gameex locks up

i just bought gameex and installed it and also the latest version of mame .130 . I configured it correctly because i had the unregistered version working with an older mame version. All the paths are correct. When I tell it to update list it usually locks up the computer after 5-10 minutes. I got it to not lock up once and finish the scan but whenever I go to play any rom my comp locks up hard again and no game plays due to locking up and needing to be forced off and reboot the comp.

I tried making sure that mame 130 did an audit of the games and I can play them with it no problem. I can't with gameex.

It just locks up. when it locked up while using update list, I kept getting the error--eeprom read ng! initialize eeprom and backup. Not sure what that means. Like I said,I got past that once and it finished the scan but if you try to play any game it locks up.

Did you have a different version of MAME running on your old config? Basically, is your version of MAME the same as your romset? If not, then you will probably have issues. Also, what version of GameEx were you running prior to registering? If it was an old version, new features could be set up incorrectly. Either way, if you want more help, please provide a log file so that we can see what's going on. It wouldn't hurt to post your gameex.ini either, but the log is needed.
