  1. Just so you know Evo does exactly that. Shouldn't be too long now.
  2. Actually I think its unrelated to the please wait animation. I think you are getting an exception when searching and the rest of the stuff and that is causing the issue. Could you try to narrow it down to a system? Try that exe anyway.
  3. It seems like a quite a serious bug to me. So I am getting another release out. Hopefully I fixed it.
  4. Yeah, that's the latest. Obviously a bug. Please try this exe replacement. Thanks. Tom. GameEx.zip
  5. What date is gameex.exe?
  6. Well the auto download does exactly the same thing but with no prompts. Although that should be the correct version. I will make sure. I don't get those issues here though once I fixed the issue.
  7. You know, I believe I fixed this issue but might have updated the current version. Please just try and install again.
  8. Ill take a look. There were some changes to how the please wait dialog worked.
  9. Slingfront should support an MCE remote control out of the box. I remember coding support. So not sure why it is not working. Maybe its non standard. Some of them are.
  10. The setting is there: See here:
  11. I guess its a known issue with specialist games but you should be able to specify ROMS to always include. If that option is missing I will add it for the next release.
  12. I have not given up myself although don't use the feature for actual play. Last time I checked it was still workable with PinballX. Some people reported it wasn't perfect but it works here for me.
  13. The main thing I have found that affects the speed of the MAME verify is storage speed.. If the files are on a good local disk, yes you can do it in 5-10 mins.
  14. Minor bug fixes and improvements. The MAME list update is slightly faster. The in built artwork downloader has minor fixes and improvements and it is now also included as an external utility. With this release the EmuMovies sync utility is no longer included with the install and GameEx uses is its own integrated solution. You can obviously get it from the site if you still want it.. The artwork downloader now includes Daphne.support. Don't forget that GameEx subscribers get a 25% discount on an EmuMovies subscription. View the full article

  18. One other tip. Use a version of MAME compiled as arcade only. You can use HeadKazes famous MAME compiler for this. I expect it will be considerably quicker like that. I would try it.
  19. You should be able to edit the title. But yes the files are compatible with regular GamEex and you can also disable the verify and run windowed with regular GameEx.
  20. its the MAME verify that takes the time unfortunately. Its down to MAME itself. I would think it would be quicker with less roms though. Again we have a faster routine for Evo which can hopefully make it into regular GameEx later.
  21. As a solution to your specific case where you are constantly updating the MAME list, perhaps use regular GameEx to update the game list in windowed mode then copy over the contents of the data folder.
  22. This is normal when GameEx is updating the MAME list. Is the issue present when it is otherwise running?
  23. Its a known thing to me and unavoidable right now. The verify is forced in GameEx Arcade to keep options simple and also because GameEx needs to know if games are fully working and not just best available. So right now unfortunately its a known limitation. Headkaze has developed a better solution for GameEx Evolution and maybe I can utilize that in the future.
  24. I'm not sure I can help. I am pretty sure its a windows thing. As you can see from the log, PinballX is starting up in under 5 seconds. Its not PinballX that is causing this issue directly. Is the delay happening before PinballX starts at all? I mean do you see the loading screen right away?
  25. Thanks. I promoted you to contributor.
