  1. Looks like it's out of beta now and GameEx does not run under the released one. http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/dow...es/default.aspx
  2. If ePSXe doesn't have a command line option that runs a CD, you could probably use the SendKeys option to simulate the keypresses that cause the emualtor to run a CD-ROM based game. I would think there's a way to get it to go to the CD from the command line, though. It wasn't clear from what I saw in the readme, though.
  3. Did you install 2.0 "beta 2" ? Microsoft doesn't make it clear that you're downloading an old version if you install 2.0 "Beta". On my machine it worked fine with 2.0 "Beta 2" but not "beta". -- Rob
  4. Don't know about Nebula. What are you doing for ePSXe? I know some here use ePSXeCuTor with a bunch of shortcuts for the games they run. In that case it would be easy, you just make a shortcut to the plain ePSXe.You could make ePSXe a PC application, too. If you're using flat menu mode it shows up alongside the other emulator choices.
  5. But is it still pushing the DMD to the background? I'm assuming you're running XP since you said you installed the XP fix. I just wish I had a system that behaved like yours so I could test it.
  6. Try this vpauto.exe (replace the one in C:\program files\gameex\) and tell me how it goes. vpauto.zip
  7. GameEx (and MediaCenter) are both working for me on the latest NVidia drivers too. Maybe they're finally getting their act together. -- Rob

    pls help..

I've never had GameEx reappear on me mid-game. Perhaps the emulator is crashing on you. As far as exiting but GameEx not returning (requirig a ctl-alt-del kill), that happens to me every once in a great while. In my case it's way too inconsistent for me to bug Tom about.. happens once every month or something like that.
  9. What version of VP and VPM are you using? I'm using VP 6.1 with VPinMame 1.52. I have not tried it with VP7. The VPM (DMD) window is supposed to be a "topmost" floating window. Something is making it behave like a standard window. The vpauto.exe script continuously forces the VP player window to the foreground, because the VP editor will stay on the screen and/or you won't have control over the table. On every system I've tried, I've never seen it push the DMD back. I did find another way to do this that might work better with your system, though. I would have to update the vpauto.exe script. But first check your VP version and let me know if you are using 6.1.
  10. That's a strange problem. I've used a countless number of low level functions to bring the VP window to the foreground, but I've never seen it hide the DMD. Is VP set to a a full screen mode? You might also try changing your color depth. What video card are you using?

Esc *should* close the emulator out also, because MapKeys is turned On. If you want to be able to use the ESC key (useful when configuring) turn MapKeys off.

Try removing the quotes around "Project64.exe" ... that may be confusing things.

Please post your config. Offhand, make sure there are NO quotes around the [ROMPath]\[ROMFile]. Most emulators expect them, Project64 does not work with them. As the fullscreen option indicates, it goes fullscreen after the ROM is loaded. If the command line is wrong, all you'll get is the windowed interface. Also check out (and post if you still need help) the contents of C:\Program Files\GameEx\DATA\runitgame.bat. That will show you the actual command line that GameEx is using to launch Project64.
  14. I've used MCE on my desktop machine. It is virtually identical to Windows XP pro, it just has a few media center specific applications added on. If you don't launch the media center front end you'd probably forget that it was Media Center Edition in the first place.
  15. I'm not currently aware of a way to do that. You might want to post this in Feature Requests, it's certainly a good idea. Would be cool to be able to spin through the game list with a trackball. -- Rob
  16. That type of stuff happened to me all the time with an IR keyboard. When you close and re-open GameEx, GameEx won't get another KeyDown. It's just a matter of it not getting a KeyUp message to tell it to stop. It can also be caused by unexpected interactions between SendKeys (or JoyToKey type apps).
  17. If you're using an XBox controller, more buttons and POV hat assignments would be a good thing to add. On some PS2 and Xbox controllers, the D-pad is assigned to the POV hat.
  18. I assume that's like saying "it's the sh*t" (awesome, great) in the US?
  19. I have never seen this happen. Could it be your game controller is too sensitive? If you're using a wireless keyboard of some sort, and the connection isn't perfect, it's possible for the computer to get the "Key Down" message but not the "Key Up". If it starts going "down" on its own, hit the down key to stop it. It's possible to create problems by pressing keys while doing SendKeys combinations also. It would be helpful to try and narrow down which of the input devices is causing the problem.
  20. Both my media centers are on FX5700's (one LE), so the 5900 should be fine.
  21. Lose weight and get a registered copy of GameEx! Sounds win-win to me! -- Rob
  22. It would be cool if we could have HTML based "documentation" for the games, that way people could embed images for the controls or whatever else makes sense for that particular emulator.
  23. If you do not use the advanced config, GameEx will trap the ESC key and do a task kill on the emulator that's running (sort of like hitting ctrl-alt-del and killing something from the task list). It doesn't matter what key combination exits or pauses. ESC will become an exit key. This feature does have a use for some emulators like ZSnes. Zsnes doesn't save state when it's asked to exit that way, so you can lose your progress in games. I never had that problem with Gens.
  24. Is there some reason why you're not using the standard method of exiting? I've never had a problem with plain old mapkeys using Gens.
  25. Good, now it's my turn to go away. Posting from Honolulu, Hawaii. -- Rob
