fRequEnCy Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Awesome feature Tom! Guess I've been away a little too long I got it setup ok it seems. I'm using the latest beta of client/server. Though I keep getting -No Games Found- is because no one is hosting? Or that I'm using a beta? Also the roms path is correct.Welcome back Hunk_4TH! -No Games Found- means what you figured. No one is hosting. Quote
Tom Speirs Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 Yes because no one is hosting or not hosting a game you have in your list. Most likeley the prior. Quote
headkaze Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 It might be nice to add a feature to request a future challenge. The day and time along with a length of time the user will wait or serve a connection. You could have a list of challenges coming up in their own region's time so people can organise to play each other. Quote
Hunk_4TH Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Welcome back Hunk_4TH! -No Games Found- means what you figured. antman23 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 looks like they are implementing a front end for client/server mame, so only a matter of time hopefully chrisc, tried joining your games today, one got through to saying 'waiting for players' but then it exit again Thanks for the welcome back Ah, well I figured I'd ask just to make sure it wasn't something on my end.Hmm I have a complete list for Mame. chrisqc Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 not from me but its on the mameworld.net news so i put it here for you all ChrisQCHey all,ClientServerMAME and ClientServerMESS 0.8 have been released. You can grab them here: https://github.com/MisterTea/ClientServerMAME/downloads 0.8 is a complete rewrite from scratch, but the basic premise is the same: A desync-free, low latency multiplayer support of MAME and MESS emulators over the internet. The main difference between 0.7 and 0.8 is that 0.8 uses a peer-to-peer network architecture for distributing player inputs, and only uses the client-server architecture for correcting desyncs, so latency is much lower and desyncs are rare.I've made a video showing ClientServerMESS running Super Mario Kart on an internet simulator, check it out here: I'm working on a program called MAMEHub that will allow players to meet and arrange games. MAMEHub provides a GUI interface to CSMAME, so people will not have to mess with the command line parameters. MAMEHub also checks to see if you have correctly forwarded port 5805 to your PC, and will warn you if it is not correctly forwarded. MAMEHub is currently not ready for public release, but is in an alpha testing phase. If you wish to be part of the closed alpha test, please email me or send me a PM.For more details and updates, check out my blog: http://10ghost.blogspot.com/I try to squash as many bugs as possible but with so many emulators and roms, I'm sure there are bugs out there. If you find any, please post a comment here or on the blog.Posted by Digitalghost at 08:58 PM Quote

Digitalghost Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Hey guys,Whether you use MAMEHub or GameEx, definitely give the latest version ( 0.9 ) of CSMAME/CSMESS a shot. I believe I've eliminated most of the networking bugs at this point and it's a lot more stable than previous versions. Quote
Adultery Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Does this mean it will work for me? I was getting a critical error before... I think it was an "illegal operation" error or something of that nature. I couldn't even get it to spit out an INI file. Works on my lappy though, so I was thinking it might have been related to my AMD processor in my cab..:EDIT:. It was a memory access violation I was getting. My bad. Quote

Hunk_4TH Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Anyone up for some Metal Slug or anything later? That is if these will work. I've always wanted to play those online. Maybe we need a matchmaking thread Quote

Maybe we need a matchmaking thread hey man, I would defintely recommend setting up "GPPO" and "supercade.net" supercade has support for loads of games and they are both very active. Quote
Adultery Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Anybody willing to start a netplay game to see if I finally got this bad boy running correctly? Quote

Draco1962 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 How do you have it setup for running from within GameEx (i.e., paths, etc.)? By default it installs to c:\Emulators\MAMEHub . Do you just set the path to c:\Emulators\MAMEHub\dist to work? Quote
Adultery Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 ^^That's what I did when it wouldn't work for me using the other EXE. With MAMEHub, now it works perfectly! It creates configs and runs games like it should.Wonder why the other EXE never worked for me but this one does? Oh well, at least it works! Quote
djxitec Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Hi,I'm from Germany and use my google translator is not English so well. How can I test whether I have opened port 5805 right? When I click in GameEx network game I can not find any players. If no players online? or I've done something wrong. Quote
Adultery Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 First: MAMEhub will make sure you have the right port open, as well as a list of games going for you to test out. If there's -no games found- in GameEx it means no one is hosting anything usually. Quote
celly Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Just got this up and rolling, neat feature. Can't wait to have a Mortal Kombat battle. Quote
Adultery Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Just let me know when Mesk! I'm all over that. Plus I've been wanting to test this feature since I put together my new cab internals. I'll be around tomorrow after 3:00 CST if you're down for some MK. Quote

I'll be around tomorrow after 3:00 CST if you're down for some MK. If I'm home, I'll be on. [EDIT] This is a really cool feature! Hopefully other members get this up and running on their cab. All it needs now is microphone support so I can sh*t talk opponents when I'm kicking their butt, right Adultery? Raiden, wins. Fatality. Quote
Hunk_4TH Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Anyone ever use this? I never see anyone playing anything LOL I'm always for some Metal Slug etc.. Quote
