No Sound with GameEx

Hi All,

I am having a bit of an issue with sound using GameEx.

There is the ambient arcade sound when in the menu screens, but when a game is started the sound quits and there is no sound in game play.

If I play a game through the mame32 application the sound works fine.

The sound works fine in all other applications and in windows. It's just isolated to game play in gameex.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps you have a setting wrong somewhere... Make sure you haven't inadvertently disabled sound for MAME games in either the command line or an advanced MAME setting?

Checked all that. All the settings are good.

Do you need the registered version for sound to work?

Sound should work regardless. Would have to be something in the way it's being called from GameEx. Post your commandline settings so we can have a look see.

Are you sure the sound on your system or speakers isn't set really low? My system has the sound set low in GameEx and many games in MAME appear to have no sound even though they are set to maximum in the settings (hit ~ to adjust sound in game).

Turns out it was sound card drivers.

Installed the latst and everything is working!!
