there is no news topic for 8.75? 3d transitions are much slower since upgrading 8.69 (i think?) to 8.75 i can see the big pixels of text on the zoom in, they're on screen for so long. tried disabling avi backgrounds, still slow. vsync is on btw. ATI Radeon 9600. drivers are a bit old (Sep06, not sure which cat ver it is) but i have a rule about not f**ing with the htpc since its working and this was never slow until this gameex ver. thought i should let you know otherwise all good. shall i try rolling back to 8.72 to confirm? (Which i downloaded but did not install)

heh yeah i allow the mouse (actually a pointing stick on my airboard) in gameex so cant hide it when gameex loads

hmmm what if i just want to hide the cursor in certain emus that dont do it properly (like snes9x and some others). whats the safest way to do this, so that if the emu crashes or whatever the cursor is always restored in gameex or windows?

the emulator grouping that's appeared somewhere between 7.5 and 8.1 is extremely handy. but i have a question - is there an option to put merged emulators in a submenu together and keep game lists seperate, instead of making one list? ive accidently merged all my nintendo emus and actually.. i rather like it

agreed some way of searching thats more advanced than just jumping to first letter is badly needed. i'd ideally like it filter down in realtime on a substring search* like e.g. thunderbird's email search, but i doubt thats technically do-able graphically with the menu system gameex uses? e.g. typing "Mario" would find "Mario 64" and "Super Mario Kart" on a grouped nintendo emus list.

i would use my trusty notepad though that doesn't really solve the problem, if i want to edit more than a few things i think that's much faster. just back it up first and/or don't make mistakes.

Shaun nice again. funny how that's in a hidden bit of UI edit: although if you do that, it could have weird consequences as environment veriables like %username% won't be present/correct. be careful if any of your software needs these paths/access rights.

you can use tweakui to autologin, and disable the welcome screen in control panel user accounts options - give you the old style login dialogue. i don't do this though because then CTRL_ALT_DEL acts differently :/ that's about all i know sorry, don't know any way to remove the login process completely.

edit: i apologise, firefox was caching my download /me hangs head in shame. i will check checksums from now on. the issue above is fixed

ok something having a similar effect (completely different but it looks like i may not get any help with the above :/) -artwork -artwork_directory artwork where is this coming from please ? mame command line, its stopping some games working. i cant see it in gameex.ini is this something mame+ is adding or..?

i think this may be related to the mixer.. seems to not happen if using VMR9 seems to happen every time if using Overlay mixer does this make any sense? note sure if its that.. was doing it earlier.. now isn't. gah sorry Tom i can't give a useful report, but if i manage to track down what settings caused this i will post them all i can say is there does appear to be a bug that allows gameex to come up when it shouldn't :/ how should i go about tracking this down please?

ok i have gameex launching zplayer for dvds. its coming back up a few seconds after launching... not sure when this started happening. any advice please on what settings may cause/fix this! current gameex 6.76 cmd line: zplayer.exe /F /LOCKFS /OPENDRIVE:D /VOL:100 /R:(1024,576,32,0) the player carries on running fine, i can tab into it. but i cant get back to gameex, have to force close it and restart. this used to happen but was fixed ages ago.. ummm?

an option to disable the screen rotation on tab please i never want to do this, when it happens its slow and confusing.

an option to reverse the sort order for any lists (for map files or normal rom folders), OR an option to *not* sort map file lists (i.e. just list the games in the order they are in the file) please (why? i would like my most recent photo sets at the top, not at the bottom of the list please! i use "YYYY-MM-DD Title")

so there's currently no way to put pauses in between keys? related to the same problem, 1) if i update a dirs.map while gameex is running, is there any way to get gameex to re-read the file? ideally i would like it to check the map file last modified every time you open that list! i need this or similar because i update things in the background, after gameex starts. making gameex wait until everything is done is out of the question as it would take ages to start up :/ sorry this is a non issue, gameex apprently is checking every time the list is loaded? 2) is there no way to get gameex to *not* sort lists alphabetically? even when i sort my map file lines myself, gameex puts it back in alpha order. gah! er thanks Tom if you're reading.

hi, trying to get a photo viewer to go fullscreen then scroll down for each photo. ENTER, CTRL+DOWN, CTRL+DOWN whatever i try e.g. {ENTER}^{DOWN}^{DOWN} or {ENTER} ^{DOWN} ^{DOWN} {ENTER}^{DOWN 2} or even {ENTER}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{DOWN}{ OWN} (wrong key but would do something noticeable) always results in only the first ENTER working and ignoring everything else. im using waitbeforekeys for 2000 aswell as it needs this to start app is Faststone Image Viewer btw. thanks using 6.76 btw

C:\Documents does not Exist this type of error is normally: missing quotes in paths with spaces.

MagicEngine is the not free one yes? and PSX.. ain't got space for 600MB per game but Atari 2600 Rom complete set looks like 6MB. that's a better deal

i'm not accusing anyone of lying, and i hope it can look good 'cos like most people I have dying CRTs and am moving to LCDs.. i just don't see how it can possibly work right, that's all. lets suppose it does work.. as everyone knows, LCDs look sh*t at any non-native res. i dunno, just doesn't make sense to me.
