I had already tried that but just for grins gave it another try. Same result,

Is anyone else running FX3 and keeping a PinballX backglass video active (meaning not doing a Backglass reposition and copying image files to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pinball FX3\data\steam to enable their backglass support) If I put image files just for FX3 in the folder above I am able to display a backglass image properly but I really like the video versions better from PBX If someone with a cabinet could test I would greatly apprecate it to see if it is an issue from some updated drivers, dll or FX3 build.

Running latest PinballX 3.06 with LAV, DMDExt 1.7.1, My system: Core I7-8700, Windows 10 Pro (Version 10.0.17134.191), 16gb Mem, GTX1080 In Pinball FX3 I have cabinet mode enabled and the game is running fine. I have table and backglass videos that I had previously been using without issue since March in PinballX. I intentionally have Game manager setup to keep keep the Backglass video running when a FX3 table is launched to use while in game. This way I don't have to setup backglass images in FX3. During one of the last few PinballX updates I started getting part of the backglass cutoff while FX3 and I am just getting back around to figuring out why. PinballX appears to intentionally black out both the playfield screen and backglass screen at FX3 table launch. The playfield will display fine but 3/4 of my backglass shows black screen with about 1/4 showing my backglass video. The video itself stops playing as the 1/4 part of the screen stays static. The video in this example is an MP4 but I have also converted it to a F4V and the problem persists. This is occuring with ALL my FX3 backglass videos. Every now and then the backglass is being fully displayed. When I exit FX3 and go back to PinballX the whole backglass is displaying properly again. While in PinballX After Table load: PinballX.ini Pinball FX3.xml log.txt [SETTINGS].log

Just a heads up to everyone. I hadn't played Pro Pinball in a while so after updating to DMDExt 1.7.0 and 1.7.1 I was not able to get the DMD to display on my PinDMDV3. The was a constant error of a missing assembly everytime I tried to run DMDExt from my script with the -s propinball arg. In order to fix it I extracted an original DMDExt 1.6.0 and renamed the file so I can run the latest DMDExt with all my other VPin software and then just run version 1.6 for ProPinball. Back in business again, just wanted to post to save anyone else the headache of figuring out the same problem.

Ditto, said being able to launch a table directly is my largest remaining wish. I was glad to see that part of their survey. I am hoping cabinet mode continues to improve and direct table launch is added. Their version of pinball arcade menus is lightyears better than the standard tpa menu. It is awful and should have been standard for arcooda license holders since we paid for it.

I just have the default pinballx video playing on my pindmd3. I'll try and enable a video file next time I boot up

@Pablo Smiraglia - see below. I just took this from my system a few moments ago. I have the generic pinballX video running on my PinDMDV3 when I am in Pinballx. I have never got around to doing dmd videos for the games, it is pretty low priority for me. I have no issues either running dmdext.exe (FX3, PBA, Timeshock, Pinball Wicked) or using the built-in DMDDevice.Dll for VP9 and VPX tables. In PinballX Game manager make sure to check Disable DMD for the games otherwise your will get the issue you are reporting. Up until a few versions ago that check mark really didn't appear to do anything. Now, unless I check it in game manager the PinballX default DMD would be displayed and then the in-game one would not work. This might be your problem. PinballX Directory: XDMD.DLL 5/23/18 8:27PM XDMDNative.DLL 5/23/18 8:27PM PinDMD.DLL 1/20/16 8:40AM PinDMD.Ini ========== [communication] debug=0 comport=COM3 [pinmame] log_frames=0 DMDExt 1.71 installed in my VPinMame directory (C:\Pinball\Visual Pinball\VpinMame), I also make sure it is my Path so there is only a single copy of it installed. That is good news for those who are waiting. My cabinet is working well after the latest Cabinet beta release. Game play is fine and all 4 camera modes are working well now and I am not seeing any peformance problems. There are some people still reporting horrible FPS rates on the views 1-3 but I think Farsight will fix it. My only gripe is that you can't launch a table directly so hoping NoEx can get a FCM version that works with cabinet mode and I would be very happy. There is still some other cleanup Farsight needs to do once the performance issue are fixed but it is well worth the money. I actually play TPA now fairly regularly where I did not before since the camera views stunk.

I have a PinDMDV3 and everything is working fine for me so sounds like a DLL issue. Try renaming the PinDMD.Dll so it is not used and make sure you are using dmddevice.dll with the .ini file set.
-
Yes it is. I bought a piece of anti-glare glass but it did nothing to help. Doesn't bother me as bad as before but going to put a piece in there to block the reflection eventually.

DmdExt does work with Cabinet mode. There is no direct command line option for it. If you use the dmdext mirror -source screen with the coodinates and size of your display it does work. I had it up and running the same night as the release. Renaming the PinballArcadeCabinet.exe to PinballArcade11.exe does let it work with the standard mirror -pinballarcade parameter as well. This is cabinet mode working with my PinDMDV3

That is a very interesting find indeed. I don't care about the Kinect features but that menu layout is SO SUPERIOR in every way than the standard TPA. Why on earth do we not get that too? We bought the Arcooda software, why shouldn't we get the look and feel of it too? I can understand not getting the toys and Kinect since that is the part that makes it unique for Arcooda's hardware. I am just happy to get the cabinet mode and backglass/dmd.

The position - 3207 and 21 are specific to where I have the dmd displaying on my 3rd monitor that I capture. That number will be different depending on your systems so it was just more as example. Here is a great utility for finding screen positions. This will get you close and then just fine tune your numbers from there. http://pinballbulbs.com/files/pbfx2dotmatrix.zip

I have it set to 1024x256 and it is working well. I tried multiple sizes but with mirroring they all look about the same. there is no required size though. From there you Haut need to get the coordinates of where the window is.

That indeed was the issue. Thanks again!
-
Thanks Pablo, I didn't catch that. I will give it a try tonight. I bet that is what the issue is.

I am also having an issue all of a sudden. While in PinballX my PinDMDV3 is displaying the default PinballX DMD video as expected. When I start a VPX table I get no game DMD now the PinballX one continues to run If I run VPX directly the table's DMD function fine. I have never had this issue before. I replaced the dmddevice.dll and two XMD DLL's with the ones from Lucky's SAM build as I always in the PBX directory but still no go. I have also gone through every EXE and DLL to make sure nothing is blocked. It appears PBX isn't releasing the DMD on startup of VPX now. I will post my log and ini files tonight when I get home but just wanted to post this as it might be related to what Pablo is seeing.

Yep, that is basically the same scripts I use for the DX11 version with FCM. On an even more positive note another Cabinet mode update was just released and cabinet mode views are fully there! It looks 100% better and barring any major bugs it was worth the 150.00 bucks

Sorry for the delay. Trying to get house stuff done and get my pool open so not much time to play. For anyone interested here is my settings to lauch Arcooda pinball from PinballX. This does NOT start a table as expected but at least gives me a way to start the app from within. This also has my DMD settings for my PinDMDV3. I am waffling back and forth about replacing it with a third monitor instead. For most tables in Arcooda is looks good but otherwise is a little washed out with the screen mirroring for old Non-DMD titles. Maybe Freezy will update to make it look better so I will hold off. Quick background of what I did. I am still going to use FreeCamMod as well so I saved a version of the dx11_settings.dat from TPAConfig.exe for both FreeCamMod and then one for Arcooda. My AHK scripts will copy the configured file before starting up Arcooda or FreeCamMod so I can run both from PinballX. Start_Arcooda.AHK does the following. 1) Copy the DX11_Settings.dat file to put in Arcooda Mode 2) Rotate the screen 90 degrees 3) Start DMDExt with screen mirroring on my 3rd monitor Run_Arcooda.AHK Basically kills PinballX, throws up a black screen to hide the changover (for aesthetics only), Starts Arcooda and then waits for escape key to kill the process. It then rotates the screen back, kills dmdext and fires back up Pinballx. Everytthing seems to be working fine for me using this configuration so far. It has for normal Pinball Arcade so I am pretty confident this will work fine going forward as well. Run_Arcooda.ahk Start_Arcooda.ahk

Got the DMDExt working well, just playing with settings to get best image still. I have it launching from pinballx now (no direct table).

I forgot to turn off autoupdates so my cabinet mode got yanked. I did get to tinker with it for a bit but focused on trying to get my PinDMDv3 at least partially working as that seems to be what everyone was most interested in. I didn't even think to try the native -source pinballarcade switch with DMDExt to see if that works still or if Freezy will add a new Arcooda switch to automatically grab the DMD from cabinet mode. My test using the --source screen was successful so even if not this should work very well. Just the short time I got to play around I will say this is the version TPA that we should have had all along. Now with the cabinet mode views TPA is going to shoot up my list to my go to tables for the foreseeable future. Love FX3 and VPX still but I have not played a ton of TPA since I hate the table views.
-
Farsight is already going to patch it. Make sure under steam you don't opt in for beta or it doesn't work. I found a bug in cactus jack whiled randomly looking at tables. 3 of the 4 cabinet views are corrupt but the other tables look wonderful and this is going to be a great way to play TPA. I also have confirmed that a real dmd will work with DMDExt and screen mirroring (hopefully Freezy just adds support). I was able to quickly hack together my DMD to at least come close to displaying it right. Just need to dial in the coordinates.

Cabinet mode is released. My system just installed it!
-
Now we are all impatiently waiting on the actual software. I was hoping since the key was released that TPA would immediately follow.
-
Ahh, makes sense. Didn't want you to get your key disabled if you had accidentally included it.
