Sorry, i misunderstood your problem earlier.
  2. Thanks. Could you leave the option to turn off the 'Reduce Cpu Usage' in the advanced config though. Thanks again for the new features introduced at 8.28.

    jukebox

Hi. So what happens when go to jukebox in gameex is that it lists all your songs individually whether they happen to be in an album or not ? EDIT: I think what's happening is that jukebox is set to File Tag Mode (i haven't used that mode myself). If you move all your albums/songs to one folder (My Music) to keep things organized (if you haven't already done so) you can download Windows Media Player 11, install it and fire it up. On opening it for the first time it will probably try and build a library - if not you can select 'Library' then 'Add To Library' and select the folder (My Music or which folder all your music is in). When it's finished building a library you can check to see if all music is there. Exit WMP11 and run the GameEX setup wizard. Go to 'Audio Settings', on the first page you'll see 'Jukebox Mode' and select 'Use WMP Library', save and exit setup wizard. The next time you use the jukebox in GameEX you should see your albums there. You can toggle the way your music is displayed by clicking on 'Artist/Album' on the left. You can also make playlists of your favourite tracks in WMP11 and play them in GameEX's jukebox (under playlists). If you want to display your album cover art (jpeg) just have it within the album folder and rename the image to 'folder'. Hope this helps.

Hi. Not sure what you mean by maps. Do you mean the paths to the albums ?
  5. Hi Nynja. You'll need to give more info on your setup for people on the forum to help you (not saying i can by any means but if you be more specific i'm sure someone can help you). You have an arcade cab ? Are you using a keyboard encoder (ipac4) for example ? I think (although i could be wrong 'L' on the keyboard brings up the control panel in MAME). You'll need to find out what keys (on the keyboard) player 3 is mapped to start to solve your problem.
  6. Hi Tom. I've been looking at my video previews (film) for half an hour or so. It is improved but screen tear/slight jerky motion still do occur but subtly. As regards screen tear - you very very rarely get a tear the full width of the screen only a small portion of the width of the screen. I noticed slight jerky motion a couple of times - when the camera was panning slowly left to right or vice vera. Scrolling track info is still jerky. Sorry to sound critical but i am looking at it with a critical eye and it still is sometimes there. Your efforts on this are appreciated. Cheers, iano. EDIT: Off Topic i know (Jukebox) but the rectangular space in the taskbar in which the track info scrolls is offset to the right. The info starts scrolling from the pause button on the right and stops scrolling about a centimeter from the ? button on the left.
  7. Will do when i get home from work (20:00 BST) Thanks.
  8. Just tried version 8.43 (i think things improved from 8.38 on). The screen tear and unsmoothed motion now happen not that often. When it does (screen tear) it seems to depend on whats happening in the actual video preview (film) or the speed things are happening at in the video i.e. you'll only see screen tear in a fast action sequence but the screen tear effect is very subtle but still noticeable. Is the unsmoothed motion of the track info scrolling in jukebox related ? Or is it a different issue ? It's very noticeable that it's not scrolling smoothly. Cheers, iano. EDIT: Just tried turning off the 'Reduce CPU Usage' option and it actually made the screen tear / choppiness much worse
  9. Tom i'm using an arcade monitor (Wells Gardner D9200) at 640x480. I've never run gameex in a window on it (i think if windowed it would be pretty big anyway as most xp windows seem this way running at 640x480). I was talking about video (film) previews where the quality would be much better than game preview avis. I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being worst case scenario it's probably about 3 or so). Build 8.37 actually made things worse (jerkiness & screen tear), track info scrolling in jukebox is pretty noticeable (jerky not no more than the previous build i think). Just noticed build 8.38 is up - will try that. Haven't tried turning off accurate frame skipping yet. Will try latest build to see what happens and then try turning off accurate frame skipping to see what happens. Thanks again, iano.
  10. Do you mean the 'chugging' and screen tear only occurring in video preview window ? Will down load 8.37 and check out now. Thanks, iano.
  11. Sorry about the delay in responding. P4 3Ghz (not dual core only hyperthreading) 2Gb RAM DDR 400 megahertz 300GB Hard drive ( not sata, ide) ArcadeVGA (AGP version based on radeon 9250 128Mb ram)
  12. Just updated to 8.36 and watched a few video previews. It's improved but i still see screen tear (though not as frequent) and noticed a very slight 'chugging' on moving objects in the video preview. I forgot to mention in my last post that the track info that scrolls from right to left on the taskbar in jukebox also 'chugs' along and doesn't scroll smoothly. Cheers, iano.
  13. Hi Folks. I've noticed that when previewing my music videos the video is slightly stuttering and screen tearing occurs. This only started happening recently when i updated. I think it was there before the accurate frame skipping feature was added (8.32) and may have occured around version 8.27 / 8.28 ( in any event it just started happening over the past few days or so i've noticed). When you select the video to watch it fullscreen it seems ok though. Any ideas ? Thanks folks.
  14. I experience too (choppy video snaps but play in full screen ok) but i think this was happening before 8.34 and 8.28 (don't mean to be singling out version numbers) but they were working fine a few days ago. Cheers, iano. EDIT: Sorry, should made this a new topic.

I've given up on this issue (it only happens very rarely to me anyway) and by all accounts is too difficult to troubleshoot. I've just resorted to live with it (don't even think that it's GameEx related).
  16. Bkenobi there is a theme called Blue-EX-Snap included with the default themes and i think it is the one that he is using. It does look more or less the exact same as the one included. It looks only very slight different (bigger) than the one i'm currently looking at but i think thats because i'm running at 640x480 and he's running at 640x288 i think.
  17. I really like this idea.
  18. Wow ! Xmas has fallen early. Thanks Tom !
  19. I think you misunderstood me (i didn't mean getting them to light up) i was talking about finding a way round problems mounting them securely.
  20. I've ordered 2 of them. I'll let you know the dimensions when they arrive in the post. If you really wanted to you could use them, with a little ingenuity.

My IPAC is after running away with my wife ! I think its about time i stopped complaining about ipac/remapping issues.
  22. I tried what you said but it's still the same. When previewing videos they're the fine but when watch them fullscreen they're upside down and on exiting GameEX i get an error window (ActiveMovie Window: GameEX.exe - Application Error) The instruction at "0x0b641374" referenced at "0x00000004" The memory could not be "Read". I ended up going back to the previous build (20051129) of ffdshow i was using. Cheers, iano.
  23. Hi Nologic, please help ! I was using an earlier build of ffdshow but decided to upgrade to the one you suggested but now i'm having the same problem as nynja - video upsidedown. The funny thing is when i'm watching the video in preview mode it is the right way up but when i select the avi itself everything is upside down . What am i doing wrong ? Thanks, iano.
  24. I honestly don't know. The only thing i do know is that you'd need to drill a hole an inch & eighth (same as pushbutton hole) to mount them. You could ask someone at groovygamegear for the complete dimensions though.

I've a funny feeling this maybe ipac related (sounds absolutely crazy i know) and i've not much knowledge about pcs but i'm running the same pc game on 2 systems (one gameex/ipac and one not) and sometimes when i run the game as an emulator on gameex/ipac setup (by pressing player1) the graphics are messed up. Having said that i've a couple of other pc games that work fine. Don't know what the story is but it pisses me off no end and my ipac wont remap most of the time
