Mine worked rather quickly ... I think you need to go into PX setup and put your login info and enable it ... it is like the 5th page in the setup.exe You will then need to run PinballX, and after a few seconds you will see a text scroll up from the bottom saying you are logged in ... it also plays a little chime sound. Next you need to play a game .... then exit and go to the forums and see if it updated in one of your posts.

The LedWiz is shutting off for me perfectly as that was my main concern and untill I read this topic I did not know about the games not saving consistently.
-
100% fixed ... I am using the file from post #55 and have set my pause and exit keys to "E" instead of "Q" and it WORKS. Save games 100% of the time of the 6 I was able to get a high score. Just a note that this is with DX9 test build 11 but I don't think that makes a difference. I can now use my Run After command for something else ... ledblinky to have an attract mode with music Thanks Tom and randr for working this out. Love PinballX and the great support.

Sales on drives at newegg every other day the latest I looked at was 142 for a 4tb drive. Just saying

Alright I will try that tomorrow thanks

Using your last test file from post #46 and using the final version of VP 9.2.1 found here http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=8792 I am still not able to save high scores consistently and it is still not letting go of the LedWiz last commands on exit. I have tried to change the pause and exit to the same key "Q" in my case and it still will not kill the LedWiz. I have also been running the DX9 Beta build 11 tonight. I think that the DX9 is ready for me to run full time as it makes everything so much smoother and game play is way more consistent. I have only come across a few minor graphical glitches on the 140 tables I run. I would like to tell you Tom that this fixes my issues but it does not. I understand that you can not invest time into testing betas as they will surely change but I just thought I would note this. Thanks for looking into this Tom

You don't need to know anything about Linux to run the latest FreeNAS. Think of it as a new piece of software that you get to play with. I have not seen or used anything inside FreeNAS that screams Linux as they has it very streamlined. It is a complete OS of sorts and you do access it over you lan from another computer. Very easy and hey if you don't like it your out nothing but a afternoon of time. Go to the official website and read about it. You will love the "drive pool" storage management system that is in place.

I was in the same boat as you hansolo77, I was still holing onto the WHS ver1 as I loved the drive pool feature. A month ago I had my two year old push the battery backup supply "pretty blue" button and crashed the system hard. All the data I had backups for so no loss there, but the OS was toast with no way to recover and save data. So my search began for a replacement. I also used my server for MyMovies database and media extenders connected to it to serve movies to all tv's in the house. I did two things .. I spent the money on a Netgear ReadyNAS 4 bay bare unit and populated it with 4-4tb drives .... on sale it was $800 total ... that was money well spent as I have had nothing but good experience with it so far. Loads of free apps and features and easy to use. They even have a dropbox like photo sharing app that is rather slick. So after that I was wondering what to do with the old hardware I had in the WHS case. Well after doing some more research I downloaded FreeNAS. I had uaed that software years ago and was not impressed and so I built the WHS ver1 unit. I was amazed at how well FreeNAS has advanced it does everything so well that now I regret spending that money on the ReadyNAS. I have 8tb on the FreeNAS and 12tb on the ReadyNAS both using a drive pooling raid5 hybrid file structure (one calls it XRAID and the other calls it something very simular) I think that FreeNAS has more apps available for it but it seems that the forums for FreeNAS are very technical and very programmer specific. So it was hard for me to get it up and running without a few errors. The Netgear ReadyNAS unit is very simple and easy to use and a bit on the entry level basic side. So there you go for a couple of ideas that I was forced into thanks to MS and my son .. lol

I was not rushing at all and in fact Tom took time for me a couple weeks ago to figure out a stupid mistake I made. Heck, I am probably wrong about this also but it was related so I wanted to report my findings. Great work and thanks Tom

Just to add a comment to this ... I have only been using PinX since 1.74 but the way that it shuts down VP is not working correctly as it does not allow DOF to exit properly meaning that VP was not shut down correctly. This means that the command to kill the LedWiz, that comes from DOF, never happens and so whatever toys were running when you exited the table back to PBX continue to run until the next table is selected. If you run only VP this works correctly by hitting the "Q" 2 times. Not to hijack the thread but these two are linked issues and also after reading this I tested again and only 25% of the time the high score saves. Out of 10 games played and high scores made 2 of them saved. All 5 games only in VP saved just fine. I would like to see this fixed as this is the second time I have posted about VP not exiting correctly even though the Frontend works fine.

Zeenon, Yes I think that is how it works ... you start out with whatever team you choose to buy (I read someplace that a portion of the money goes to the team .... don't know if I believe that) Then you can unlock the rest by progressing on the table ... I also read that you could buy them also but the tables are all the same just different artwork. Thanks for the file!

Hey Tom ... Thank you and I am sorry to put you through all that .... I run Win7 but I run Basic Theme with no Aero .... a few weeks back I made a new desktop background and set it to the wallpaper, then I did not get to play for about a week. I did not tie the two events together. When I changed the wallpaper something changed my other animation settings and that is why I now see the windows closing animation. Thank you for the time spent and helping me look into the correct fix.

Just wondering if anyone has bought the table and plans on uploading to the FTP with the DMD and back glass images. Also the AHK for selecting the table ... I tried for a second time tonight to make the proper file but it seems my grasp on coding is non-existent ... I have a ton on my plate right now and I wish I had more time to learn it ... I would really appreciate anyone's time on this .... Thank you BTW the new table is cool ... I mean I was not really impressed with the release of it but I do like the way it plays and the ball is cool moving around the table.. I went with the Zen team as I do not follow any sports but I do not care what BG and DMD team I end up with anything is better than Desktop Background.

I was able to play for about a half hour with this file Tom, sorry to say that it did not help. It is doing the same thing it was in the video link I posted. I played 5 different tables and exited completely out PinballX one time to see if it mattered and it does not.

Ok so it is when I first push my exit button when PinballX brings up the menu for exit - resume that I see each screen window minimizing to the task bar for only a second ... I will make a video here shortly. Thank you Tom for looking at this as it is really not a huge problem but more of a "hey why is it doing that now"

Agreed, as I hate to be forced into doing anything also. I remember when Steam was first rolled out and people laughed at it saying it would never make it .... lol
-
. . I do not see this at all ... I think I am not looking in the right spot maybe? Also I notice now that it is all 3 screens that seem to be minimizing to taskbar ... I see that happening now as I have had time to play it more

I did not change any settings in the setup after the install ... let me check and see what it is set for ...
