Uninstalled Gameex, ran new exe and it gives me an error so I tried troubleshoot compatibility win7 test again it failed that test. Is coding for you guys really this complicated per machine. When I uninstall I think it leaves some of a previous installtion on so I changed that to Gameex_w so it wouldn't find that and it is still giving me an error. Are these not full installations maybe I wasn't supposed to do a blank install I will change it back to Gamebase and reinstall.

I also now get before I start an error is encounterd Gameex is shutting down so I can't even open it now.
-
I turned the touch screen off. Black is ON White is Off correct? Also I managed to get it to post an error so I am sending my updated logs. I managed to get it to behave worse it only now finds 98 games. So I hope this helps. Thanks for the advice Is there a particular theme or that works best. Because things change so much it is probably hard for the developers to keep up with the changes. GameEx.ini log.txt

I have the same issue Is your PC Amd based? Does this make a difference? I am struggling to get gameex to work on my system. It only recognizes 124 the gun games and I don't own a gun so I don't play those. I'll get to the bottom of it but there needs to be a coherent write up of difficulties people encounter. To which I am kind of contributing. Mame is not finding anything else wierd becauses Mame independantly works..

This morning I tried again same issue Gameex finds 124 games but will not find the majority of them. Verify roms is off. Amd is off any other ideas thanks?

Adultry I start at something and work on getting things running for a time. But now I have very few things left to make work right on my arcade so I will get Gameex to work. I had issues with my old computer and got rid of that one but I am bound and determined to get Gameex to work. There has to be an explanation. Thanks for the help also. It still performs weird.

Here is my Gameex.ini . I also deleted it but it seemed as if much of the functionality of Gameex disappeared. I thought it would automatically rebuild it but that isn't what seems to happen. iT'S STRANGE Game ex configuration screen does the first two fine then it kicks me back to the configuration screen and I start all over but I can continue but Mame never finds my roms and the emulators are not being built either I find this behavior strange. When I attempt to run Gameex now I am getting an unknown system dialogue box followed by a match the appropriate game followed by a listing of one game but Gameex won't even open now. It traps my mouse so I am unable to continue further so I have to caltdel to shut that part down.

I reset everything to the R:\ which is where my Mame is located and I got a box that says unknown system error that shows that MameUI has been invoked so I closed that and will report what happens

The set up wizard is what's behaving strange. That above paragraph illustrates my experience with it. I get past the 1st two advanced pages then it returns me to the select the wizard again screen. I have re-duplicated the same experience with multiple trials of install and uninstall. So should I change compatibility?

It seems like when I go into the configuration section that the first two screens go OK than I get sent back to the gameex config page and I have to re-enter the config section again and it never works right. I have encountered this before but can't remember how I fixed it. I tried installing Game ex in compatibility mode I'm using 8.1 8 but should I reinstall it in Win7 compatibility. I really like this program but the setups aren't smooth and I don't know why. I also turned AMD evolution off or does that not matter any more?

I looked at the customize text and cannot find a turn off verifying roms switch. Where is it?
-
I just looked and I am not sure how to switch verify roms. It doesn't seem to be on the customize to mame pages.
-
How do I turn off vaerify roms is it one of the pages in the config? I will look for it now. Thanks

Here is the log file but I am not sure what the inifile is log.txt

Oh I am running Mame 161

I was able to get past 55% by hitting Alt Enter to shrink my screen size and then I got most Mame roms were recognized. but it is only finding the Gun games. Ho9w do I send you my log (where are they) and ini (I don'[t know what you mean?
-
Sorry I had to prepare quite a lot of stuff so now I am back and determined to resolve this issue. First order of business is how do I send you the log and ini. Isn't that the Mame exe program?
-
I installed GameEx on my Win8.1 AMD FX 8320 computer and it hangs at 55% which I then use Alt Enter to make the screen smaller and eventrually it tells me it found most of my roms. But when I rerun GameEx I only get the shooting games. What switches do I need to change. I have had this issue on another computer and there was a psot that explained how to fix it but I can't find it. Thanks in advance.

I have installed GameEx on several computers and often it hangs at 55% so I used Alt enter to make the display smaller. Eventually I get supposedly that GameEx recognizes the roms and that most of them work. But when I start GameEx I only get the shooting games and nothing else is showing up in the list. If I run the update list I keep getting this same result? I am using an AMD FX 8320 with Gameex I also turned off the AMD evolved watcher.
-
I didn't have the gaming evolved program loaded. Also I didn't try the Amd omega driver either but I could not get gameex to verify the roms correctly so I deleted it and will reinstall it and see what happens.
-
Gameex crashes immediately after I open it. I was going to try to find the log for mame but it asks me to immediately update my list which hits 55% and after that nothing. I can't make any selections it starts to update the list and stops.

I recently bought a new computer that is far more powerful an AMD fx 8320 with R7 Graphics. I also am running my emulators on a second hard drive. In quite a few cases; the video's and sound seems to be really choppy. Also When I update the mame list it never completes (I left the computer on all night and it gets stuck at 55%. Does gameex work with AMD computers? That seems strange because AMD has been around a long time. Also my new computer seems to be really loud are their inexpensive solutions to keep a computer cool and quiet?

Thanks that works it runs again. Thank you very much
