  1. Are you trying to make the framefile? If so, depending on what format your files are in, there may be quite a few m2v files or just one. If it's just one, then you can make the framefile yourself and be good to go. If you are trying to use the multi-movie formated set, you will have a tougher time. I would just find a framefile online for the game if that's the case.
  2. Ok, so I suck Actually, I'm guessing that the controls are set up wrong.

Guess Brian didn't need your money
  4. you could post your GameEx log if you wanted someone to see about your system specs.
  5. I was playing last night and got to the bridge, out of the hole, and strangled EVERY FREAKING TIME!!!!!!
  6. A boot skin is just the set of screens that show up during boot though, right? I mean, that won't change the cursor too, will it?
  7. Yeah, but in the end you have the opportunity to get cheated by Dragon's Lair over and over and over and over and ....
  8. I was just thinking about the search feature and the problem I mentioned in the original release thread. Since I have game examples in the catver.ini, I get those games whenever I search with a string that includes those (e.g., Mario displays all platformers since my catver category is 'Platformer (Donkey Kong, Mario, etc.)'). I noticed that the search page is mostly empty. Is it possible to add any toggles in it for where to search? For example, maybe one for MAME/Emulators/Both. Since all the data you are searching is in one database, I assume you are simply searching all records and fields. Maybe a check box for the major things like: game name, history, series, category, everything. The easiest solution for my current conundrum would be the ability to search JUST the game name. Anyway, just a thought. Since this is a new feature and more of a tweak than a request, I put it here instead of the features request...
  9. If you press select and back at the same time, it should go to the home screen.
  10. There was a thread in the last month that talked about this. I searched but couldn't find it right now. Basically, it comes down to adding an extra registry key. As I recall, this is something that you can easily change using TweakUI. The value you are looking for is the default mouse pointer. If you change that to the dot cursor, it will not show up during loading.
  11. You can technically have the files anywhere you want and just make sure you point to the correct location when you call DAPHNE. The way I *think* it's intended to be setup, though, is to keep the roms in the rom directory and the laser disc files in subdirectories (sorta like the way CHDs work). It appears that there is a framefile directory in the v0.99.7 release, so I guess you could put them either there or with the video files. I believe Brian puts them with the video files based on his tutorial. It really doesn't matter as long as you instruct DAPHNE where to look for them via the command line AND you put the correct path to the video files in the framefile (e.g., '.\' or '..\roms\spaceace').
  12. Awesome! The screensaver kicking in is a BIG pain in the ass when playing with scripts and while doing other setup type stuff where you don't have to shut GameEx down. Much appreciated!
  13. You apparently either do not have the rom or you do not have the command line pointing to the rom correctly. You need 3 things for DAPHNE to work (a recap): 1) Rom file: The rom for the game you are trying to play 2) Extracted laser disc files: m2v and ogg file(s) in a directory 3) Framefile: The file that tells DAPHNE where the laser disc file(s) are located how they fit together (if there are more than one) You also need a copy of DAPHNE with the correct command line arguments (easiest to define via the DAPHNE Launcher program). From the sounds of the error, you either don't have the rom file, you didn't tell DAPHNE where to find it correctly, or you are trying to run a different rom than DAPHNE expected (you called Dragon's Lair and told it the location for ace.zip for example).
  14. Isn't there supposed to be a number before 'cliff-r.m2v' that indicates the offset? Like I said, I just started, but all my framefiles have a number and the m2v file.
  15. Are you using the v0.123 or a v0.123u__ release? If you are using a 'u' release, then perhaps the diff isn't happy with patching the source correctly?
  16. Although there are quite a few posts daily now, I still personally prefer it to be listed in a single list. I don't think I would check multiple lists regularly, so if it were changed to a broken up forum, would there still be a way to check new posts in a single list?
  17. I've only just started playing with DAPHNE in the last few days, but I know there are at least 3 ways you can run laser disc games that are currently fairly popular. 1) DAPHNE v0.99.7 2) DAPHNE v1.00 3) Run with whatever the Digital Leisures software is based on (probably DAPHNE v1.00) I don't know of any compatibility problems, but then again, I have no basis to speak
  18. Do the m2v files always have audio or is that associated with the rom? I know that MACH3 has an audio track, but I haven't checked all of them.
  19. FYI: You don't actually have to use any software to create a screen capture. Just press Alt+PrintScreen and it will capture just the window with focus or PrintScreen to capture the whole screen. Then, paste the image in a picture editor (like paint.exe) and save.
  20. You can compile an AHK script to an exe and then you won't need AHK installed on that computer.
  21. Yeah, -screen! I was looking for the exact switch, but couldn't locate it. Turns out I used the wrong search term. I'm pretty sure that you can do this natively in the catalyst drivers from ATI and probably the NVidia drivers as well.
  22. Yes, I also ripped my own laserdisc... Anyway, I figured it out. The framefile is the same for anyone that rips their laserdisc or downloads it from someone else in case they do not have the capability to rip their own for which they own. Basically, the framefile is just a list of files and an offset that DAPHNE uses to know how the files are interconnected. If you rip your laserdisc as a single .m2v file, you just have a single entry in the framefile (beyond the location of the files). If you rip it as a set of files, then you will need an entry for every m2v file and an appropriate offset. Since all filesets are from the same source, you can use a framefile from any source and it should work (assuming you get the appropriate one...single entry or multi entry).
  23. I don't have the right codec for watching the video on my work machine (I'll watch it tonight at home). My Daphne set is in 2 formats. One has a bunch of m2v files and the other is a single file. For example, MACH3 is a single file and I got it to work fine after playing with the DaphneLauncher. But, DL is the other way. I tried to get the framefile setup, but failed. Will the video help with both setups? If not, any other help (I haven't read those threads yet, so I may be speaking out my arse).
  24. Is it possibly related to a special 64-bit multi-core compile of MAME? I know a lot of people have used that feature, but I think you may be one of the few that's using that kind of MAME compile. Perhaps try with a standard build of MAME to see if that makes a difference? Just a thought... Oh, and I chose to just download the MAME Extras set available at some places instead of creating my own snaps. That set includes a lot of things that would take tons of time to generate on my own.
  25. MAME doesn't work with XPadder unless it's outputs have been sorted out (I haven't checked lately). After the MAMEdevs switched over to the different input system, you pretty much have to use controls however MAME detects them. All other emus should work fine with XPadder, though. EDIT: I just checked, and it looks like the features that would allow you to use XPadder with MAME will be incorporated at some point when the "T.Rex" version is released. I don't follow the XPadder forums, so I can't comment further, but it's supposed to be released some day...
