  1. How can I disable elements such as the "date" or delete images I've added? RMB doesn't open a context menu and delete doesn't seem to work on anything.
  2. I might try that! I'm not much of a great artist but I could come up with something minimalist that scales well to HDTV and widescreen LCD displays for those of us who are cab-less.
  3. Are there any high-resolution 16:9 themes available that are akin to the themes being produced for media frontends like XBMC or MediaPortal? Ones that look kind of like this, with an emphasis on assets that scale well to a 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 aspect ratio.
  4. do the database files update automatically when GameEx updates?
  5. This is just an oddball theory, but do you know if it would be easier to use GameEx as a frontend for VLC or another video player that is capable of changing those things? The idea seems like a bit too much work for so little payoff, though.
  6. I've had several recommendations on how to thoroughly improve the multimedia functions of GameEx but none of them have really been heeded ! a quick list of some key additions though: support for internal/external subtitles that can be activated and disabled while playing the video (also swapping between audio tracks) filename.jpg support for videos instead of searching the internet for cruddy, non-fitting bluray dvd covers being able to disable the 'video information' page and immediately playing the video; or at the very least allowing us to add key, interesting information to it.
  7. Bump. Nobody knows of anything like this?
  8. Pressing the "mode" button on both the wired and wireless Logitech pads swaps the bindings of the left stick with the d-pad.
  9. Another question: is it possible to disable the "video information" page and just play the video immediately after selecting it, or at least have the option to add information to that page?
  10. never regretted buying a gameex key. in fact, gameex is probably the only shareware (is that the right term?) app i've ever liked enough to pay for.
  11. Is it possible at all to play MKV and OGM files in GameEx and to switch between languages/dubs and different subtitles through the interface? I have a lot of different anime and foreign film videos and use GameEx as my primary HTPC frontend. The videos themselves play fine - using the latest Combined Community Codec Pack.
  12. that's C&C, not C&C3
  13. i've been finding psX a little troublesome for gameex - if a game doesn't support analog gamepads then you have to go into the options and manually change it. it defeats the ease of use of the frontend! i wish the emulator team would change that.
  14. psX (the emulator) supports running shortcut .lnks, but when I try to launch them via GameEx (they shortcuts are all zipped up) they don't work - i've got a feeling it has something to do with the syntax of the command line i'm using (i run the CD images directly instead of mounting through daemon tools). i'll have a look into it a bit more, i'm sure there's a way to tweak it around and get it to work.
  15. actually what i was wanting to do, was for all the discs to fall under the one name. so for example Panzer Dragoon RPG discs 1-4 will all come under the one game entry in the list, "Panzer Dragoon RPG" - like what happens if you enable 7zip support and you can choose which file to load from the 7zip archive from a list but under that game's entry. is there a way to do this with .map's? so far i've only been able to get the .map to link to a single-disc.
  16. Does there exist yet any PSX sets of snaps and titles?
  17. just the one, although i wouldn't mind changing if it was necessary. just so long as i dont have to change file location in the cuesheet to a static location (like "C:\games\rom.iso" instead of "rom.iso" - that's not very flexible! means having to change every cuesheet if i change folders)
  18. hi all, i'm currently trying to sort out how to keep multi-disc Saturn/Sega-CD/Playstation etc games under a single game entry. due to the size of CD isos, it is too unfeasible to store them in a 7zip archive. moreover, i tried just storing the cuesheet in a 7z but since it extracts to the Unzipped7-Zip subdirectory, and AFAIK i know you can't have relative paths in the file field of a cuesheet, it can't find the image. that would be okay if you could place all the images in the Unzipped7-Zip folder but it erases the contents of said folder every time you launch a game through GameEx. Are there any other options, for instance, is it possible to manually define multidisc ROMs in GameEx so that it nows to collate them under a single entry?
  19. yeah, they reminded me of hyperspin too. i guess the hyperspin project also takes inspiration from ultracade. how would the themes work? does it change the layout and background for each emulator's page/gamelist?
  20. wait, what exactly are the new database fields that gameex now supports? i didn't find any new fields in the existing databases
  21. so if i were wanting to update the database that comes with gameex for the turbografx-16 games, for example, would i be better off waiting, or just altering/adding the new entries now? i really, really enjoy the sort by genre/manufacturer fields in gameex it makes it more like exploring a library. also, is there any news if gameex is going to be supporting new fields in the future to sort by? it'd be real crazy if it had an "also available for xxx systems", and you could select said system and gameex would jump to that ROM... for example, if you had Snatcher for the Sega-CD, Saturn and PS1, you could jump between all three by viewing the profile. oh the possibilities
  22. Whereabouts does one download this tool? Or is it only available for those participating in the project?
  23. i've just performed a new installation of Windows and have reinstalled GameEx, and was wondering what the most recent and/or updated game databases are; the ones included with gameex, or are there better ones on the forums? i've got some saved to my downloads folder but they were from september of last year. for instance, the ones i downloaded included a "Microsoft Windows/PC Games" database but none is included with gameex.
  24. ahh, i've only played the PAL release. you'd know if it wasn't working properly because everything goes awry as soon as you start the first level (broken water effects and geometry). i'll have to see about getting an NTSC image of it and trying that.
  25. i assume it still requires a SSE2-capable CPU? pity! have to stick with yabause.
