Running GameEx:

post-2333-1223127420_thumb.jpg

I mounted a cherry switch to the coin return button on the coin door to start the computer, and bought one of the "Smart Strips" that turns off everything when the computer is shut down. I used instant sheller, with Gameex in the startup folder, and the only option available in the exit\shutdown menu is "Turn off Computer". It makes for a nice, clean setup.

I'm also using Bkenobi's Mouse2Key.ahk script to control Gameex with the steering wheel. Very Slick. Thanks BK!

hey guys, here's a pic of my cab running GamEx out on my porch. I built the cab from some original cab plans found on the net. I only changed the cab depth because I have a 22" LCD instead of an arcade monitor. The guts is an AMD dual core with 3g ram and an ATI card. X-arcade tank stick to control the action and a small beer fridge off to the left to keep me happy!

Just thought I'd upload a few pics of my gaming machine running GameEx. I had a PC custom built specifically to play this stuff, with an HDMI connection so I could hook it up to my 51 inch Hitachi CRT HDTV. It's been a dream come true for me. Let me know what you think. Also, here are a few low quality, no sound videos of it running on Youtube:

Just wanted to thank all the GameEx users and developers for their help in getting my Arcade Odyssey machine all configured. It was a six month process building it, but now I get to PLAY! It's running just about every emulator, CPWizard, Ultrastick Plugin, Xpadder, and all the other bells and whistles the community has to offer. And all being controled via the phenomenal GameEx. I am consistently amazed at everyone's level of commitment. Thanks so much for doing what you do!

I posted a slightly different version of this vid over on BYOAC too, so sorry for the repetition.

Ok, here's my cab. Took me about 2 months of weekends, on and off. I think the major accomplishments were the fact that I never built anything from wood before, so I didn't expect much. Also, I didn't have a lot of tools and built this thing using some battery powered hand tools (saw, screw driver, drill).... that's it. It came out much better than I though it would.

No side art yet, but that will arrive shortly.

FINALLY my cab is completed at DreamAuthentics. I had them put everything but the kitchen sink on it. They sent me some pics and it ships out tomorrow... now the question is how long to get from Indiana to Savannah... I got a feeling I will be calling in sick whatever day that is.

beginning of April I got a Quadro Games Duo,

which has a motorized rotating monitor.

Of course I have installed GameEx in slot 1 and left slot 2 with an original game PCB.

Unfortunately the outer appearance of the cabinet was in bad shape.

and the CP also :

first sketch for a new CP :

final drawing for the CP, only the font was changed before printing.:

new sticks & buttons and J-PAC installed :

and so the CP looks now :.

I was wondering about the design of the cabinet and I decided that :

- it should match the Revenge from Mars pinball standing nearby

- therefore : black red theme with red T-moldings

- outer space theme

- there should be in reminiscence to the original manufacturer "Quadro Games" that name on it.

and this is how it looks now :

and near my "Revenge from Mars"

Took a while but here's my friend's first cab that I helped him build. Still trying to decide on the sideart though. Since it's blue we're thinking some kind of vicious smurf design or some other cool blue thing. Can't think of too many blue things though. So far we've got smurfs, blue dragon, genie from Aladdin, maybe Leonardo the blue turtle...any ideas?
