After updating to new gameex, half mame games are away

Hello Tom,

Last version to newest version. I just updated it before 2 days. That was really a "kick in the ass" and hopefully I found the game I was searching for...

I will test this week the Refresh thing...I am not at home for 3 days and will tell You if it worked...

hi,

i had the same error after i update gameex ( auto gameex update ) but when i update to the latest version of mame 0.141 all my roms showed up and worked.

This has never happened to me, but I suppose since I keep MAME current it wouldn't. *shrugs*

I updated again the list but nothing changed...damm...luckily I have a backup of my drive and can revert that...but that is not ok...so I have to think twice if I update to the next version...si I disabled the update feature, sorry...

I can not always update to new mame version since I use maeuifx for highscore support...

so Tom please correct that...

What GameEx version did you upgrade from? Nothing has changed recently. The last change to effect the MAME list and it would require a list update was the remove duplicates setting which is on by default. Im not disagreeing with you but I can't see how simply updating GameEx version would cause this issue.

Andres - Mameui 0.141 when compiled with the hi_score.txt file provides as much highscore support. Also, MAMEUIFX is an unofficial build based off of the MAME/MAMEUI core. Regardless, are you able to see the games and play them from MAMEUIFX? Did you recently upgrade your MAMEUIFX version? If so, did you audit your ROMS?

It may be much easier for us to help you troubleshoot the issue when you are home (you did say you won't be home for another 3 days, right?) and can provide us with some more detailed information as Tom asked.

It has been my experience that if I upgrade to an old version of GameEx to the next version, I make it a part of the upgrade process to re-run the list. You may also want to look at the gameex.ini file as you can see what ROMS are being excluded. Please zip a copy and attach it in your response and give us examples of what ROMs specifically you are no longer seeing. I know you may have quite a few, but time is precious to us as well and trying to guess what is missing and pick for details is a bit frustrating when attempting to help you resolve your error.

2. I never had problems in seeing all my roms since I made all the settings for exlcluding roms, ect...

3. I was using the last version before the version what You can download at the moment

3.1 Version before : 11.50

3.2 Version after : 11.51

4. After upgrading, half of my roms are away

4.1 Before : around 6000 ROMs

4.2 After : around 3400 ROMS

5. I tried to update the list yesterday night, but nothing changed

6. I am using MameUIfx for Highscore support

Im guessing some filters inadvertly got turned on under advanced mame settings.

i would advise to change your mame version to 0.141 after i updated gameex i was down to just over 4,000 roms showing i installed mame 0.141 and now have over 8500 roms showing, nearly all have high score support except a few.

Thats just my opinion though.

I dont think that is doable as he wants a specifc version. Ive looked into the issue and I can't see anything wrong with the list updating itself. Im guessing it has to be that some filters got turned on unless I am missing something that would help me identify what the issue is.

Just for curiosity's sake, does the INI show which filters are turned on? If so perhaps posting that would be of some help? I know the log doesn't show this information in it, but never really examined the GameEx.ini before.

im having a issue with 11.51 also.no matter if filters are on or off,i always get 9990 games,my adult and zinc games also are not where they are supposed to be.plus,zinc wont even launch even when i find it in the all mame game list,it just loads it with mame

I would really like that this issue will be fixed. I just started MameUIfx32 and got around 8000 games, and in gameex, I get around 3000 games...also best games like Guwange are not visible in gameex, but can be played without any problems in mameuifx...please help...

Judging by your filter settings I would expect a list of around 2000-3000. Seems to me its working as it should. If you had a list of 8000 there was something different or wrong previously rather than something differernt or wrong now.

I suggest you post your ini and log. So far in this thread Ive been unable to find evidence of anything that is a serious bug in GameEx that affects the MAME list that is caused by 11.51 or any recent version.

Update:

4 Seperate issues in this thread but there is in fact a bug with the latest MAME Beta release and GameEx in that there are more games in it then GameEx currently supports. As always Ill get it fixed shortly.

I would just like to say as I have not said for several years but please do report what has changed when reporting an issue such as updated MAME version etc rather than just say its the latest version of GameEx causing an issue. I dont keep track of every MAME or emulator release and don't always know what the current version is either so also please say if its brand new.
