    Mame Question

Post again when you understand the problem not when you think anyone else has to. It's not something that Tom has to figure out.
  2. A lot of games from that time frame, and on, are still in operation today in various places (arcades, bars etc). Mamedev won't emulate games that are still making money. It keeps Mame under the radar a little bit more and keeps everyone off their backs.
  3. You mean there are more websites around than just GameEx? When did that happen? And who should have sent out a memo about it?

    Emulator Logos

I have a few console emulators on my pc. GameEx is showing the logo for a couple but not for some others. I went into the Config, selected my emulator, then it has a spot for the logo. If I click on the button on the right with the question marks, it tells me the logo must be a png (I think) or jpg and go in my GameEx/Media/Logo folder. I didn't have that folder so I created it and moved the proper logo in. What's bothering me is that 4 of the 6 show the proper logo. Is there someplace else that I should put the logos? I've looked but couldn't find another folder that I thought would be correct (and that have the 4 logos in them already that are working). I'm running the most recent version of GamEx (registered), XP SP2 etc. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. And I will apologize in advance for overlooking the most basic thing that I am sure I am missing. Cheers!
  6. I have an S3 Virge card in my step-sons computer. I had a TNT2 for a long time also. Brian's right, it is a good card. Glad you got it working.
  7. Holy cow. I thought I had an old card with an Nvidia GeForce TI 200. I haven't heard of a TNT2 probably this century. Definitely check out the thread about if GameEx is sluggish or slow: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=138 I wouldn't think that the TNT card would be able to handle much of GamEx or at least not very well. How do you have your arcade monitor hooked up to the video card?
  8. Go over to BYOAC and check out the B/S/T thread. You can check with Ponyboy or Divemaster127 to see what their prices are for it. The are Happ distributors and are much cheaper than Happ for parts AND shipping. You can also post and ask if anyone has one for sale. Good luck.
  9. Most people change their IPac programming so that P1 Start and P2 Start DON'T exit a game. If you are playing a game with someone and you both hit Start to re-enter the game, BOOM you are now out of the game. I have a dedicated exit button but if you don't then you should still change it to something other than P1 and P2 Start Buttons.
  10. Hey, we're on tape delay in the US so don't tell us what happens. Happy New Year (in a few more hours)!
  11. Happ Controls shipping prices are outrageous compared to most vendors. Instead of ordering directly from them, you can contact several vendors through Build Your Own Arcade Controls at www.arcadecontrols.com. In the Buy/Sell/Trade thread, Divemaster 127 and Ponyboy carry the Happ parts and can get almost everything at much, much lower shipping costs.
  12. You can read details here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=72444.0 Short summary: They haven't been shipping products in a timely manner (even for them), have been blaming other vendors (Happ Controls, Ultimarc, etc) and are continuing with their history of poor communication. They may be bought out which would be good for anyone in limbo waiting on a product that they paid for that has not been delivered yet. Edit: Orclord beat me to it...
  13. I don't know whats worse... having Enya on your computer or not knowing that Doom 3 was made by id not Valve. Just kidding. Ok, not really! Good luck getting this fixed.
  14. Try this thread: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...amp;#entry25201
  15. I had actually thought the same thing but wasn't sure if it was possible or how difficult it would be to implement.
  16. Under the Profile Editor, if I select MAME, is there a way that I can only see my favorites? Ideally, I would like to see just those to make it easier for any custom configs that I have setup. With 10+ Golden Tee games, its difficult to find the right one that I play consistently. Puzzle Bobble is another example. It'd be easier if I could select it from my favorites list as opposed to printing it all out and making sure I found the right one. No biggie if thats not possible though. I really like this!
  17. Ah, I didnt think of that.... Very nice. WOW. I mean, its instant gratification if you will that you have it the way you want it. AMAZING HK!
  18. Got everything working again! Thanks Headkaze. Now I need to go fiddle around in controls.xml. I really appreciate all the hard work you do!
  19. Thanks. It's not a big deal but it would make it easier. Certainly doesn't stop me from using it.
  20. SIGH Once again during work... Time to get sick and get outta this place! Thanks Headkaze. One suggestion if I may... I have a 27" tv in my cabinet. When I select configure on the LED plugin from the Plugins main menu, the window that opens is not re-sizable. I realize that his is a minor issue, but I end up having to move the window around quite a bit to see the buttons at the bottom and to be able to select one (save and exit). I realize a part of this is the resolution that I run windows in (very poor resolution but its the best I can do). Just curious if the window can be resized at all? Love the program so far. Didn't get much time to play yet, but hopefully tonight and this weekend.
  21. I think its pretty inconsiderate of you to post this before I have to go to work. Now I have to take a half day off work just to play. You could be a little more focused on what you are doing please. Errrr, I mean, I love taking off work almost as much as I love your additions to GameEx. VERY COOL!!! Thanks Headkaze!!!!!

  23. scratching my dome trying to figure out what you guys are talking about...
  24. Been awhile since I used it, but SiSoft Sandra is free. Not all features are available, but it tests almost everything. Not sure if there is anything better now or not. May be worth a shot.
  25. You probably want to post this at BYOAC. www.arcadecontrols.com If so user u_rebelscum will answer and, trust me, he will give you the right answer. He knows more than almost anyone the ins and outs of the Mame code excluding Aaron. Here are a few things to look at from some of his posts regarding .118 and higher: Quote Other thing to clarify: Setting the lightgun device to lighgun, overcome to the lightgun setting (1 or 0), so your lightguns would work with lightgun=0 and lightgun_device lightgun. But be careful with games like Operation Thunderbolt and Terminator, games that use a joystick instead of a lightgun. In this case, lightgun must be 1. Or set adstick_device lightgun (probably want to do this in the game's ini file instead of mame.ini, though). He also mentioned some differences between command line mame and Mame 32. May be worth looking into.
