1) oh no, the games run fine.....its only when you first launch GameEx itself. It will just throw itself on the taskbar until you click on it to go fullscreen. After that everything is all good. this only started after using iview32... 2) Is there a good resource site to get high quality marquees? Now that I can really use the marquees for something id like to get some better quality ones. Is there a way to make iview32 to display the images at a higher quality? I noticed some of my high quality marquees look rather poor thru iview32. I saw the option to make it do that and I already have it checked by default. Is there maybe another way too?

Hi Tempest! I don't know what you mean by this response about Mame. Work with mame? I QUOTED: 2) This is the bad thing i ran into..... When i launch GameEx now it minimizes itself to the taskbar since i installed this. It's seems to be random, but it happened 5 out of like the 7 times I was doing all this. So what happens is the iview32 GameEx logo will go fullscreen on my second monitor and then gameex will launch but it will sitting be on the taskbar....and u can hear GameEX playing in the background. I then have to click on it in the taskbar to launch it to go full screen. YOUR REPONSE: Hmmm ... Does it work ok with Mame?

Hey Tempest, Hey I got this to work! You know it was? "Use AdvanceMAME" need to be set to "yes" by default it is set to "no" I believe. At least my install is. Couple of things. 1) If I want to show the Marquee and "something else" like say controls or the games flyer instead of that Mame logo how would I do that? Or what if I want to show "just" the bottom window? do i just delete the "top" folder? What type of file formats will it recognize? I'm wondering if I made a custom marquee in FLASH would it recognize the .swf file? That would be sweet....! 2) This is the bad thing i ran into..... Maybe because they don't have a second monitor. It REALLY adds to the MAME experience! THANKS!!!!

Hi Guys, Actually the back of my LCD TV has a few open inputs I could use besides S-video. I have open / free: 1-DVI 1-Component Video 1-Standard PC VGA 1-S-video Could I run that free HDTV + TV Out port on my video card to one of those free inputs on my LCD TV instead of that S-Video? If so, what kind of adapter would I need? I was looking on google could find anything. I'm also really wondering if my Nvidia card will even let me use 3 monitors at once? (my Dual monitor PC setup using the 2 DVI's and my LCD TV using that HDTV-Out) I mean it's called "Dual-View" not Tri-View. Thanks!

Hey Tempest! No, I'm not using AdvanceMAME, so don't worry about that. Let me give it a go again based on your feedback and I'll report back. Thanks!

3 Things: --1) Your .ini files have: OpenDir=C:\Emulators\Mame64.127\marquees\ OpenIndex=1 [MRUD] Dir1= Dir2=C:\Emulators\Mame64.127\marquees\ Dir3=C:\Emulators\Mame64.127\cpanel\ I'm assuming it just change it like this? To point where my marquees are? OpenDir=K:\BACKUP\EMULOADER\marquees\ OpenIndex=1 [MRUD] Dir1= Dir2=K:\BACKUP\EMULOADER\marquees\ Dir3=K:\BACKUP\EMULOADER\marquees\ Do i need to make any other path changes? My GameEX install directory is the default. So the script should be fine? --2) Also, by default, my GameEx setup / install in advanced config under advanced has this in "Advanced Mame Settings" -device_video_output fullscreen -quiet -dir_rom "K:\BACKUP\EMULOADER\roms" in your screen shot you have it "blank" Do i take this out? --3) For some odd reason now when I launch GameEX my main monitor shows the GameEx logo that's in the Marqueemaker/My images folder and I can hear GameEx in the background.....? Thx!

Hey Tempest! Awesome thx! I'm totally interested in your project.....even since I set up my dual monitor (about a year ago) I've been dying for someone to come up with stuff in the emulation scene to properly utilize the the coolness of having a second monitor. This guy on the 3D ARCADE forum about a year ago came up with this awesome script for VP that will show the back glass on the second monitor when you launch a table. It's pretty awesome. It utilizes MS Power Point Show. So you actually can add effects to it. But I really wanted a solution for MAME games too. To display the Marquee. My 2nd monitor "sits above my primary monitor" hooked into the wall. So you could see why i wanted the marquee. It would be kinda like standing in front on the cab. I'll give the new version go early this afternoon and report back! Thanks!

Hey Tempest I set this up and it "kinda" works? 1) How do you control "how many" and "which particular" iview32 windows open? By default my top and bottom windows seem to the ones opening up. For me I would just want to use a single iview32 window for the game marquee on my second monitor. 2) Most importantly! How do you get a marquee to show for a particular game? When i launched a game, it just showed the GameEx logo(s)? I was hoping when I launched a mame game "like ms. pacman" the marquee for ms.pacman would automatically display in the ivew32 window. is that not how it works? in the "bottom" config file is put it this way [Open] OpenDir=C:\Marqueemaker\My Images\ OpenIndex=1 [MRUD] Dir1= Dir2=K:\BACKUP\EMULOADER\marquees Dir3=K:\BACKUP\EMULOADER\cpanel Dir4= Dir5= Dir6= Dir7= Dir8= Dir9= Dir10= [Viewing] FitWindowOption=2 UseResample=1 ViewAll=1 ShowHiddenFiles=1 ContextMenu=0 FullScreen=0 FS_RMouse=0 [Resize] ResampleFilter=5 ResizeAspectRatio=1 UseResample=1 Sharpen=0 PercUsed=0 But the marquee for the game doesn't show up. It just stays on the default GameEx logo. 3) When I launch GameEx now it does a couple of weird screen flickers and when GameEx actually executes it minimizes itself to the taskbar. And the iview32 windows show up. And I can see my desktop. I have to then manually click on GameEx in my taskbar to get it to go full screen. thx!

Actually i was looking at that "s-video" port next to the 2 dvi ports on my video card. It looks like a s-video port but the pin configuration looks a little different than a standard s-video input There are more holes. Alpha may be right i may need an adapter? The specs on my card say this: -----Display Connectors: 2 Dual-Link DVI-I, HDTV + TV Out it looks exactly like this http://www.legitreviews.com/images/reviews...7900_GT_DVI.jpg

awesome thx guys. u guys are always helpful. i give it a try tonight and see what happens
-
thx Alpha ill give it a whirl and see how it goes and report back. thx!
-
Hey Tempest, So like if i play a MAME game i can have it automatically display the Marquee display on the second monitor automatically? If that what it can do then heck yeah I'l give it a whirl! Is that what it can do? I was hoping Headkaze was going to add this very cool function to CP WIZARD, but since when you bring up his CP interface it pauses MAME games.

I'm thinking about playing MAME / GameEX on my TV. I have a Nvidia 260GTX video card with an S-video port next to the 2 DVI ports. That s-video port I assume is used for TV out? I can't use the 2 DVI ports because they are used in my dual monitor setup. It is as easy as buying an S-video cable and running it from the video card to the s-video input on my TV? Or is it something totally more complicated? Do you navigate on the TV just like you would on a PC monitor with you mouse? Thanks in advance...

I have a dual monitor setup. What exactly is the run on secondary monitor for? Other than the obvious..... Is there another reason to have it / use it? thx
-
Hi, For some reason my preview videos run a lot slower in GameEx than they do outside of it just running them through a standard video player. I don't remember it doing that before. I think it started a couple releases ago. It's definitely not my rig.... Thx
-
Hey HeadKaze, any chance we would see the ability to leave CPWizard up on a 2nd monitor and it not pausing MAME anytime soon....?
-
hmm what was awhile back...ill have to dig for it later
-
Hey Tempest, Yeah i actually requested this from Tom in GameEx. To be able to have control of a secondary image on the secondary monitor using the extender....but that request got lost in the craziness of the stuff on his plate im sure....id rather actually see this added to CPWizard more so than GameEx....it would be VERY cool for people using dual monitor setups. Actually using dual monitor setup with Visual Pinball with the second monitor displaying the backglass of that table has been the coolest thing ive been able to do thru a funky solution someone posted in the 3D Arcade forums awhile back.....it enhances the experience 1000%
-
Thx for the response Headkaze... Cool! I'm glad you think that's a good idea! I'm sure you had already thought of that though....! Yes, for those of us with a 2nd monitor the ability to run your program "while" playing we be too cool.....! Here's hoping to that you will figure out a way to implement it....!
-
Does anyone know pls? If you can run CPWizard without it "pausing" MAME?
-
But there is not "pause" key option to set in CPWizard..... So you have a way to bring up CPWizard "in-game" without MAME pausing? How pls? Weird thing is....even if i go in CPWizard and change the input "Show Key" and "Exit Key" to new valuez.......for some reason they don't do anything. I still need to hit "P" to bring up CPwizard. Even though i have absolutely nothing binded to "P" in CPWizard.....?
-
I figured i post this here since it a CPWizard post.....i have another post about this too...sry Headkaze i love your program....but one thing confuses me. I'd like to be able to play a game "while viewing" the CPWizard stuff on my second monitor. But CPWizard pauses MAME in order to view it. Is this intended? Or am i missing something obvious? It would be VERY cool to be able to view a control panel or marquee for a certain game on my other monitor "while" playing it. That's what i figured the dual monitor support you added would be for......? thx!
