  1. Entering the emulator Execution files that drive the individual games. I am able to get all my emulators to start up, but I am unable to get individual files to load using the "[C \ consoles/NES /roms /What do I put here?] "switch I am using GameEx, but is Evolution that much better? Thank You log.txt SetupWizard.log GameEx.ini
  2. Thanx Draco My emulators are created in GameEx, I have GameEx Evolution installed, but I really have not set it up. Which is better? Is there a significant advantage to using GameEx Evolution? But as far as the emulators are concerned the Pcsx2 comes up with a plugIns error and if I try to open it, it opens but when I click on an ISO I get no response. The other issue I have is I'm getting the emulators to open up for the various consoles, but they don't load the individual games and I'm not sure what to put into" [RomPath/Romfile] " NOthing I have tried seems to work.
  3. OK I have tried several ideas and am not getting my emulator to play the game. The game lists are correct and the envelope opens, but I have tried putting the directroy to the roms["C:\consoles\Nes|roms"] and that doesn't seem to work. I took the quotes out and typed[C:\console\Nes\roms] and tried that and it is still not finding the games than I tried [""] and that didn't work either, so what am I missing? log.txt GameEx.ini
  4. Winuae will work with many different controllers. I am attempting to set my emulator up to use the x arcade . In the past they included a setting that automatically did that. But it seems as if in the overhaul they removed that. There are many games as well that use the keyboard. I am doing a class in adventure games and we use the keyboard for that. Anyways the port of Amiga's would be a different end wouldn't they? Winuae now runs almost anything. Also some games are weird Amigo's for example forces you to just gently nudge the joystick for it to move. I haven't tried that one with a joystick yet. But nudge works on the gamepad. I use both for different games. So I would say either one of those seems to be useful at different times/. Most of the Amiga games only used one button anyways. Look at Alladdin on the Amiga vs the SNES and the Genesis versions to see the differences. The Amiga and the C64 had no idols at the time so there are so many differnet types of games that never were passed down. Anyways just my thoughts
  5. Pcsx2 stopped working for me as well. It had been working fine outside of Gameex and I imported the directories for it but the emulator stopped running I am not sure what the bios roms to look for are. What is the best route for fixing it? The good news is that all the other emulators are opening but while I have the gmes listed the games are not showing up. I see they want me to put brackets in Co I have to paste in the game location directory in the brackets. All the games are showing for all the emulators, but it doesn't load them for any thing. I am on a windows 10 system.
  6. I have set up quite a lot of tables, but they were from an earlier addition of PInmame. Under past windows systems they always seemed to work. But in Windows 10 I keep getting messages like this game is not playable with this newer version. I think these were made like in Visual Pinball v2 or 3 and none of the pinmame games work. It will give me the requestor do I want to play such and such a game IThey are too old to run. Has anyone else experienced this?
  7. Sorry I was trying to write praise and unfinished at the same moment. I have installed all of the emulators I needed for my games, but while they are working to open the emulators, they are not pointing to the games I selected. So I think I'm not understanding the command line executable part of it because with the exception of maybe 2 emulators they are all opening the emulator and from there I have to choose the game. The second question I have is Where do I put the databases. My Games are showing up but the other categories are blank. Is there a database I need to insert into each emulator? Third Is there a way to use the same emulator again. I installed a little c64 gamebase, but I would like to organize another database, but I can't see how it pulled the C64 selection out of the source and now I am not finding it. I got the Gamebase setup to work perfect, but now I want to do the same with Gameex. Also what happened to the Amiga computer. All I see are the CD Files section? Thanks Leighton
  8. I have gotten all the emulators to work in my install of Gameex, except that none of them connect to the game on the list. They are all opening but quite a lot of my games are alphabeticalized in folders and don't show so I tested them by pulling them out of the folder and reunzipping here instead How do I scan the folders? but I figured that out. Now I am working on making the games connect especially with Kega Fusion. The SMS database finds all the games, and connections, but the Genesis, and cd mega don't. Do I need to add an extension into the directory? What is it? I have everything working close. I just want it to be perfect. Another item too is I downloaded the little databases do I put those in the respective computer, console folder or are they all dumped on Gameex main folder? Thanks Leighton
  9. Sorry I did some of that today too loading various tables.
  10. I noticed in the installation of emulators that both the PSX and the Commodore Amiga were removed. Are they that much harder to set up?
  11. OK I see this is more complicated than I thought. There isn't a Os or rom section for GEOS that I see? I'll have to puzzle it out.
  12. I have never tinkedred with Geos and it seems that compared to the Atari 800 emulators Vice is much more complicated to deal with. So by blank image you don't mean an empty floppy disk do you? Every experience I have tried to create with the cartridges has failed. So I'm not sure what my next attempt should be. Anyways I'll at it again today? Do you need to have Geos installed to use it? Do I need to build a version of Winvice with Geos installed?
  13. What is the best programming book to learn to write a tool like convert it. If I could automate it by code to do something like look at a romfile name and change the snap file names to match. A program like that wouldn't be complicated to write would it? Whats the best programming language to use? Common Lisp or Python or Visual Basic or Mathematica? or instead is it more of a program like what like romcenter does. Is the database files serving the same purpose as the romcenter dat files? Are the for the same purpose? Sorry if I am annoying but I can understand this now so I am asking questions to clarify
  14. Is convert it part of the membership or is it a separate fee?
  15. I have quite a few commodore game snaps in Gif format, Does Gameex not read those I can't get them to show up in the data base. Also I have some PNG files and they aren't showing up either. But I got the emulator to work so that's a good sign.
  16. I 'm not sure what they mean by slots. There are 4 cartridge slots, but I don't see them and none of the cartridges when I attach seem to change the screen, so then I reset which again does nothing. I set a card to 1024 memory and still am getting nothing. I looked at the cartridge I/o settings but none of the tosec images seem to work. Thanks for helping me out.
  17. I am trying to run an Reu file in Winvice, isn't it cartridge based. It's supposed to be ram expansion but I have tried all manner of cart types and can't get it working. Any ideas.
  18. How do I run a Cartridge reu file in Winvice. I have tried loading various cartridges with no effect?
  19. I have always easily set up the controllers for Mame, but I have an X arcade stick, and I really don't understand how it might have gone bad. I bought it when compjters f\were mostly Ps/2 and than I upgraded to the new USB port. Except that you have to have a PS@/2keyboard to program it. I pluged in the USB cable, but I no longer own a computer that even has a Ps/2 slot. Are these things that outdated? Or is there a work around I can use. I haven't used it in 5 years because I had no idea how to reprogram it. I tried setting the defaults in the xarccade book but it isn't responding to anything I do. I can't believe it is bad so I would like to know how to reset my Mame to the original default controller settings. Thanks. Leighton
  20. Is that an automatic part of Windows update, or is that something I do on my own?
  21. I am able to get onto the website but as I was setting up to download I was asked for my name and password which are not being accepted . D I need to re-register a name to download anything. It isn't accepting anything I type
  22. I decided to reinstall Windows 10 and gameex came up but when I went to configure the Gameeex config, it went to a black screen and stalled there What are the logs I'm supposed to send to you I forget? It should work fine I know more about computers than I used to. /s gameex.default.ini GameExOnlineLog.txt SetupWizard.log
  23. I updated from 8.1 to Windows 10, only to be plagued with problems Windows automatically deletes my documents and also the emulations stop accepting joysticks, and the game files disappear. Would I be wiser to rollback to Win8.1 or should I do a reinstall of Windows 10 and try to set everything again. Is Windows 10 good for emulation and games or 8.1 better 7 I think I would have to locate many extra files just to make it work with my amount of ram and a large hd so 8.1 would be much easier My question. When I let Windows automatically install 10 I didn't lose my 8.1 license did I if I rollback that will be accepted won't it? Windows 10 has been a disaster for me on two of my computers so I am loathe to keep using it.
  24. My C64 emulator was registering my Logitech controllers. Only recently have they stopped registering. Any ideas why that would stop? I am using Winvice and its still not working.
  25. Happy 4th of July !! I got Game-Ex to work for Mame only on my games computer. I don't know what's up with the emulators. I was getting errors. Now I have a second Gameex on a different computer and it is not showing where the mouse position is and also the switch to minimize Game-Ex doesn't work Any ideas?
