  1. I was wondering if there was a way for GameEx to remember the last album that was played instead of just playing the first album in the list.
  2. Looks like a good solution.
  3. I should have said Advanced MAME Settings.
  4. Will the cubeqst.ini file override the switches I am using in GameEx under Advanced MAME?
  5. Cube Quest
  6. I have the game running in the high 90% range now by enabling the -mt switch (enabling Multi-Threaded rendering). I can't believe I didn't notice this sooner. What a difference this made.
  7. I am running my MAME setup with an Arcade video card and arcade monitor. Here are the MAME Options I am using in GameEx to launch my MAME games: -video -ddraw -nohwstretch -switchres -joy -skip_gameinfo I think those are the correct Arcade settings. I need to run one game with Direct3d to get 100% performance, under direct draw I only get around 68%. Is there a way to launch this one MAME ROM through GameEx with the Direct3D setting and leave the rest Direct Draw? If possible I would like it to remain in the MAME list. Thanks.
  8. I tried it the other day and it seemed to run very smooth and sounded fine also. I am running a Dell Dual Core 2.2 Ghz Vista system. My system is running with an Arcade Monitor and Arcade video card 800x600. Cube Quest shows up in Mame as good and also shows up in GameEx. Not sure what to suggest. Have you tried changing/tweaking any of the setting for the rom in your MAME emulator?
  9. I had a problem when minimizing GameEx and your tip fixed my issue. Thanks
  10. There is freeware that will monitor and send alerts based on your motherboard temp. I found this small little app (not freeware) called Sensors View that monitors your CPU temp, HD temp, CPU usage, NIC usage, and a few other settings. It is a nice little app that sits in the tray or has a small gui. http://www.stvsoft.com/
  11. Thanks for the Nokia-Monitor-Tool this made calibrating much easier. I spent some time lastnight going through the diffrent resolutions adjusting the geometry. Suprising how far off some of them were. Everything looks good now.
  12. Some how I though someone would suggest that.
  13. Is there a way to set up two favorite folders that can be used in GameEx one for myself and one for my girlfriend. The closest I got was to create a ini file in C:\Emulators\Mame32\CustomFolders. This gives me an extra folder but I have to populate it manually. Is there anyway to do this?

    Rankings.ini

I put the ini file in my MAME32\customFolders and it seems to be working.
  15. Joe, I decided to go wit the rounded screen not the Flat.
  16. I just placed an order for the mounting kit. I did not even think about it. I am glad you brought it up.
  17. Thanks for all the quick replies. I decided to go with the WG D9400 and the Ultimarc ArcadeVGA PCI Express 16. Once again, thanks.
  18. Could someone recommend an Arcade video card that will work with Vista?
  19. I am finishing up my MAME Cabinet (Ultimate Arcade II cabinet kit from mameroom.com) and I am leaning to wards a Wells-Gardner D9400 (WGM2794-U0TS40E). For now I will be using the video card that came with my PC. I have read to get the best video I should buy an Arcade video card. I may down the line get one. I was just wondering what everyone thinks about the D9400 and what the pros and cons are. I guess I would be limited to running Windows (Vista) at 800x600. http://www.wellsgardner.com/products/detai...&iSubCat=36 Info listed on web site: WGM2794-U0TS40E 27" Model D9400 Digitally controlled monitor. 20. I like tom's settings as well, is there a way to keep the view that shows the animation on the left as default? I find my self always changing the view once GameEx boots up. Thanks..
  21. Thaks for all of the suggestions. I still have not decided what to do. I am trying to stay away from CRT. Two main reasons: Burn in and extra heat.
  22. I have just started putting together the "Ultimate Arcade II cabinet kit" and want to install a LCD monitor but the largest I can find that is 4:3 is around 20"or 21". I was thinking maybe going wide screen but not sure how that would look. Has anyone installed a 16:9 LCD monitor in a MAME cabinet? If so what size, make, and model? I have GameEx running on my PC with a wide screen and it seems to do very well, just not sure how it would work out in a MAME cabinet. I need to start shopping for a PC and monitor to put in the MAME cabinet once finished.
  23. Strange, I looked at GameEx Live and I don't see anyone at version 9.28.
  24. I did and I have the same results. I keep getting pompted for an upgrade. I checked and I am still at version 9.27.
