    Pinball FX2

My cab is online all the time with no virus engine or firewall running Win7. Steam is safe, this site is safe, ipdb, vpf, vpu, and a few more sites I visit on a daily bases to install updates to tables and frontend media ... all safe. PinballX is now logging in for extra features and more to come from what I understand. Why is there such a phobia of the internet leegethas? If you are behind a router you have a firewall and unless you visit sites that are shady or torrent from your cab there is really no reason to not be online. PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX ONE all need to be online to do anything useful so I guess I don't get it. $10 usb wifi adapter is the answer to all your issues here for this post, and you just unplug it when you are not playing it and all is well again. I don't leave my cabinet on when I am not playing or planning on playing it so it is not online when it is off.

    1.75 release

..."Fixed Instructions as PNGs not displaying in multiple monitor setups. For those using athird monitor as a DMD display this version adds an option feature to auto position the PinMAME window on your DMD display. Note if the window is rotated it will be fixed next time you launch the table. If it is still rotated you will need to modify the table. It will be hardcoded there." After the update install I now see my screens minimizing after exiting a table and going back to PinballX. This takes away from the experience a little bit and reminds you that you are still in a Windows environment. Plus the fact that it was not visible before 1.75 Thanks
  4. Not sure this is a feature request or bug report ... lol If I am playing VP without PinballX and I exit the program using the mapped exit key (in my case it is "Q") all the led's and toys shut off. If I am playing from PinballX and I exit VP back to PinballX the Led's and toys will stay on if they are running at the time of exit. I have tried all of the different key mapping that I can think of both in VP and PBX. In my research on this it seems that DOF might not be exiting properly (which kills all the LedWiz on proper exit) thus leaving on whatever was running at the time of table exit back to PBX. In VP on the first press of the exit button a box appears that says return to game, debug, and exit to editor. When I press the same button a second time the table exits to editor and DOF shuts down and the Led's and toys are turned off. So I am not sure how PBXis shutting down VP but it is not allowing DOF to exit properly. I know about ledoff.bat and running it after VP closes but for some reason I can not get any of the .bat files to work on my computer even though they worked with HP before I converted to PBX. New downloads of the files don't even work and no errors are given. Sorry for the long winded post
  5. So I did get it setup and running and it seems to work fine. It seem to take a few reboots to get the flipper buttons mapped properly. Obtaining the resources is not as easy as VP is that is for sure. Thanks for the help
  6. Man I did it again didn't I .... didn't think to look there as I used it for setting up pinball and I guess I did not pay attention to the mame part. Thank you
  7. I am still getting the noobism out of me and my system so be gentle ... I see there is a mame.ini already in the PinballX setup and I was thinking it would be cool to have a few games that I could put on my PinCab that would be easy to control with my button setup (dual flipper buttons) Donkey Kong and Galaga come to mind. Is there a guide to setting this up if I do not have GameEX installed or any mame installed for that matter. Just thought it would be cool if I could do a little shooting and jumping in between playing Vpinball. Thanks for your time
  8. Zeenon, My apologies for saying that you linked to the incorrect post. I leave my browser open and computer running 24/7 because I get pulled away frequently. I had not refreshed the General forum posts and so I missed your post about asking for help. I see that now and it has good information for sure. Still not the easiest thing to do from a mobile device. Thanks
  9. It is the third Sticky post in the PinballX - Pinned and Hot Topics 5 APPENDIX 5.1 Supported Image, Video and Audio formats Table Videos .f4v/.mp4 Backglass and DMD Videos: .mp4/.m4v/.f4v/.flv Gameplay and Tutorial Videos: .mp4/.m4v Startup Videos: .avi/.mpg/.mpeg/.mp4/.m4v/.f4v/.flv Audio: .mp3/.ogg/.wav Wheels: .png All Other Images, .png/.jpg Not easy to find, download or open with a mobile device so maybe just saying ".mp4, and .f4v are the most popular formats and the full list can be found here" Instead of guiding to the incorrect sticky post. Thank you
  10. Can I get a list of Video formats PinballX supports in the DMD, Back Glass, and Table folders? Thanks
  11. On the information tag at the top of the screen while browsing tables you have your name and type and mfg and rating. I have changed my font and it seems that the table names go right off the tag and out the side of the table. I didn't change the size but I did change to sci-fied font. For tables that have longer names we need to fix that please ie: most Zen Marvel tables, Creature from the Black Lagoon, ect ect Also when using the pause button the top selection should be return to table and not exit, as it is now if you double tap or the button push registers 2 inputs you loose the game. Thank you
  12. Solved! So after messing around last night I seem to have found the correct setup to make it work... also thanks to imagamejunky for his exit explanation in post 81 ... I do not run in offline mode as Steam is closing out properly when using exit in this fasion. It was still in my taskbar so I didn't think it was closing, turns out that it is just a ghost icon as it disappears when moused over. Big THANKS to all that helped in this thread. If anyone needs help I can try to assist now that I have been through it.
  13. https://www.dropbox.com/s/v7e66v4xodee22i/Error%20log.png I was able to capture a screen of the error for the last crash..... any help would be awesome
  14. Ok update I can launch any table I want but if I leave the table play something else not PBFX2 and then come back to a zen table it errors out as it is already running. We need to find a way to kill steam after you exit PBFX2. Edit: never mind .... PinX is still randomly either minimizing or closing out all together when launching PBFX2 tables ... where is open6l? ... his YouTube video shows it all running but not sure if he exits back into PinX and the goes into PBFX2 again? zeenon ... your post about getting rid of steam and going back to the stand alone ... are you using steam or not? well I think this is enough for one night ...
  15. Well now that is one clean install ... awesome work ! I need to make a build post one of these days but I would just like it to work right ... lol Here you can laugh and my "neat" mess https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qyyzgwew645n89p/9D_xD-yvKm
  16. Thanks Tom ... Chrome or Firefox work Better maybe?
  17. So I changed the mapping around in Settings.exe of PinX so that my PinCab Exit button is now set to use pause which does in fact bring up the menu that lets me select to exit, resume, instructions, ect ect Thank you for the tip ... the next cab I build will not have all the buttons cause PinballX ROOOCKS! and they will be counter sunk so they are flush
  18. I almost have it down ... just need a little more help..... when I select a table from PinX it goes to the loading screen then the PinX app (PF Video BG image and DMD) minimize to taskbar and the PF music continues to play. But as that is happening Zen launches and selects the correct table. I can play the table fine but trying to exit gives me a error that PBFX2 has stopped working, All that time PinX is running the music from the table video in the background I have to click on it with a mouse to bring it back into focus. I can then continue to use the flippers to make a different table selection. Also you have your working file and table file on your "D" drive while mine is in the standard c>program x86>steam>steamapps ...bla bla bla so I have mine pointing to where it is installed... is this not right? OK Zen.xml is a custom whatever but Do I have to have that file? I renamed it so it would not show up in game manager. And why the H@#$ will it not let me copy and paste anything or add a picture or link anything in this forum post from any computer but I can do all of that from tapatalk on my phone? lonnngg day with the kids and this is driving me nuts ... lol ok breathing again ... I think the connection between the keyboard and the floor is faulty!
  19. I have 6 buttons on my cab ... my launch ball button - this is mapped to the keyboard enter key ... below that is the flyer button mapped to the F key .... left hand is Start mapped to key 1 above the q ... extra ball is next mapped to key 2 above the w .. exit/pause button mapped to e key ... last one is How to Play button mapped to the i key. When I press the exit/pause button from inside VP / FP it takes me right back to the PinX wheel no other choices are available .. So it sounds like I don't have the keys mapped correctly in the PinX setup ... I will play with that next. Thank you for the help ... Zen is the next project to make work ;-)
  20. I would like to see this also ... a single press of the exit button pauses the the game/table and holding the exit button down it goes to exit in a countdown like Hyperpin. "Exiting Table in 3 2 1 " Need this because of less buttons but mostly if someone leans or bumps into buttons on accident you loose your killer score you had going. Also happens to be the perfect height for my 2 year old to push ... lol Thanks Tom Edit ... thanks to Zeenon in a different thread ... if you set the exit button to the pause key press you will get a menu popup that will allow you to resume, exit, ect. So that is cool.

  22. With the baby up most of the night I didn't have a chance to get anything done except read the .doc ... I will try tonight again but it looks like I have everything in place except your ahk files. Did you say that your pinball fx2.exe and ahk includes Dr. Strange also looka like I am missing the new starwars pack in the .ini ... will have to correct that also as I do own all the tables
  23. Thank you for the help, I will have a go at it again tonight. I have the steam version as I don't own and don't plan to own Win8 beta testing was enough for me... lol Zeenon is it possible for you to link the document you are referring to? I have looked at many different posts and pinned docs so I am not sure of what one you are referring. Thank you
  24. I am having trouble with getting this to work ... I have spent time reading and researching and trying all of the suggestions here (over the last 3 days)and so far I can not get PBFX2 to launch from PinballX . I have just migrated from Hyperpin and I really like all the features and options. But why is it so hard to get PBFX2 to work? I have got all the videos and DMD and Table and back glass stuff from the FTP and it is all working great. The Script area is a mess BTW can we fix it so someone new coming in knows which is the latest .exe and .ahk file ... I mean really, a date on a file so hard? Also is anyone updating this thread? As suggested before ... can we get all the most recent and CORRECT information on post 1 so new people don't have to wonder who's fix is the most recent or correct. Why is all the data on the FTP different? Example is all of the media is labeled correctly ...but in the xml files the descriptions are all messed up...,. some with no spaces some with underscores some with just hyphen ... Someone new coming in will be lost. Why is there 2 different .xml files? One labeled Pinball FX2.xml and one Zen.xml? As they both have the exact same information, why do I need them both? I would love to be able to copy and paste my log file or setup system 1 but that feature is not working for me here either ... probably just me not knowing how to do a simple copy and paste. using Win 7 64bit and a 3 monitor cab setup. I have Pinball FX2 setup as a .fpt and it works great but I would like to be able to launch to a specific table from PinballX wheel. I guess teamviewer would be the best bet. East coast N. America time for me. normally available from 9pm to 2am est thanks for listening and the information so far
