It's always a bummer to see the folks who purchased..with real money....the software someone else, and come back to the person that developed it...asking for help. Hell, even being a donating member would get you some clout. Tom works hard.

Pinball FX3: Williams Pinball Volume 6
BrandonLaw replied to Mike_da_Spike's topic in PinballX Media Projects
We still don't have Freezy's working on Vol 6, correct? -
So....I absolutely value this forum and the members involved, but Popper has swooned me. Thanks for the assistance, guys! Love ya.
-
Thanks for the input, fellas. I am in-fact using the 32bit. I will give this a go and see how she fairs.
-
I really do appreciate it. I have a feeling it's not the 'norm' for folks to use it. I enjoy the rom and scores being displayed live.
-
Thanks for the info, @Mike_da_Spike Can you do me a favor and hit your settings and just try vpm for PBX real quick? Fire up pbx and see if you get the rom to show on a rom-based table with no dmd art. What's strange is on different .exe's, it has different behavior....one exe will have it blank..another will only show what was previously working like an image or a vid from fx3 on the vpm table.
-
Trying to keep this alive as I'd like to take advantage of the newer features of the .exe. Let me ask the community this: What DMD and VPM are you using? If you're using a PinDMDv3...did you upgrade the Firmware to enhance the color depth? I did, and have a feeling that may be killing it for PBX. VPX works fine...it's JUST this .exe after 4.67 leaves my DMD blank. Something is amiss. (Trying not to move to Popper )

PinballX.ini log.txt Thar she be.

Will do as soon as I get home. I knew someone would ask for it...:)
-
Fellas, just seen the 4.80 drop and thought I may be in luck with the .exe changing back to whatever 4.67 was capable of doing, but alas, no dice. 4.67 is the last version where PBX calls VPM correctly to my PinDMDv3. I'm just wanting to know what changed inside of PBX.exe to bust VPM going forward from there. I install 4.80 and all of its components, but change just the exe back to 4.67 and boom...vpm working inside of PBX again.

Finally got around to adding Vol 6...just making sure I'm not crazy by looking through the GitHub commits that Freezy's is still busted, correct? -
@Tom Speirs Just updated from 4.6X to most recent 4.78. Looks like PinMame in PBX doesn't display. Everything else displays fine: DMD vids/pics/FX3 stuff...just pinmame is blank. Tried to back up to 4.77...also was a no-go...matter of fact that one stayed on whatever was displayed previously and never called PinMame. I use PinDMDv3. Going to go back to 4.6X for the time being.

Windows 10 can be a buggar. I use WinAeroTweaker which is a free program to disable much of the BS. Keep in mind we don't use these things as PC's so disable EVERYTHING not needed. Research services and disable them at startup. Another good program is Startup Delayer to manage when apps can/can't load. I hibernate with a smartstrip so bootdown of the whole system with the press of a single button is quick and bootup minus bios is about 12 seconds right into PBX. I really load nothing else other than Steam and Nvidia CP in the background.

Here you go. NOTE: THESE MAY NOT BE NAMED CORRECTLY! Just got the pack and haven't fired it up yet or even looked so don't bitch if it doesn't work because you didn't read this. I cussed...that was mean...but don't bitch. -
The journey is the fun of cab ownership! I truly think of it as getting a new Pinball Table. I try to learn some of the rules and making it nice, fitting, and personal adjustments is the fun. Hell, I already have a hard time playing tables more than once or twice...I can't imagine getting dumped on with tables. Not sure I'd value the hobby as much.
-
FYI I've added a half-a-dozen or so to the dir. Champions League, Cuphead, Guardians of the Galaxy, Cyclone, Diablo, Harry Potter ...I forgot the rest lol
-
I will try this. Thanks @Mike_da_Spike No go, brother. Was already added. What's funny...I have an image for Munsters and I watched it stay initialized for the table, I exited the table back to PBX...it flashed and came back up, but doesn't do it 99% of the time. Feels like a timing thing?
-
@Tom Speirs Did you ever get a chance to check this out? It's been a while since I had posted this and a couple of iterations of PBX later and seems to still be doing it. I have to exit PBX and restart it to get the DMD to fire back up. Is this an XDMD issue, perhaps? Something is keeping a hold on the COM port or something within PBX or XDMD.

Thanks, @Mike_da_Spike

I've noticed some Table Launch Audio just doesn't exist for some tables via import. Where is the repository for the Import function on our Game Managers? I've made a couple and could add to it. I assume it's on the FTP?

I'm still unsure why anyone would use a b2s file when a pup pack is needed. It confuses VPX and just doesn't play well. I've tried importing, renaming, different location, and VPX still acts up with this behavior so I just nixed the b2s and replaced with backglass videos for PBX. Problem 100% solved. My find for Harry Potter and GoG was that the use of .mp4's for UltraDMD would cause the driver to reset momentarily and the backglass would go black and reappear if you have 'Use Videos' turned on. The videos show up in the PUP anyhow...no need for them on the DMD. Static bg again.

Just noticed as I don't have many tables that I turn the DMD off, but when I'm in PBX, I see the Image (using Cuphead as an example.) I start the table, DMD image stays as I have the DMD turned off. When I exit the table and return to PBX, the DMD clears and cannot be found on COM port as per the log. Not sure if it's a timing issue, as I did just upgrade to stupid fast hardware like it's trying to poll too quickly? Here's the log/config. Have to exit PBX and restart to get the DMD to fire up again. Only seems to happen on Real Color DMD Image tables. It's more than likely an I-D-10-T error log.txt PinballX.ini

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
BrandonLaw replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
I also use TeamViewer...and have noticed that you get about a minute where you do not get a popup after any initial login. Example: I start the video recording session for a table after a long session and I know I'm going to get the popup and immediately X out. You get 20 seconds before the table starts recording on the cab. I log back in, close the popup, and X out. No popup. -
Fantastic! Thanks, Scuts!

I've taken screenshots via TeamViewer on what happens, but basically in PBX all is well as the Instruction Card displays 'full screen' on my Tiny Monitor. (800x480) When I open a table, the card (.swf format) will display bars at the top and bottom (pics) like it's not being 'stretched' in full screen after selection...almost like it defaults to 'best fit' or something. This isn't really and issue on white cards, but certainly is an eye-sore on colored cards. Something to note...this does NOT happen with .PNG's. Problem is, I cannot convert the .swf's back to png:( I've grabbed a few programs and tried some online stuff, but to no avail as I assume it's taking the first frame or something and trying to convert just that. Anyhow...anyway we can get .SWF's on the apron to 'stay' full screen/stretched? Scrolling PBX only... After opening a table....
