    Sound Issue

Updated again. And I found MY error and it's my fault. Somehow I changed it the MAME AUDIO MODE to Play MAME with no sound. Sorry for the idiocy on my part. One question or suggestion. Is it possible to change it so that when using a drop down, the options are fully displayed? On my cabinet, I have a tv so I thought it was just my resolution that prevented me from reading all of the text on a given line. When I installed GameEx on my family pc to read the choices, I realized that I couldn't read it all there either. Again, sorry for the problems. I should have looked at that before posting. Thanks for great program.

    Sound Issue

I recently updated from GameEx 8.07 (?) to 8.40. And I updated Mame from .94 to 1.17. I had a few little things to fix and all are fine now except I no longer have sound while playing a game. I hear everything fine in GameEx so I assume it's something Mame related. I am attaching my mame.ini file. I can post my GameEx log of whatever if that will help. I tried changing the "volume" line from 0 to 1 then to 76 (random number) but it didn't help. Was there a change between .94 and 1.17 related to this issue? I follow most of the updates and don't remember sound being listed. Any suggestions on what I need to look for? I've tried pressing = while in a game to increase the volume with no effect either. 4. And I certainly appreciate your help in trying to get this from MikeQ. Quite frankly, its frustrating that he nor Randy would release it. And if Andy's board can do a better job than Randy's, I will get one. Thanks for all your work on this Headkaze!

    pong

I bought mine at Radio Shack in the late 70's... It had two controls. One was on the base unit that allowed you to select the games etc, and the other was much smaller and was detachable from the base unit. Had that until we got an Intellivision.
  6. You definitely do NOT want to Pause the game before hitting TAB. That causes problems. Just let them game run in demo mode while you setup the controls. Before you do that though, what type of controls (encoder, keyboard hack?) are you using? If you open notepad (if windows), do the buttons show up there when hit?

    Key Mapping

Within a game (any game), you hit TAB, and select Input all games. Scroll to P4 and change what you want. Hit enter on P4 Up and then move your P4 Joy Up. Go to the next one and repeat. OR you can use the WinIpac software available on Andy's site and change the default keys for P4. If you need more help, check out BYOAC - arcadecontrols.com. Searching for key mapping will probably give you lots of threads. Post here if you need more help too. DON"T hit pause while in the game before you hit tab. That causes problems!
  8. Circo over at BYOAC was working on this. Torrents were up but I can't get to his site now. It's being re-directed.... Check out this thread: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=63953.0 I believe that is what you are looking for.
  9. Thanks Headkaze!! All your work is sincerely appreciated on this.
  10. I didn't think I had many/any custom key mappings but I looked in my config folder and there were quite a few there. I moved that folder out, restarted, and everything was fine. I certainly appreciate your help and the plugin is awesome! Does this mean, though, that I can't use any customer configs? I'll modify a couple of "minor" things and see if/when it gives me the error again. Thanks Headkaze!
  11. I am running registered GameEx. I updated HK's LED plugin from 1.87 to 1.90. When the system boots, I receive the following error. Once I hit "OK", the error comes back up 4 more times. After the last one, GameEx loads normally and the functionality appears normal. I don't mind using 1.87 but I wanted to report what was happening for review. I am pretty sure that there were no other changes to my system other than that change to 1.90. The plugin is great! I am, though, using the Groovy Game Gear Novagem's with the LED-Wiz, not the Electric Ice buttons. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. 12. Do you know what version of the drivers you are using? There is a known issue with certain Nvidia drivers. Check the FAQ if you haven't already. I am using a GeForce 3 TI 200 and I don't have any issues with GameEx. It's been awhile since I bought this card so I don't remember if its any better than the Geforce 4, but I didn't think it is. I would try checking on that before you go buy a new card.
