  1. Yes, definitely lots of variables with different computers/mames/video cards/etc. Here's a couple snaps it took no matter where I'm at in the game. Its always the same snap. I'm not running a second monitor. Edit - as I look closely at these 2 I see a difference now. Definitely not what was happening when I took the same though. Let me try some more testing. Edit2 - These screenshots were old and not the correct ones so I deleted these in this post.
  2. Sorry, I've been sick this week with some sort of eye virus or something that's really been messing with me. I don't use gamextender. I tested again for a couple hours again this morning and can't get cpwizard and the snapper to work together like I'd like. I can get one or the other but not both at the same time. I reverted back to my compiled mame without direct input as that is the only way I can get cpwizard working for me. Interestingly, after I put back in no-direct input mame, I tried the snapper and it appeared to be working. It would make the camera sounds and make jpegs. However, when looking at the snaps, they all the same and aren't actually making a snap of whats on the screen but just show a title snap or something all identical. I looked in my mame snaps folder and don't see where its getting it from so I don't know what's happening here. I also tried to just pushing F12 in mame and that is not working for me either. I see in the mame general inputs that its set to kbd F12 not alt not shift or similar and I haven't changed this so I don't know why that doesn't work. I can push a normal printscreen on the keyboard and paste it in a document so that's what I've got for now. I'm not sure if that's acceptable to submit as a high score or not if I can even get any. I also loaded up wolfmame and got that working but I'd still have to do just a windows printscreen.
  3. I've made some progress with the Snapper and CPWizard not conflicting anymore but I'm having trouble with CPWizard now when using the showkey. Basically, I've got my settings like smario shows which is the Method 1 default way to setup CPWizard per Headkaze's website. I've got Mame setup to pause by a keyboard 'p' and in CPWizard I've got the showkey setup to '6' so as method 1 notes show I've got these different which is required. I now can't get CPwizard to work like it should though and it also seems inconsistent. I'm losing focus as CPWizard pops up then goes away. When I shut down GameEx, CPWizard is there in the background. Anyone run into a CPWizard or another program focus issue with GameEx? I've tried various settings and can't get it right. I'll do some more research on this but any help is appreciated. Thanks
  4. I unchecked 'Screenshot' but there's still a conflict. I don't really know what all those check boxes are but CPWizard only works for me the way I have it configured.
  5. I turned off CPWizard and the snapper is working so definitely there's some sort of conflict there. I tried different CPWizard detect pause settings/etc but couldn't get anything to work. I'm hoping someone has their setup working with CPWizard and the Snapper somehow. Here's what I was using for CPWizard that works without the snapper.
  6. I can't get any snaps to be made. When I push the shift-home combo, Mame pauses then starts pulling up CP-Wizard's Mame menu then closes that and puts me back to the play this game list. I see in the log its trying to put a snap in a hidden directory. It seems like this might be a folder permission issue with where its supposed to put the snap but I don't see a problem in that folder. What do I need to change? Settings.xml GameEx.ini
  7. I put in a few good words for GameEx at the BYOAC Mala forum. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,142758.msg1498229.html#msg1498229
  8. I've got the first mod done with extending out the control panel so there's more room for legs and feet and I can lean back in my chair farther. I brought it out about 8". I cut the other flat control panel board that they ship with the unit to fill in this 8" gap. This feels much more comfortable for me now so I'm pretty happy with how this came out. Check out CP wizard running which I love. Thanks to Headkaze for that awesome program. Here's some new pics.
  9. Thanks guys. I'm pretty happy with it although I do have some modifications planned. First mod will be to bring the controller out a little more about 6-8" so I can have a little more foot room and can lean back in my chair more while playing. Second mod will be to come up with some sort of quick monitor removal setup. I'd like to have this because I want to put a custom bezel under the plexiglass and I want easy access to clean the plexiglass back there. Our dogs are shedding real bad right now and there is dog hair that needs to go.
  10. Ok I did some testing on my EMS lightguns and had some frustrations with trying to calibrate them. I had them working better before on my old cab, but they're going in the box for now. After thinking about it, I realized that definitely if I wanted to setup these 2 lightguns, and since they are mouse inputs, then I would need the controllerremap and I would have to enable multimouse. The 2 lightguns would have to be 2 different mouse inputs. For now, I'll just go to Dave and Busters to play the gun games. Since I won't be using the lightguns, I can keep multimouse off and won't need to use controllerremap. Next up to test, either my old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick or my old Logitech Driving Force GT Racing Wheel/Pedals.
  11. So it seems that if I don't enable multimouse then I won't need controllerremap. I'll have to do more testing. I'll test out my lightguns and my racing wheel setup.
  12. When would the controllerremap utility be needed in Mame? I used to have problems with controllers remapping and have to setup them up again all the time, Mouse1, Mouse2, etc but that was when I had my EMS topguns hooked up. I used to also have a PS2 mouse hooked up in my old cab. I haven't decided If I'm going to hook up the Topguns again. Right now, I've only got 3 mouse inputs on my setup - usb xarcade tankstick trackball, usb wireless mouse, and usb spinner. They all show as Mouse X and Mouse Y and they work as far as I can tell. I don't have multimouse enabled. I'm assuming when I enable multimouse then I'll need the controllerremap utility. When do you need to enable multimouse?
  13. I've got my new cabinet mostly completed. Actually there wasn't much for me to do. All I needed to do was to shell out some money to RecRoomMasters and Best Buy and put it all together. I decided to go with a sit-down style cabinet as I like my feet on the floor. I've got a couple of bar stools and just don't like them. I could never finish and didn't want to work on my previous cabinet anymore so that's why I went with purchasing an arcade cabinet kit. I'm extremely satisfied with the kit and how it looks and feels. The kit was very easy to put together, is a quality product, and RecRoomMasters was great to purchase from. I didn't see it anywhere on their website or any pictures on the internet but I asked for the red T-molding instead of standard black and Wayne said no problem and didn't charge anything extra. I've got some upgrades in mind already for the future like adding a bezel in between the monitor and the plexiglass, making my own larger custom control panel, adding the atomic style mame logos on each side, modifying the monitor mount so I can swing out the monitor or take it out completely. The monitor is actually just an Insignia 32" LED TV that I bought from Best Buy that does 1920 x 1080. I already had the X-Arcade Tankstick from the old cabinet which I modified about 4-5 years ago. I posted images of my old half-finished upright cab and my new sit-down cab. The old cab will be going on Craigslist so hopefully it finds a good home and gets finished fully. I am now playing on my Arcade Machine and feeling pretty good about it. No more crappy half-finished project sitting there for 4-5 years - my Wife is very happy too. Actually, now I need to finish the basement. Thanks to all the people here as I'm really liking GameEx.
  14. The integrated Mame is really easy to setup and I've got that working great and has many benefits over non-integrated as others posted about above. I'll be playing my games in the integrated mame so that's definitely the way to go. I wanted to setup a non-integrated Mame to be able to see all of the 29,000 or so games in the full Mame list. I like to follow the devs websites and see what the're working on and progress made. I also saw a couple roms that are missing in the integrated mame, (race drivin and hard drivin), even though I've got all options set to display everything so I can look at things like that as well. I finally got it working after much testing. I ran mame from the dos cmd prompt and it wasn't working there for me. After some testing and googling I got it working from the cmd prompt and then in GameEx. I would still like to clear up the path syntax problem after -rompath to make it clean. I'm wondering if I'm scanning the rom path twice with my setup. Here's what I came up with: Rom Path: C:\Emulators0 - Mame Roms\roms Command Line: MAME.exe [ROM] -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo -mouse -ctrlr X-Arcade -rompath "C:\Emulators0 - Mame Roms\roms" Thanks for the comments and help.
  15. What is the command line to setup Mame as an emulator non-integrated? I've got it setup as integrated already but I also want it as a separate emulator as well. I've tried command lines: MAME.exe [ROM] MAME.exe [ROM] -ROMPATH=[ROMPATH] I also tried a few other things but no luck. I'm pretty sure my rom path is correct. All the games are listed but when I launch a game it looks like it launches but after a second or two it comes right back to the launch menu.. I saw an older screenshot that it used to be in the Emulator Selection Menu in the Setup Wizard but its not there anymore. I'm running the latest GameEx release. I attached my GameEx.ini. Thanks GameEx.ini
  16. Thanks for the info Draco.
  17. Thanks for the help hansolo77 - I appreciate it.
  18. I think I'm not going to put Nebula in my setup this time. I tested some Metal Slug games in Mame and they ran great so I'm hoping Mame will work good for all of the games in Nebula. Maybe that's why El Semi hasn't updated this emu in a long time.
  19. I tried to map my middle mouse button in the Global Exit but there is not a mouse mapping option in there. Actually I don't see anywhere in GameEx that I can use this mouse button. There is a mouse mapping function in the Advanced Config Editior which then gives MButton. I used to use an AHK script for Mala that I setup to run on computer startup for this Mbutton to then map it to escape. Attached is my old AHK. Since I've got the emulator shutting down now properly I want to use the MButton for something else. Maybe pull up an external app or something cool. Any suggestions? Is there any way to get the MButton to do something that I want special in GameEx but not in an emulator? EscapeButton.ahk.txt
  20. I finally got it working. Here's what I did: - Turned on the Enable escape key exit to yes in the Global exit section. - Kept the map keys to Off in the emulator section. I don't know if this matters or not or if it depends on if the advanced config setup is running. - Kept the Exit Alt-F4 combo. The Enter doesn't matter in this emu. - Put a checkmark in the Map Escape box in the advanced config setup. - Turned off Joy Mapping and Game Pad Exit in the advanced config setup. Still to do: - Map my specially added tankstick middle mouse button to shut down Emu's. Also: I took a shot of my tankstick that shows my modifications I did 3-4 years ago. I changed to colored buttons, added another button from the trackball assembly middle button that they didn't include, added a spinner, and moved buttons around. I'm going to get a custom designed skin overlay soon from recroommasters once I get my new cab and design an overlay graphic.
  21. Thanks for the info.
  22. I run in a cab only but I'm in between cabs right now. My new cab from recroommasters is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. My new 32" widescreen TV for the new cab max support is 1920 x 1080 but I haven't seen it in action yet. I'm just setting up GameEx on the computer right now so don't know what resolution will be best. My old cab used 1024 x 768 on a 24" widescreen. I was guessing that I'd just use 1024 x 768 again, but I'm not really sure yet.
  23. I still can't get this to work for me. I've done lots of trial and error but no luck. I use an X-arcade tankstick and have moved the 2 lowest buttons on each side up to the top of the controller to use as other functions. I want to use the Oem6 button to close the Model 2 emulator and go back to GameEx. I use a keyboard just for setting things up and testing but will only use the tanstick during normal play. While in Model 2 thru GameEx, I can push the Alt-F4 combo on my keyboard and this works perfectly. In a nutshell, while in Model 2 thru GameEx, I want to push my Oem6 button, which will then send an Alt-F4 combo, to close model 2 and go back to GameEx. How do I set this up? I'm definitely missing something here. Thanks GameEx.ini custominput.ini Mapping Off Exit (ALT+F4).ini
  24. I really do like that Brokeh theme you made. Maybe you could make an enhanced Brokeh v2 with some better features. Which themes do you suggest?
  25. As a follow-up I did see that the slot machines are not auto-filtered out so that is good. Thanks
