  1. Added another 4 gigs and installed a Geforce GT220 video card to the machine. It helped quite a bit. When larger SSD drives get cheaper I'll move everything to one SSD drive rather than havind gameex on one and the roms/assets on a regular drive. So far so good.
  2. I have everything installed and running with Windows 10 now. Everything seems to be fine but it seems a lot more sluggish going from menu items to menu items. Loading games causes a pause of about 8 seconds and adding/deleting favorites about the same. I do have a large amount of games (4000) but I do not recall the win 7 build doing this. I am running AMD dual core E1-2100 dual core with 4 gigs. Probably has something to do with it. I am running the Gameex program off of an SSD with the ROM/Assets on a normal HD.
  3. Did a clean install last night with the latest RTM build that is supposed to be upgraded to release. Like you said. took no time and found every driver I needed. Loaded Gameex and will configure it tonight. I have 3 arcade machine and all of them are set up identical as far as paths are concerned so that should make it a little easier.
  4. Good to hear. I am only running Daphne and Mame so that is good news!
  5. My Bartop Windows 7 machine crapped out with a corrupt OS. I thought it was the HD but it passes all tests. So not I need to load another OS and am tempted to use Windows 10. I cant find my MB driver disk and dont really feel like trying to find the drivers. I installed the windows 10 preview and it found everything. Very impressed. Do you think I will be ok using it with Gameex? I assume on the 29th I will be able to grab the release via download. When I installed the preview it showed not activated and would not allow me to activate it. What do you guys think?
  6. That looks great! Nice work.
  7. I turned on my arcade this morning and saw an update pending. It seems to be having trouble loading. Comes right back to the hit ok to update prompt. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks and Merry Christmas...
  8. I have a friend of a friend that makes cabinets for a living. I am amazed at the precision of his cuts and joints. He does it with no effort too...
  9. I was going to go with Pine slats with a reddish mahogany stain but am open to anything. Instead of the aluminum control panel that he use I am leaning toward a solid wood control panel. This is going to be an end table when not used to play games so I am thinking of the solid wood look throughout. As for the tear out - yes I had some. Sanded it down and plan on using those sides on the inside. I used an 80 tooth blade but it is an older one that I used for a variety of different woods so it has seen a better day I am leaning on using T moulding myself too......
  10. Thanks you that comment! Precision is usually my weak suit. When you are talking about the edge banding - do you mean the rolled banding that you can get at HD?
  11. Started working on this today. http://www.instructables.com/id/Furniture-grade-cocktail-arcade-cabinet/ Thanks for the post on here pointing me towards it. At first I was thinking no way.....looks too hard and will require too much wood working skills. Well I was surprised. Cuts were very easy to make. Only needs a little over 1/2 a sheet of plywood for the entire project. I went with Oak. His plan calls for MDF and painting it flat black. I am wondering how staining the oak and nice finish of clear coat would look - surrounded with the mahogany slats instead of the black finish. I am going with a 19 inch LCD arcade monitor that I ordered from Holland Computers. Covered with a piece of nice 3/8 inch glass. Will have all week to think about it
  12. The cocktail bar is pretty cool. Very creative.
  13. I am going to tackle the one from Instructables. Very unique. Thanks for the tip!
  14. Prefect - Just what I was looking for. Thanks!
  15. Yahoo I saw those. Not much on detail though. Thanks for the tip though...
  16. I want to start a new project and build an arcade cocktail machine. Lot of examples are out there and I can pick up a kit for about $375 but I would like to build it myself. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find plans for building one. It looks relatively easy as far as woodworking goes but I prefer to use proven measurements. Thanks in advance...
  17. I see. That helps. Thanks....!
  18. I have a question....on other sites I see a lot of folks mention DAT files. Some posters share dat files and are looking for roms to complete their dat files. what exactly is a dat file? How is it used?
  19. Ordered a jamma card recently with 600 plus games on it. Mainly just to tinker with. Has any one used one to build their cab? Wasn't sure on the front end or how customizable they are. It looks like once I get the harness wired you simply change the card to get different games.
  20. I have a tankstick and a spinner installed on it. So 8 buttons, trackball an spinner.
  21. I am curious, what games from Steam integrate well into a cabinet? I have a lot of Steam games but haven't spent the time yet to get it working with Gameex. Was assuming that getting PC games to work well in a cab would not be an easy feat.
  22. Thanks. I didn't think about an app... I'll give it a try..
  23. Hi - Recently installed sling front on my wall mounted touch screen juke box. Is sling front workable without a keyboard or mouse? The reason I ask is that the sling player web app also shows my remote for uverse and I am able to navigate with touch. When I logged into my player with sling front it is on the press ok to watch tv with no way to hit ok because the remote is not there.
  24. I had the same issue. Gameex Launch fixed it for me. Placed it in my startup folder and set it for 15 seconds. No problems since then. Another thing to check - programs prompting you to update them can steal windows focus also. Java comes to mind as one that kept popping up.
  25. Not sure if this has been kicked around or not yet. I have 3 mame arcade machines (I know, I'm strange - I just enjoy building them and tinkering with them) Anyways, it would be neat to be able to have all 3 of the cabs sync the hi score files somehow. When you set a high score on one it will show on the other. It could be done manually pretty easy but it would be great if Gameex could keep them synced somehow. The newest file date would over write the other older hi score files.
