  2. Hi all, does anyone have a Hires frontview image of the gameboy classic? The ones on the net I can find have a max resolution of app. 400x800 Cheers, Arjen

  4. Hi all, I have a very strange problem with the Sega Genesis Database. I have named all my Genesis roms correctly to match the names in the database ( [Console] Sega Genesis ). No problems there. Upon scanning my games I noticed a strange error. The first five games starting with the letter "G" (Gadget Twins / Gaiares / Galaxy Force II / General Chaos / Ghostbusters) are not linked with the entry in the database, (and I checked the correct ROM names) The most strange thing is this: when I remove ANY of these five game ROM's (not the database entry), no matter which one, the remaining four are then suddenly linked correctly. As soon as I put the removed game back, the game info for all five games is blank again. ?????? All the other Genesis games are linked correctly, the problem only occurs with these five games. I am stumped, and don't know how to solve this ( besides throwing one of these five games out, but there should be a better solution). Can anyone help me with this, or at least explain why this error is happening? Thanks in advance for your help, Arjen
  5. Thanks Draco, until now I never really used the theme editor, but I see now what I missed out on. Regards, Arjen
  6. Hi all, after the new update, the title of the current emulator is on the bottom of the screen. Is it possible to switch this off? I use Acidbrain's theme, and the text is interfering with the screens of the theme (see picture) I searched the advanced setup functions but couldn't find this option. Any ideas?
  7. Thanks Wubble, exactly what I was looking for.. Cheers, and more suggestions are welcome Arjen
  8. Hi all, I recently started a project to add an image of a game magazine review for each game. Back in the days I devoured issues like C&VG, The Games Machine, Zero and The One. I found some sites on the net with scans of game magazines. I thought I would share them with you, and I would like to know if anyone knows of any other sites with scanned games magazines. The two sites I found so far are these: - Amiga Magazine Rack - World of Spectrum Archives , also accessible via FTP (much faster, but mind the fair use policy or you will be banned for 24 hours) on ftp.worldofspectrum.org Lots of nostalgia can be found there, as well as every issue of C&VG and The Games Machine ! I hope to find more of these sites, so if anyone could give me some pointers I would be grateful. Regards, Arjen

    Feature suggestion

OK, figured it out, andit was my bad, as usual.. In the advanced config, named the custom art name as "Magazine Review", set the custom art path to the scans folder, et voila. Works like a charm. Thanks Obi-Wan...may the force be with you, Arjen

    Feature suggestion

Ok, I wasn't aware of that possibility. I am toying with it right now, but I can't really figure out how to get it to work. For example I would like to add a scan from a magazine review to my Amiga game "Blood Money" In the advanced configuration of WinUAE I set the custom art path tot the folder where I keep the scan. I named the .jpg file of the scan exactly after the ROM of the "Blood Money" game. Despite all this I can't see the scan in Gameex when I open the info page of Blood Money. Do I need to do anything else? Regards, Arjen
  11. Hi Tom, Would it possible to implement a feature so you can add additional documents to a game? It would be nice to include a scan of a magazine review, a game guide and such to some games. Also would it be possible to decrease the size of the manuals when viewed with the manual viewer? I get a larger than life picture when opening a manual, which is difficult to read. As far as I can see there is no option to zoom out? I don't know how much effort this all would be, but I'm just curious if any other users would find this useful features. Regards, Arjen
  12. Just upgraded to a new laptop with an Intel SSD for windows...what can I say....WOW. Booting in approximately 10-15 seconds. Arjen
  13. Thanks bkenobi, I'll give it a shot. Regards, Arjen
  14. Hi all, I am adding pictures with the controls for each emulator. With regular emulators, you just add the path to the "Controls Path" setting. No problems there. With Daphne this option is not available. Is this not possible or is there another way tot do this? Greetings, Arjen

    Wrapper issue

Hey thanks Frequency, putting the wrapper in the "Launch After" line solved the issue, now working as it should. Also exiting is not a problem, just hitting ESC returns to Gameex Thanks again, Arjen
  17. Is this also possible with Mame32?

    Wrapper issue

Thanks for the suggestion Tempest, but unfortunately it didn't work. I think the wrapper doesn't accept command line options like Rompath and Ronfile. Regards, Arjen

    Wrapper issue

Hi all, I have a couple of LCD games that I would like to run via GameEx. The LCD games are made by a guy named Madrigal, and he also made a wrapper for use with frontends. This wrapper bypasses the intro screen of the LCD emulator and starts it right away. So I put the wrapper in the "Launch before" line , and the wrapper starts OK. After that it hangs, and the ROM never starts, probably waiting for the wrapper to end. This is my config file: [Emulator_3] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=LCD Games TITLETEXT=LCD Games StartPageLogo= ROMFilter=*.lnk RomPath=D:\Emulation\LCD\Shortcuts RomsInFolders=True SnapPath=D:\Emulation\LCD\Artwork\Screenshot TitlePath= BoxPath=D:\Emulation\LCD\Artwork\Box CartPath=D:\Emulation\LCD\Artwork\Cartridge ManualPath= ControlPanelPath= InstructionsPath= WorkingPath=D:\Emulation\LCD\Shortcuts MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=True Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=[ROMPath]\[ROMFile] LaunchBefore=D:\Emulation\LCD\Wrapper\MADWrapper.exe LaunchAfter= configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= DontShowInfo= PlaySelectionMusic= SelectionMusicFolder= PCGame= DATABASE= UseDbName=False GamesIn7Zips= MergeSets= PlayInScreenSaver= ShowMostPlayed= RandomMostPlayed= CDCheck= CDCheckFile= lastgame= I included the wrapper as an upload, so maybe someone can help me with this? Thanks, Arjen MADWrapper.rar
  20. Bullseye again Brian, your nickname is well deserved I see. I didn't know this was possible with Daphneloader, but your solution was spot on, problem solved. Thanks again, Arjen
  21. There is a problem when I try to run the game "Badlands" on Daphne. When started with Daphneloader the sound is allright, but when started under GameEx there is just a split second of intro sound, then the sound stops playing during the intro movie. When you insert a coin and start playing the sound is normal again. Not a very big issue, but I would like to get rid of it anyhow. Does anybody else experience this with "Badlands" and has a solution? Cheers, Arjen
  22. As I thought...an easily solved issue. Removing the -nohwaccell option cured it. Thanks Brian... Aaah..it's good to be back Greetings, Arjen
  23. Hi all, been gone for a while, but I'm back toying with GameEx and emulators. I have a brand new lapop with Windows 7 x64, and it is a lot of fun to get all the emulators running again under GameEx. I had Daphne running nicely under GameEx on my previous notebook with windows XP. I copied the settings to my new notebook, but I can't get Daphne to load. When I use Daphneloader there are no problems, every game works OK. When I try to start Daphne with GameEx I hear all the sounds, but I get a black screen. Normally this points to an issue with "Show Desktop", but there is no such option with Daphne. My current Daphne config is as follows: [Daphne] UseDaphne=True DaphnePath=D:\Emulation\Daphne DaphneExe=Daphne.exe DaphneSnap=D:\Emulation\Daphne\Artwork\screenshot DaphneOptions=vldp -fullscreen -x 640 -y 480 -nohwaccel Enabled_1 =True ROMName_1 =lair GameName_1 =Dragon's Lair GameOptions_1 =-framefile d:\emulation\daphne\framefile\dl_framefile.txt Enabled_2=False ROMName_2 =sae GameName_2 =Space Ace GameOptions_2 =-framefile g:\daphne\mpeg\ace_framefile.txt Enabled_3=False ROMName_3 =astron GameName_3 =Astron Belt GameOptions_3 =-framefile g:\daphne\mpeg\abelt_framefile.txt Enabled_4=False ROMName_4 =cliff GameName_4 =Cliff Hanger GameOptions_4 =-framefile g:\daphne\mpeg\cliff_framefile.txt Enabled_5=False ROMName_5 =cobraab GameName_5 =Cobra Command GameOptions_5 =-framefile g:\daphne\mpeg\cc_framefile.txt Enabled_6=False ROMName_6=cobraab GameName_6=Cobra Command GameOptions_6=-framefile h:\daphne\mpeg\cc_framefile.txt Enabled_7=False ROMName_7=cobraab GameName_7=Cobra Command GameOptions_7=-framefile h:\daphne\mpeg\cc_framefile.txt Enabled_8=False ROMName_8=cobraab GameName_8=Cobra Command GameOptions_8=-framefile h:\daphne\mpeg\cc_framefile.txt Enabled_9=False ROMName_9=cobraab GameName_9=Cobra Command GameOptions_9=-framefile h:\daphne\mpeg\cc_framefile.txt Enabled_10=False ROMName_10=cobraab GameName_10=Cobra Command GameOptions_10=-framefile h:\daphne\mpeg\cc_framefile.txt Enabled_11=False ROMName_11=cobraab GameName_11=Cobra Command GameOptions_11=-framefile h:\daphne\mpeg\cc_framefile.txt Enabled_12=False ROMName_12=cobraab GameName_12=Cobra Command GameOptions_12=-framefile h:\daphne\mpeg\cc_framefile.txt GameName_23= Enabled_13=False ROMName_13= GameName_13= GameOptions_13= Enabled_14=False ROMName_14= GameName_14= GameOptions_14= Enabled_15=False ROMName_15= GameName_15= GameOptions_15= Enabled_16=False ROMName_16= GameName_16= GameOptions_16= Enabled_17=False ROMName_17= GameName_17= GameOptions_17= Enabled_18=False ROMName_18= GameName_18= GameOptions_18= Enabled_19=False ROMName_19= GameName_19= GameOptions_19= Enabled_20=False ROMName_20= GameName_20= GameOptions_20= Enabled_21=False ROMName_21= GameName_21= GameOptions_21= Enabled_22=False ROMName_22= GameName_22= GameOptions_22= Enabled_23=False ROMName_23= GameOptions_23= DaphneFlyer=D:\Emulation\Daphne\Artwork\flyers DaphneCabinet=D:\Emulation\Daphne\Artwork\cabinets DaphneTitle=D:\Emulation\Daphne\Artwork\titles DaphneMarquee=D:\Emulation\Daphne\Artwork\marquees DaphnePanel=D:\Emulation\Daphne\Artwork\cpanel UseGamepad=True LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= I'm pretty sure I am overlooking a simple thing, does anybody have any idea what that might be? Cheers, Arjen
  24. Unless you REALLY like the Wing Commander series. The First Wing Commander was recreated on the 3DO, and had a lot of graphic extra's. It is reasonably playable, with only some sound skipping and minor graphics issues. I have FreeDO running in Gameex with only this one game.... just to make the collection complete.. Arjen
  25. I second that, a wrapper would be nice.. Arjen
