Check your control configuration in the setup wizard. There has been a new control added - launch

Are you talking about videos not playing or B2S files? In PinballX or in table? For the audio you can use the older library. Just replace this file. bass.zip

Are you running a modified or lite version of windows? Does the setup wizard launch?

GameEx used directx 9 and 12 is not an in place upgrade for it. Try this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

I think its the file not found that is relevant. Could be missing directx install or visual c++ runtime or perhaps a bad install of gameex. I would try the directx9 web installer and Visuall C+ runtimes x86 for 2008 and 2010.

Sounds like a hard windows crash which is unusual. You should probably look in the windows event viewer.

Looks like you a decent log from updating the MAME list. Could you post another log with it crashing? Also please try installing video codecs. I don't think it is a log from me here unless its from my minix so not sure what is going on there? Latest version is 15.10 though not 15.02

Hey all, I have been working on moving the DirectX libraries to SlimDX from managed directX. It may make not a difference but it is a newer library and may be more stable and offer some better performance. I will upload once I have done some testing and fixed the startup sound issues. I would like to test on the cab here. Could anyone point me to some more intensive video files so I can see if performance is any better in that regard? like 60fps or UHD. Cheers. Tom.

You didn't provide your log file so I have no idea of what version of windows or gameex you are running or other diagnostic info but it looks like you have some missing dependencies. These should be included with the installer so this is strange but you could try the MS DirectX9 web installer and VC++ 2010 runtime.

This is almost certainly due to the MAME build you are using. Why not just use the normal MAME exe with GameEx? You can place it in the same folder.
