  1. Another double shift at work down, four more to go! 5 hour energy don't fail me now!

  2. I didn't see your help request over at EmuMovies, but it should probably be discussed there so Circo knows what's going on. Sounds like a naming mix-up to me. Simply rename/switch the names of the videos and they should be good to go and show the correct video for it's respected category. I had to rename a few of the videos in the other sets such as the NES due to a few mix-ups. Btw, welcome to the forums!
  3. Thanks Stig! I must have missed this the first time around
  4. I will post my .ini and log files after work today Thanks Draco
  5. So I recently learned PCSX2 can have 'per game' settings using a frontend like PCSX2Bonus. Makes things much easier as some PS2 games require different settings in order to get them to run properly. I was thinking of adding one of these frontends to my PCSX2 setup in order to get things to run more fluently within GameEx, eliminating the need to configure emulator settings for games that require a bit of tweaking. I wanted to check and see if anyone is using one of these frontends for PCSX2 within GameEx, and if so, which one? There seem to be several to choose from. Some games, like Final Fight: StreetWise require software mode for proper rendering, while others require Hardware, etc... and various other settings. Having a frontend that can configure settings on a per game basis seems to be the way to go to eliminate some of the hassle when playing. Have any of you guys got one of these to work with GameEx?
  6. Really interesting you found music by me Tempest, I thought I had had it all removed when my band split.... Yes I'm a musician, it's my first love so to speak, but game collecting is also another love of mine that's as equally rewarding. The pics I shared at the link above are just a preview... I have so much more that I'd like to dig out and take photos of for you guys... maybe soon.
  7. So I'm moving the conversation Krakerman and I were having over in the GameRoomv2 thread to it's own topic. Hoping it might be something Krakerman and I have configured wrong in our settings, but as Krakerman suggested, I'm posting to get some feedback on what might cause the issues discussed below:
  8. Thanks Krak. I'll make a thread for this right now.
  9. Wow! Thanks guys! I was extremely surprised upon receiving this news. Over the past year or so since discovering GameEx and this great community, it has been you guys that have come through for me each and every time when I needed help setting something up or just had a general question. So for that, I say thank you! I've been around emulation for quite a long time and up until arriving here, I had never been a part of a community as welcoming and as helpful as this one. All of the great support here is truly reflected in the software. GameEx is a software that truly speaks for itself and that's just one of the many things that make GameEx so great! I can't wait to be a part of the next chapter with Evolution. It's funny how the more things change, the more they stay the same. As GameEx evolves and moves forward, I hope to do the same in a sense... by learning more, being more involved, and more helpful around the forums. So once again, thanks to ALL of you who have helped me along the way and thanks to you Tom for a truly great piece of software (and for keeping my inner nerd from getting bored)! I've written several articles on GameEx here and there, and would write a dozen more without question to get more folks involved and tuned in. It really is such a privilege to be involved here with this great community! Forgive me if I'm running my words together, I'm at work but wanted to post a reply before having to go back to my day job! Once again, thank you!
  10. Loving this theme Krak, but I have a question. When I use the GameEx in-game pause feature to view manuals, etc. The theme backgrounds do not display. Instead, I get a solid black background. I may have something wrong in my settings? Any suggestions?
  11. Thanks for the update Tom
  12. I'm assuming your talking about the system intro videos? Where do you have these? I have mine in the THEME/LOGOS folder, and the name of the video should match your .png images. MAME.mp4 - MAME.png You probably already know that, just trying to help...
  13. I do all my emulator upgrades manually, just to ensure I have the latest working version. Sometimes, the .exe file name can change slightly, so always double check your settings and make sure your file path is still pointing to the correct .exe. Like ClassicGMR said above, install your update to where your current emulator is and you should still be in good shape.
  14. Never thought about it like that. Doing it the way you described makes more sense. Thanks again Dazzle! Consider this topic resolved.
  15. No problem! Everything you've done looks great! I have a few ideas for the media part of the theme (eBooks, JukeBox) I'd like to bounce off you if/when you get to doing those. One of them is that I use the eBooks feature for many retro video game mags such as older issues of Nintendo Power (I have a complete set of those in .pdf format) Game Pro, EGM and comics. I was thinking you could incorporate that into the theme some how for the eBooks theme... again just an idea, everything you've done so far looks awesome and I'm actually thinking of redoing my cab decals to blend in with this theme somehow. I have two different cabs built one of them running HyperSpin and the other running GameEx. I'll probably dump my HS install for EVO when it's released, but I'd like to keep the original GameEx on my other cab running this theme.
  16. Totally worth the wait man. The kids love it!
  17. It would appear that I have to retract my previous statement. I fired up GameEx tonight, waiting for the screen saver to kick in and once again I'm hearing sound from the videos and the GameEx audio playlist simultaneously. I have "Pause GameEx playlist MAME with Sound" selected but the GameEx playlist continues to play. I have the same setting set in audio settings as well, so I'm not sure why GameEx wont pause the playlist and just play the video sound. I thought I had this sorted last night by deleting the jukebox files and restarting GameEx. I even did a reinstall over my previous install and still get the same results. Any ideas?
  18. Ok cool, I'll try that and see what happens. Yes, everything else looks great! And it might have helped if I had read all of your post mentioning where you hadn't got to the media part of the theme, lol I totally missed that and went straight to the download in the next post
  19. Thanks and no rush I was simply asking I noticed tonight as I was playing around with the theme in GE that when "JukeBox Mode" is enabled, it overlaps where the video snaps and/or snaps/titles are. This happens when scrolling through the emulator/system list. Is there a setting in the GE setup where I can hide this without having to disable the juke box?
  20. Sorry for the DP but when I select the option to turn the GameEx playlist off or "pause" I still hear music playing. Is there something I'm missing here? I have to manually puse the playlist before attract mode kicks in. Edit: I figured it out.
  21. Sweet! Thanks Krak! Could I request NEC PC-Engine and PC-Engine CD at some point as an update? I was also wondering if you might do a Nintendo Wii Virtual Console/WiiWare theme? I know you have TurboGrafx-16 done it's just I have my Japanese ROM set seperate from the American releases. Looks great on my flat screen HDTV. Thanks again for the time and effort you have put into this.
  22. I plan on doing that Thanks Dazzle EDIT: it seems the "Just play videos" option was what I was missing before when I tried this. Thanks again.
  23. This is probably very basic and simple but I thought I'd ask anyway. Is there a way to get GameEx to play video snaps and/or Intro videos in "attract mode" or what not instead of having it play random games from MAME or other emulators? I could have swore I saw this discussed before and even remember someone saying they have videos playing instead of games... but I can't seem to find the topic. I'd rather have videos playing instead of games just because the emulators sometimes freeze up with different games.
  24. Krak, good luck with the surgery. I hope all goes well and wish you a speedy recovery!
  25. Ok great! Sorry I didn't see it in the list above so I must have overlooked it, that's why I was asking.
