  1. I actually do all my emulators as Brian suggested. I play mainly the USA games. But some games are only available as japanese or European. Each option has its own map file and most of my games I burn to CD. This makes them portable and saves a bunch of hard drive space. Cd games are in folders and the map file displays all the games I have or don't have. The map file shows me the ones I need still and allows me to play the ones I have straight from the cd. If some one is over and wants to play a certain game,we just insert the cd and play.

Thanks for the jpg. Reason I couldn't find the export file is it doesn't exist in the setup wizard. As my config for this emulator was greater then 44, I have been using the wizard rather then the GameEx config. Evening all, Have put all my sega cd & Mega cd games in folders and on discs. I have a map file that shows every game available even if the disc that is currently inserted doesn't have them it. Still trying to figure out how to get the map to read the disc and change the color to the show what is on the currently inserted disc. But that will come in time. My problem is that when the cd game starts I have to hit enter to get past the cd screen I have to do it twice on Mega Cd games. Is there a script etc. that can be inserted on the command line to do this when entering the game. Or maybe something in the launch after.
  6. Already seen that and yes 5 is not enought. Would like to have the 11 like in Mame. But thanks for all your help. Any idea how to answer my other post about map files
  7. Looked at it and yes can change marquee to box back, but it changes every emulator. Arcade emulators have no box backs but consoles have no marquees. You can change one without affecting the others.
  8. Thanks I'm at work now, so when I get home I'll try it. If I understand you correctly, you can add as may other snaps as you like
  9. Would like to see two more items in the second page whne you select a game. 1) a back box picture - Back of box always has a brief explanation of the game 2) Text box showing cheat codes and what they do
  10. I thankful for any help I get. All have been very helpful. Brian has always been there for me.

    Games on CDs

Thought about buying another external drive. (Already running 4 - 500 gigs) Doing the same for my sega cd, saturn, tg16 cd, cdi and 3DO. Based on my calculations I would need a heck of alot of disc space, By putting them on disc, I can save a lot of disc space. I know I could leave on disc and just put on hard drive the ones I play alot. But, its cool when the friends come over to see your big list of what you have to play. Since everyones taste is different, it would be easy just to plop in a cd or dvd to play their favorite games. My thought was, I can run mp3s thru GameEx off of a cd. Treats it like a hard drive. Envisioned a map file that would display all games in the map file in GameEx. When it compared them to the disc, it would color change the ones it matches on the disc in GameEx. That way you would know which ones are available for play. You would also know from the list which games you have from the list. (you would rim out the ones in the map file you don't have so they wouldn't be displayed in the list.) Long term it would be cool to not rim that out but maybe adding the word needed next to the name in the map file so you would know a game exists but you don't have it yet.

    Games on CDs

Thanks for the reply Nologic Acually ripped as CDI. Only Have then on DVD zipped for backups. My thought was to either burn to cd or dvd as straight CDI or as seperate or one big 7zip. Then use these in GameEX. Currently almost have snaps done and will start on titles next.

    Games on CDs

I have recently ripped all my personal Dreamcast Discs (over 600) to use on my computer thru GameEX. My question is due to the large volume of cdi, I have over 40 DVDs zipped. I read you can have your rom directory as a dvd drive. How do I get all the cdi's from all discs ,to show up in Game EX regardless of what disc I have in the drive. Also someone wanted snaps of Dreamcast games. I should have all these soon.
  14. Looks great! any chance of adding to the right of the list boxs to show title screens, box art, cartridges etc.
  15. It worked Brian Thank You
  16. Thanks bRian will give it a shot when I get home
  17. Hi Guys Got Nulldc working, but have no idea how to map the controls to the keyboard. Don't see any conrtol setup in the emulator. After starting the emulator, it asks me to set date and time. No matter which key I hit nothing happens.
  18. Isn't then names in the database the actual rom names. Guess I need to setup Access and check that. I use goodtools and as they are not updated as often as they used to be, i'm always finding games not in the sets. Also there are lots of systems that he doen't support. My idea on the snaps was to add the name or crt number to the database and have them filtered just like the game name. Fairly easy to find the snaps named that way. Offline lists and a few other renamers have a large number of systems setup and they are updated daily and automatedly dl load the snaps.
  19. Have the program, but may not be using right. Doesn't seem to work w/o Access
  20. Love the new databases. Now that we have them I have several questions. It appears GameEx reads your rom folder and matches the roms with the database. It then displays the roms you have with the proper database names. Is it possible to do the opposite. Can GameEx read and display all the roms in the database. Then compare the roms in the roms folder and change the color to show which roms you have and which ones you are missing. On my cabinet I do not have Access to conserve space. Yet GameEx still reads the databases. Is there a program other then Access that can be used within GameEx to edit these Databases. I use Offline List to aduit my roms and download their snaps. Have never been able to get pics to work within GameEx. Can the database be tied in with these lists to show the snaps. Is there going to be a forum where we can submit information to be added to the databases. Within the GameEx community, I feel that we could make one of the most complete games Databases and further enhance GameEx.
  21. Thank you Tom Starbuck
