When I use the automatic snap creation option in GameEx the resulting images are all strangely coloured. Examples are attached below.

Anybody else have the same troubles? What could cause this? I can upload my configs/anything else if required.

This is because the emulaotr is running too low a display bit depth.

Try running the emulator in 16 or 32 bit colour.

I see. Is there anything I can do with emulators that don't give such options -- like O2EM, SimCoupe, etc.?

Sorry, no not currently.

Did something change? I did not have this problem before. I had created some snaps with the Atari800 emulator before, for example, and they look fine. Now when I try to do it with the same emulator I get the funky colours.

Would you be trying to create snaps for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 ? I noticed the same problem using O2EM. I found in-game snaps and titles for this system and many others at the No-intro Screenshot Archive at this link:

http://no-intro.dlgsoftware.net

download screenshot packs

download the dat for the system

use the No-intro Screenshot Archive - Image renamer tool provided on the website to rename the images using the dat file

hope this helps
