I got greedy and tried the 140u3 update too and amd still getting the errors. I'm going to try and with just the u1 & u2. Thanks on the cab. Just a standard Slikstik Quad unit but I have added two Actlabs lightguns & recently found a better way to mount my momo steering wheel. I took an old keyboard tray arm and mounted it just above the keyboard slide out tray. The arm can slide all the way left and then be turned to the side out of the way. Just ordering a usb wall plate so that I can have plug and play access on the side on the cab for the usb connection instead of having to open the coin door.

Yes. Thre are lots of tutorials and here's a link to the one that did it for me: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=8412&st=0&p=62113&hl=cquealy&fromsearch=1entry62113 Thanks to Tempest on this one.

Thanks. Do you think it was the clrmamepro or the change in hiscore diff (did you use 136u2 or 140u2) that solved the problem? Or a combination of both. I'm feeling okay with doing another compile but the clrmamepro is scaring me! Also, did you have to go reconfig all your games again? Thanks again!!!
-
I know this is going to sound stupid, but as it's my first time compiling MAME, do I have to do do the whole compile process again or is there a way to apply just updates/patches (like the updated hiscore diff) to my current created MAMEUI?
-
I have never used clrmamepro before but figure I should give it a go. Any suggestions for a good tutorial?
-
I applied all diffs & now I'm getting the same errors with the snaps. I'll try to go back to 140 too.
-
Thanks. Fixed here too.

Compiled using Headkaze program this morning. Worked great and took about 20 minutes. I already had a woking MAMEUI64 so I actually just replaced the EXE so that all other stuff didn't have to be setuo again. Great to have Hi score & no errors. Thanks Headkaze!

Did some more research and found out my birdie king problem is a mame issue: http://www.mametesters.org/view.php?id=3863 Still would like to know why I can't get the the older version of MAMEUI to have trackball functionality when set up as an emulator. It works outside of gameex but not inside.
-
I actually grabbed that screenshot off this youtube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coA1_IY0PkE so I'm thinking it's more global thatn my system and is an issue with MAME64. I have the asepct ratio right on mine and still the inaccuracy problem. If you run mame64 and I would love to know if it happens to you. Oh well, looks like I'll just have to setup up mame32 as an emualator & figure out how to get my trackball working in gameex again. The trackball works in mame configure in gameex. Just not working when ame is configured as an emulator.

Attached is screenshot of Birdie King error (ball is clearly not in bunker but the game thinks it is). Works great in mame32, not so great in mame64. bking screen error.bmp

You can set gameex to play just favs or you can set up emulators and choose to add them to the previews.

I do have a mame.ini but it must be autogenerated. It's been working fine in and out of gameex for over a year or so but just recently stopped recognizing the trackball in gameex. I have a slikstik quad which might be one of the last produced & delivered! What's even stranger is that the reason for using the two different version of mames (32bit & 64bit) was due to light gun games not working in mame64 (couldn't run the configurations) and now i can. The axises used to show two coordinates (gun1x gun2x) for horizontal & (gun1y gun2y) for vertical but now theu just show one cooridnate (gun1x) so maybe I was just configuring wrong. Only problem I have now is in MAME64 the bking game not being accurate (not distinguishing between fairway and bunker). If someone else is a birdie king fan and is running maem64, I would love to know if you are experiencing the same glitch. So if my issue is not calling the mame.ini, how would i put that in the command line?
-
Not sure what you mean. I beem using the mame with gameex for about three years. It's been working fine but just recently did I encounter the trackball not working in gameex for those games.
-
I recently encountered an error that I can't figure out. I run two version of MAME on my cab in Gameex. Mame64 so that some of the more demanding games run better and a hackedmame32 version for my light gun games and for Birdie King that doesn't work in MAME64(The tracking is off in mame64 for some reason). Just recently, the trackball device doesn't work anymore in Gameex for the hackedmame version. It works fine outside of gameex. Any thoughts? I have attached my log. Thanks. dhlog.txt

Act labs. It's not a windows issue as I can use them in non mame games. I just can't configure them in mame64. I'm using a 32 bit mame version for the gun games but one in particular runs slow in mame32.

Just did it. Thanks for the help.

thanks. one last question. How does the game data get updated?
-
A bit embarassed but are their any instructions for getting game cards to work? I have my card but have no idea how to make it appear? Thanks.
