okey tryed using zinc.exe and no go it just returns to gameex looks like im gonna have to resort to selecting the game then again from the zincgui SM

my desire is to be able to select a game from gameex and it run without it showing the zincgui games available list and me having to select it again from that. All other parts work fine the esc back to gameex works fine.

I have zincgui working and the games work fine, i have installed it as an emulator on its own in gameex loaded the zincmap and put all the roms in they all work outside of gameex an in gameex the only problem is when i select a game from gameex menu for example dead or alive ( DOA ) gameex shows the zincgui with the games listed if i click doa it loads the rom and playes perfectly when i press ESC it goes back to gameex perfectly, so how do i pass getting the zincgui showing after i have selected a game from the gameex menu? as frequency mentioned it must be a case of getting the command line correct but what it is? My command line is : zincgui.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" -use-config-file=zinc.cfg. if it means i have to select the game twice i can live with that cos everythink elseworks a treat. SM

Got zincgui running all keys mapped etc... only prob is when i select the game in gammex it shows the guilist of games i have to click a game again to run? how do i get gameex to now show this? im assuming its in the command line? zincgui [romname\rompath] somethink like dont show list? SM

Tom, Im not going to disagree with what yours saying its just what i did solved my problem or are you saying it was a bug with certain gfx cards? Ian.

[ RESOLVED ] Indeed you have sorted it, and it is where you said...odd because i can definately remember my cab gameex showing akkanbedder under A and not under space invaders 95, odd but resolved so many thanks. I will check out headkaze's site about compiling mame . btw Ii was also called "Space Invaders '95 Attack of the Lunar Loonies" which was the english version, maybe akkenvader is the Japan version. from google, there is a utube video of somebody playing it too lol. Today, I'm taking a look at one of them, Taito's Akkanvader from 1995. It's colorful, cute, and best of all, fun! Ive downloaded ui 141u2 from your link it shows 10243 roms available but still no akkanbedder or akkenvader shown ?? its shows ajax then onto al capone no ak... so im stumped as to what im doing wrong??? my specs are.. GameEx: Version 11.55 Windows XP Operating System Version: 5.1.2600 AMD Athlon XP 1900+ running at 1.47ghz, 1534MB ram would be nice to have a compiled version so thanks SM

Odd im using 0.141.u2 and akkanvader or akkenbeder doesnt show in the list of roms even though i have the romin the rom dir, and over 10000 show up dont suppose you could post yours ( mame ) for me to download? SM

[ RESOLVED ] Thanks to all who offered advise, have found the problem after draco mentioned about the gfx i opened up cab and found that the cooling for for the gfx card was not working so obviusly was over heating and crashing, which is why i got it at different times, have installed a 125meg ati card and is now running sweet( over an hour so far! ). Many thanks.

It crashes at different times and cant do a system restore as i installed a new hard drive downloaded 11.55 and installed that. but here is a different crash different log file.

Not really a gameex question, but im sure i can get an answer here Can anyone tell me what version of mame they are using in order to have the following games working? akkanvdr, defender, robotron, and donkeykong. thanks.

Im having so many problems with the latest version of gameex that keeps crashing my cab after a few seconds running so i wont to go back to an earlier version ie.11.50 that was stable but cant seem to find it can anyone point me in the right direction ( i am a registered user and have paid for the key etc...) Yeah, i have noticed that but it would mean downloading every version of mame to see which work lol ! dont fancy doing that I keep googling and see if i can find any. SM

Is there a site or a way of finding out which version of mame runs what games? im trying to find a version that runs akkanvader to name a few, i know that i can run several versions of mame threw gameex ( thanks to draco62)but im not not sure what version the idea is to be able to cross reference and find a version that plays all the game i want. Iknow most people will say just download the latest version but that doesnt allways work as in akkanvader it doesnt even appear on the the 10000+ games list!. SM

hi guys, Maybe a stupid question but is it possible for GameEx to run multi versions of mame, by that i mean certain versions of mame run some games other versions dont for example the new mame 142u2 dont run akkanvader a game the kids love but i know an older version did, so is it possible to get gameex to specify which version it uses for certain games??? ?? This doesnt make sence are you classing each gamne as an emulator, because most emulators give you a list that you select the game from.

Have you tried running it in gameex windowed ? in case there is a windows error or gameex error screen behind as i had this problem where windows has given an error,i had the black screen and could here the game running.

Thanks, Ive checked at its deffo 86 roms i have. maybe i have a duplicate or summit or maybe miss read a rom name or clicked an extra rom file when coping over from mame, id better check it, then i may just try and set it up via gameex and tinker with that, will give you a shout when i get stuck. pmsl ! Thanks fRequEnCy!...im going to start using that too as i have 8900+ roms and lot are either total rubbish ( could use a harsher work but respect stops me lol ) or unemulated, run very slow or arnt emulated correctly so by using nonmame i should be able to tweek away...looks like im in for a few rather LONG late weeks ahead !
