I really like the new Gamer Tag feature but I do think they look a little bland. I played around with one in Photoshop to give it some shading. Perhaps we should try and get a better design like some of the other Gamer Tag's I've seen on forums. What info would you like to be displayed on them and do you have any ideas on it's design?

Its next on my list to work on this, once I get GameEx with the new rendering system released. Thanks for the post. Id also like to make it linkable to offer some more stats.

So yes, ideas welcome :)

Linkable meaning someone can click on the image and be taken to the gamesdbase.com page? If so, excellent!

I do like this idea but since you can't use a dynamic link on a forum (or even embed a clickable image without adding a custom url link around it) it would require a special url that would redirect to a page. Eg. www.gameex.com/users/bkenobi which could have a page (like GameEx Live) which shows stats, current games, favourites etc. which all link back to gamesdbase.com.

Ohhh that tag is super sexy! Excellent choice of a user to beta the tag on too I must say!

I'm super excited about where this may lead. I see so much potential in this gamer tag it's not even funny. We ought to have a spot where the user can add their own "greeting", sort of like the way GameEx Live! displays your chosen words under the version number.

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see what the next step is!

Thats the plan :)

Tom, when offering more stats do you think it may be possible for users to select which data is displayed in their tag?

Also - What do I need to change in my settings to have the graphic display for Last Played?

I personally prefer the uptime stat over the number of active systems... If it makes any difference.

You mean you don't want to publish that you are watching porn? tongue.gif

Maybe I don't want to publish that I am streaming Broadway Musicals... :D

Having a few check boxes for the stats you wish to display, and maybe a place to enter a gamer motto. mood. or whatever is on your mind at the time in 50 chars or less.

Well, disregard. It is showing the last game snap now - could it be that I added the link for the Game Card in my sig after I had played the game?

TBH, some emulators and MAME have never displayed a snap for me (with the exception of that one time Galaga '88 worked). I just tried SMB 3 and it didn't work, but for some reason Donkey Kong on Colecovision showed up just fine. Some NES games appear to display while other's don't, even though I have a full set of images for nearly every emulator. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. :(

I also noticed that Secret of Evermore SNES worked, and when I played Pac-Man on MAME, it still displayed the image from when I played it on NES just before that. *shrugs*

.:EDIT:. See? Tetris shows up, but SMB 3 still doesn't. Fricking crazy. My setup is really starting to drive me nuts... It's like nothing works for me! :P
