  1. MAME comes with a nag screen. In order to get "rid" of the nag screen, you'll need to compile your version of MAME with MAME Compiler. A great tool that will compile both vanilla MAME and MAMEUI (both 32 and 64bit) made by headkaze.
  2. Right on Draco! Congrats!
  3. The Spectum was probably way out of my families reach money wise at the time. We had a Tandy 1000 instead.
  4. As Nullpointer said, it is a great way to add other than the "normal" snaps, Titles and video snaps. I have in game, and even some ending snaps for certain roms. Works great but you do have to set a different directory or the snap will try to overwrite the one with the same name.
  5. Thanks Adultery, I'll give this a try. See how it works with my DOS games.
  6. This community is kick @ss and everyone here helps out to the fullest extent that they possibly can. This is why I choose, and stay GameEx.
  7. Hello and welcome! You can put the roms or emulators in whichever folder on whatever drive, as long as you tell GameEx where to go to look for them. If you configure MAME, for instance, you have to get MAME up and running outside of GameEx so it knows where to look for ROMS. Then, within the Setup Wizard you can assign the paths for the roms and artwork and GameEx will know exactly where to go for those items. Same applies to other emulators. Best thing to do is, set em up outside of GameEx, then configure in the Wizard the paths.
  8. ^ That Atomiswave bak looks slick man. My next cab has to be a candy cab style. When we gonna see a release Krak?
  9. If you just use the folder tree that Future Pinball provides then you should be in good shape as it generally finds the needed files as in the structure. However, I do have some .fpl files in my actual ROMS/Tables folder that FP seems to find and launch without hesitation. Of course I use a .fpt file extention in the emulator config but it all works on my end. Maybe also some of the table .fpl files aren't up to date for the table your trying to play.

    Overrated Games

I honestly prefer the 80's style sidescrolling button mashing point getting games over anything newer. To be honest, I'm not into any of the FPS/COD type games. Halo 1, the Doom series and Portal (1 and 2) is it really. I've played FPS for real, with real bullets. Gasp! Playing it at home as a game, isn't my cup. But by golly, I hold a high score record that can't be beat at Galaga. Sorry, back to the topic. Overratted - Twighlight Princess for Wii. Same game as the Gamecube game but with wiggly stick controls. Underratted - Grimm Fandango for PC. Great story, art work, game play (its a point and click like Monkey Island) and just all around fun.
  11. It's an ongoing issue for a lot of users Han, I am one myself. This thread goes into it a bit. I've noticed that some of the older first build tables don't have the focus issue. Quite a while ago I found a thread on the interwebs about it also and someone wrote either an ahk or something and when I tried to download it, the link was dead.
  12. NP thanks for the workaround! Ill try it out when i get home. EDIT: Works, just a bit buggy. In custom it works but then when I do click the next arrow, it takes me back to the welcome screen and then to the first screen. Wierd. I'll just keep clickity-clickity-clickity. Thanks for the tip though.
  13. This is more of a request for the Setup Wizard. I'm all about short cuts. Since the cutover to the Setup Wizard from the Advance Config, to change certain emulator items. Sometimes it's a pain when the Wizard is set to Advanced, to scroll with the next arrow 10-12 times until finally you reach the Emulator Selection screen. I'm requesting a shortcut icon on initial startup of the Wizard to go directly to the Emulator Selection setup screen. While we're at it, how about a shortcut to the MAME setup too.
  14. Yay for the SG 1-Thou! Nice one K-man.
  15. Awesome, thank you Tom.
  16. Bappy Hirthday Circo!
  17. Nice. Grabbing that guy now for cab, thanks!
  18. Here is the enables fullscreen cmd line if anyone wanted it. 4DO.exe --StartFullScreen -StartLoadFile "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" BTW, toss out Freedo is your still using it. The GUI actually works and loading an image file is extremely easy. Totally impressive.
  19. This looks amazing. Can't wait to see the release.
  20. Hey cool thanks!
  21. Yes this will be a public release once it's completed. I'm not quite there yet though. [EDIT] SCRAPPED. This will not be released or finished. Sorry.
  22. Mike, want to work together on this? With our combined forces, we could take over the world.... Or just make a kick ass theme. Depends on you. Lol!
  23. Thank you for the links, that will really help for sure. I'll probably ask for help as it arrises. Also glad someone else will appreciate the idea.
  24. Although I'm not as gifted in the photoshop ways as some of our memebers are, I did try my hand at a theme but after seeing some of the entries into the competition I decided to scrap the idea totally. I've resurrected the idea again. This time with a Star Trek feel. LCARS (Library Computer Access/Retrieval System) is the computer that is used in Star Trek TNG and others. Yes, I'm a total Star Wars nerd but the computer in STTNG has always been rad to me. Here is the general idea behind the LCARS-GE (the GE obviously for GameEx). Like I said, this is just the basic idea. My knowledge and experience behind Theme Editor isn't very good so it might take me some time. Hopefully have an entry before the competition ends. Thoughts and feedback please.
  25. Hope you have a Happy B-Day Alpha!
