Hello

I have two U360 sticks on my CP. So I am using xpadder with Gameex to map keys to the sticks for navigation.

for those who are using xpadder, do you keep it running when lauching mame? can it interfere with mame usage of joysticks?

currently I am unloading it with with the gameex option to run a program before lauching mame and I am loading it again after mame finished running. Sometimes I seems to loose joystick (xpadder) input in gameex. wondering if that can be the cause and how other people are using xpadder

thanks!

Currently I am keeping it running but I am having some issues.

----------------------

I am having a slight issue with Xpadder and Mame that maybe someone here can help me with. It seems that when I configure Mame with my X-Arcade and Xbox 360 controller (360 using Xpadder) that sometimes the settings do not stay configured within Mame. This may be due to the fact that sometimes when I start Mame I do not have the 360 controller on so it does not see it and reverts to default settings because it is not there, however when I say default settings though I mean it reverts back to the setting of Mame before I ever make any changes to it. I have not confirmed this yet but I never had this problem just using my X-Arcade in the past, it has only occurred since I started using the 360 controller and Xapdder. I mean Mame is great because it seems that you can set a unlimited amount of commands to each key control but I just wish they would stay that way whether the controller is present or notâ?¦ Well at least that seems to be the issue from what I can tell at the moment.

Ideas or thoughts?

Thanks.

--------------------------

Regarding your issue, do you have joystick support turning on in Game Ex and configured?

Another thing I noticed with my setup above is this and I think this is what is happening. When my Xbox 360 is turned off and I load Mame running Xpadder with no controller detected, all my Mame settings get reverted back to default. =[

Hello, I have a major issue with xpadder + GameEx but ONLY when I use "Launch before" and "Launch after" options.

Running in debug or normal mode, xpadder starts and the emulator subsequently can't load.

I've tried xpadder with or without argument /M and with or without profile.

The path is very simple, e.g. C:\Emu\Xpadder\Xpadder.exe /M

If I manually close xpadder selecting the icon in system tray, the emulator starts up and everything runs normally.

If I run Xpadder BEFORE launching Gameex, the emulator starts everytime without any problem.

Also, in this case the command xpadder /C is recognized (Launch After) and application regularly closes on exit.

I tried Xpadder with Future Pinball and ColEm, the problem is the same.

I use Xbox360 joypad and i mapped z-axis stick and analog triggers in xpadder profile.

I run emulators with Advanced Config using a little script to exit games pressing joypad buttons (back+start+LB+RB simultaneously).

(but tried disabled Advanced a couple of times with no result)

(also:, can I find these settings in MAME options? how can I use the same script or exit game using a combination of joy buttons?)

Finally I would like to ask if it's possible to configure analogic triggers/z-axis with a (less friendly) script (Advanced Config) using VKcodes.

Vista Home Premium, updated version of GameEx, Xpadder, emulators.

Thank you very much to anyone that could help.

Sorry for asking, I just Found the solution (maybe a little tricky) in a previous post.

The emulator won't stop running when I call xpadder via a bat file.

The bat file should be run from "Also run" GameEx option. For some reason xpadder won't work if I run it directly in "Also run" command line.

Now only 1 question remains: how can I exit Mame games with a combination of joypad buttons? I can't find "Advanced Config" script launching for Mame.

There isn't an advanced config for MAME. Just press following in MAME:

  • Press {TAB}
  • Select Input (general)
  • Select User Interface
  • And change buttons to exit in UI Cancel

One question to all. Are you using the wireless Xbox 360 pad or the wired version? I find the wireless one much harder to use with GameEx ,Mame etc. It seems to go into sleep mode(battery saving) too often. Then I have trouble getting it to relink with the pc unless I exit back to windows desktop. I don't seem to have the same problem with Logitec wireless pads. The sad thing is some of the newer PC games use the Xbox 360 pad as a standard option and will not easily allow you to use a different pad. I think its a problem with the 360 Pads software design.

That is a commonly mentioned problem with the XBox 360 wireless controllers. I've never heard of a fix for it though. That's precisely why I went with Logitech Rumblepads instead of the XBox controllers. I like the form of them, but if they don't work it doesn't matter.

I am using the wireless ones and have had no problems along the lines of it turning off, then back on and Game Ex not seeing it. The problem I am having strictly has to do with it on being there (turned off), running Mame, Mame not seeing it there and then Mame throwing out the config file all together, reverting back to it's default settings.

The only thing I can suggest with your problem, Visitor_Q, is to make the config file read only. If you launch a game and MAME has an issue, worst case is that you crash MAME (which I doubt would happen). This will keep the file from being overwritten at least.

Yeah... I was considering this.

A member on another forum had some ideas as well that I have not fully tried yet so I will keep you updated on a solution when I reach it.

Thanks for your advice.
