key both to emulator and GameEx. Cheers, Alpha.

I had a similar issue. In my case the "culprits" were the ATI video drivers. EDIT: Even now I have some programs that interfere with refresh rate and video renderer with some emulators and GameEx, each trying to get focus over the others. The result is indeed a flashing screen, or a black screen. Try to close all the unused programs and go to GameEx. Anyway, please post your log and your ini.

Always indefatigable. Thanks!

And for users who want to stay with older versions of MAME?

@ Tom: Excuse me, I know that the following is a worthless issue but, you know, I am a perfectionist (even if I can live with little issues like this). So forgive me, I guess this is a distraction you can correct in a blink of an eye. If not, forgive me. In short, when I listen to Snes music (that one with the video effects and so on), in the notation below, which should show you the name of the file GameEx is playing, the last bracket is omitted. For example, a mp3 file (I mean not only the music file, but the rom and the remaining artwork too) has been named: Game (USA) [i use No-intro notation scheme]. But in let-me-call-it "Music Screen" I read: Game (USA without the last bracket. Even if I can't imagine a reason why this is happening only to me, please all you users let me know if the same occurs to you too, so I can check things in my setup. I've written this just to report, this is a very meaningless issue, obviously I appreciate GameEx sooo much: my compliments Tom! Cheers, Alpha.

Hello everybody! I resume this old thread 'cause I'm having the same issue, at least with "Last played" ("Most played is disabled"). Last played list won't update anymore. Any suggestion?
-
This is very similar to an issue that I have with the game list (I see it in all versions since I started to use GameEx). For example, suppose I have: Game A Game B Game C Etc... If I scroll down to the the list and select the last item (I mean the last visible item at the moment), go to the game info and run the game, and then return to the game list, I often find that the game highlighted is the previous one: in the example above, if I select Game C, run the game and then return to the game list, I often find Game B highlighted, as if I had chosen that item. As bkenobi said this isn't a critical thing, I write here just to say that there could be a common problem around.
