This problem came about when i switched from 720p at 60hz to 1080p at 48hz. When a resolution is specified the program will load for some themes but mot others. Mame games will not load from GameEx. A series of beeps is heard then it reverts to the menu.

runitgame.bat laumches the mame game fine however.

Anybody have any clues besides 'dont run at 48hz'?

Thanks

That's a new one (to me anyhow). A little more about your system configuration would be helpful. Can you please post a copy of the log file (post crash) as well as your gameex.ini file? You will need to save the gameex.ini as a test file as the IPBoard for the forum will not accept .ini .

Thanks!

I tried to replicate the error and am not able to based on the settings I am seeing. I am assuming your GPU is an nVidia - can you try installing the latest drivers for it (if you have the latest, try reinstalling them). and see if that helps clear up the errors?

Draco, you have a display connected to your GameEx box capable of 1080p at 48hz? I've done the driver thing and the directx thing, but can try a couple more drivers.

Unfortunately I can only max at 1680 x 1050 at 60hz. I wonder, though if the 48hz is too low for 1080P to handle? In looking through all of the resolutions my video card can handle, it appears that the lowest I could possibly fo is 800x600 at 56 hz and the hz increases with the resolution. Have you tried 1080P at 60 or 75 hz?

No, I haven't tried 1080 at 60 or 75hz but I'll see if I can get 60hz working to verify that it is in fact a problem caused by the refresh rate. Aside from GameEx everything else runs perfectly at 48hz.

I tried 720p at 48hz and it worked.

Would really like 1080p at 48hz though for watching blu-rays.

Just ordered an ATI 4650, hopefully it will work correctly with that card.
