  1. Hi, MAME operates differently in GameEx with special features and not as a normal emulator. You should use the in built MAME settings and functions in GameEx. Some people then decide to set up MAME as a normal emulator using the created database after using the special in built features.
  2. Thanks for testing. I will take a look but have you tried encoding the file as UTF-8? By default .net uses just UTF-8. Unicode is kind of an old thing now as far as I know and everything is UTF these days. Try getting a good text editor such as notepad++ and save it as UTF-8 and let me know how that goes. Tom.
  3. Announcing the latest incarnation of the PinballX front end. Currently in testing. This version moves PinballX and most of the libraries to .net framework 5 (Previously .net core). The reason is simple - significant performance improvements. It even starts up in half the time for an initial install. It is currently an experimental release and its future is not fully not known yet. Only Windows 10/11 64 bit is supported. It can run along side the regular release of PinballX as long as installed in a different folder.

  10. so this is the folder. c:\arcade\Mame\artwork Unless it a temporary folder gameex is using. Ill look shortly.
  11. I still think its the issue I said. What artwork are you talking about? (GameEx bezel just uses it own) Please post mame.ini,. Thanks. The dir I am talking about will be somehting like C:\MAME\Artwork.
  12. it's the rom filter. Turn it off or remove "hardware"
  13. Can confirm this. Looking now.
  14. No, in the MAME artwork path.
  15. Looks like the issue is right there in your log. Looks like a user rights issue to me and GameEx cant delete the directory. Try manually deleing the MAME artwork path/bezel etc.
  16. Hi, just wanted to say I don't think this is anything to do with VPCabs. They only use PinballX as far as I know and I think they are hit by supply issues anyway right now. Perhaps some unauthorised use of GameEx here. I am not aware of SnapOn. If we want to help - The version of GameEx sounds pretty old to me. Thanks. Tom.
  17. No, not yet, but will do.
  18. Thank you guys. Will try to get it fixed for next release.
  19. Could you also explain what you mean by "Not working"? Thanks, Tom.
  20. I get a lot of people contact me and ask how to cancel subscriptions. This is especially true in recent times when people are struggling. Please note that you can cancel your subscription in your own PayPal account. I do not need to do this for you. Thsnk you. Tom. View the full article

  22. GameEx Arcade Edition does try to simplify things and it is hard coded that some games are filtered out. It is by design. As mentioned though you can include specific games if you want to. Thanks. Tom.
  23. New media playback features to GameEx for a change. Now features m3u and m3u plus support. Simply drop an m3u file or an internet shortcut into one of your video folders, and voila IPTV support. A bit old school now but the GameEx DVD player now includes madVR support. madVR support is automatic and now also works on GameEx 64 bit installs. Fixes a rather annoying bug where the please wait animation will always stay on for a minimum of 2 seconds. So subsequently this release is a significant performance improvement.
