  1. Thanks ... I was looking for a more clean and professional look to it. Starting to get better at Paint.net and learning how to use alot of the different plugins that I can apply to the theme as well. I updated the above snap as well adding in the Game Box logo to the tab. I have a few more things I want to update to this theme then this one is done and onto the next system. Each theme will be similar in looks but with different color schemes. [uPDATE] Updated the graphics and I think this will be the final version of the 2600 theme.
  2. Ok ... here is the new look for the Atari 2600 system. Includes box and cart images that change with each game.
  3. Ok I decided to change the Gameroom theme a bit. Here is a sneak peek at the new look of the Main Menu.
  4. I found a new font that I like for this theme Droid Serif. I also increased the size of the System Selection tab so you can have larger names for those with custom menus.
  5. I'm always open to ideas so I will check it out One thing I'm not so happy with the current font is it's spacing between characters. I prefer it closer.
  6. +1 with placeable images that can be resized/stretched that will allow theme makers to get faster results with our themes.
  7. @nullPointer I will check out a few other fonts (Yours as well) before I go any further and see what the results look like. @KRC Yes I was already going with that idea as far as colors go. Well it seems like no matter what new theme I create at first I think it's going to be simple but then it turns into alot of work. For example the box/cart info tab for the Atati 2600/5200 system all have to be custom for each game. Because you can see the effects that I did for them instead of just displaying a plain old box image on the tab. I like my results better I think as it adds more pop to the theme. It just takes more time to create all the images to complete each theme especially when we are talking 100's or even 1000's of games. For me I don't mind putting in the work as I like doing this and if you guys like the effects then it's worth it but I know it going to take me longer to put the theme out to you guys. I think I just need to find a balance I suppose so you don't have to wait forever for me to release a theme. With Gameroom and the KrakOSX theme it's going to keep me busy for some time.
  8. @nullPointer the font is an Apple font that I am using. Why do you ask? @KRC I was thinking of sticking with one background to keep it simple plus it would be much faster to complete this theme but I thought that might be too boring. What do you guys think? ... Should I use different ones for each system or just stick with one?
  9. Thanks! d/l and trying out the SQLite PE version.
  10. Glad you guys like it. I had a MacPro but I gave that one to my wife when I bought my current system. But thought why not try something different and had some ideas in my head. Here is a preview of what I am doing for the systems with the 5200 being the first that I am working on.
  11. I know in the past this probably been asked before but I think since GameEx uses this feature wouldn't it be important to have some kind of a editor so we can make descriptions for each game and have rankings for them. I never used descriptions until my latest theme but need to know how to do it? Since alot of the emulators are missing descriptions. It seems like we need some kind of editor or something for that unless there is a third party program we can use or recommend using to do it?
  12. Here is a beta preview of a new theme that I started working on tonight.
  13. Ok I managed to fix my multi-monitor setup once again and got GameExtender to work once again! on the monitor that I want it on .... No more updating my drivers Sheesh what a pain that was.... Hmmm If and when Tom implements Multi-Monitor maybe he just needs to add an option in the Setup Wizard under each emulator with a line that says: Display GameExtender on Monitor: (And have you select the number from a pulldown menu .... like 1-4) and then change the option under the GameExtender that says Run on Secondary: to saying Run on startup to monitor: (1-4) that way when you startup GameEx it will run to the monitor you choose. just a thought. What do you guys think? Makes sense ....
  14. Here is one that I made for my 1050x1680 monitor. I saw this on google it was smaller and a little different but I put my own twist on it and remade it so it would fit my monitor.
  15. I thought I would post a desktop wallpaper image that I use that I found on google. It's Pulp Fiction meets Lightguns
  16. It's alot of work but it will be well worth it as it looks stunning when you see it running. My other monitor (1280x1024) is for my Future Pinball backglasses and I want to also put my VP backglasses on that monitor as well one more reason for the multi-monitor support. So under each emulator you could tell GameExtender to send those image to a particular monitor. Atari 2600 send to monitor 3 Visual Pinball send to monitor 2 ect ect... This is the kinda stuff I'm working on.
  17. Just to show you why I am getting so excited about multi-monitor support this is what I have running when I run Missile Command on the Atari 2600 and have GameExtender output to my monitor that is 1050x1680 (Portrait mode my monitor rotates Vert/Horiz)) ... see the attachment. I also made another one for Space Invaders just to show you.
  18. @Adultery No I would never jump ship as GameEx is my frontend of choice!! But my mouth will be watering when and if Tom adds in that support ... no pressure T!
  19. @Draco I felt that way along time ago then being curious I watched alot of youtube videos on setting it up then bam it hit me and now I have Daphne, MAME and a few other emulators running perfectly and just recently figured out how to make themes. No I am not trying to pressure anyone to put in the multi monitor support like anytime soon as I know Tom will do it when he can. Never would I not release anything just because Tom didn't implement something in GameEx that I needed. I really appreciate the feedback I get when I am designing a theme that is one major reason for posting pics of it to get me excited about putting in the hard work to make it look nice not just for me but for everyone else that I share it with as well so it looks nice on there systems ... hell Draco you were the one that inspired me to get into this as well as helped me with so many issues I've encoutered along the way as well as a few other people on here which you know who you are.
  20. @Adultery No Hyperspin only runs on 1 monitor (currently). @Draco This current theme I'm working on was meant for my personal use, but I was going to share it with you all that is why I am wanting the 3 monitors for this theme as it is for me! not any competition .... So I never said I wasn't going to complete it I'm going to complete it when I'm ready too and I'm happy with it. As far as using Hyperspin I like what that frontend brings to the table that GameEx is missing so I want to create themes for it as well and have alot of ideas I want to put to use on my other computer (only has 1 monitor) in my Man Cave. Alot of users over here at GameEx I see over at Hyperspin so I know I'm not the only one using both. I know I don't have to explain myself to everyone why I am using one particular frontend as I paid for GameEx and I have also donated to Hyperspin and I can use whatever frontend I want to but since I have known you guys for such along time I just wanted to let you know where I am coming from and where I am going with what I do. It's not that I am not happy with GameEx I just that I like them both alot and they both have 2 different looks to them, but I find GameEx far more easier to setup. Anyways enuff ranting about this as we don't need to be comparing them both as we seen enuff of that in the past I hope that clears up anything that I might of mislead anyone of my intentions and I do apreciate everything Tom and the GameEx crew bring to GameEx and put into it. I am really looking forward to what he does next with GameEx.
  21. Thanks for all the kind words but with a recent issue with the 3 monitors and Game Extender I have put the theme on hold (again! I know) until Tom comes out with a update for it as I want this theme to make use of the 3 monitors at least on my end which is the important part. So for now I am not working on it. But to pass the time I've managed to finally and I mean finally figured out how to create themes and setup Hyperspin so I am making a theme currently using that frontend (Sorry guys I know I moved on to the darkside for now, but GameEx is where my heart and soul is). Once Tom has that update out will continue with this theme and more. Note: I know I found a work around for the 3 monitors but recently I updated my ATI Drivers stupid me and now I just can't seem to get it to work again 100% correctly for some reason. Just getting frustrated with it so I'll just wait for the update to GameEx!
  22. I thought the same thing until I did a search on youtube and found a video of someone explaining on how to set it up using a frontend.
