Config and scanline questions

Just loaded GamEx up and I am loving it so far!!

couple of questions -

1 - How do I get scanlines to work automatically? I know that when I used arcade@home it would automatically set the scanlines in the most games but it would also not set scanlines to work in games that did not normally have them (like asteroids). I know that you can manually change the config file for each game and set your scan references - but what a pain! I know that arcade@home did this automatically for me!! When I add the command line " -scanline -nohwstretch" to the gameex options I do get the scanlines in games but the games like asteroids now do not work.

2 - Every time I run the GameEx config program(s) it resets all the settings back to default for me! How can i correct this?
