I followed the instructions to what I thought was to the T and for the life of me I cant get the intro vid to work at start up! :(

The videos are in C:\GameEx\Videos. I'm not sure what to do can someone help? I tried to google the error and came up with zilch.

Thanks in advance!!!!! :)

The correct procedure for having startup videos is to set up the folder under video settings in the Setup Wizard of under Multimedia settings in the advanced config, and not how you have done to try and run the file at startup.

PS: Welcome :)

Sorry, but I was wondering if you could explain it a little more as I am new to GameEx.

Thank you :)

Oh! before I forget, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling GameEx and this tim I installed it directly to C:\GameEx

and the video directory is C:\Video. I went through the Advanced Configuration in the video/movie settings and the set up is as follows,

I clicked Yes where is asks do you want to enable video playback?

Video Path/s: is C:Video

Startup Video/Dir: C:\Video so it would play a random video

Then I set it up like below so it would play a specific video

Video Path/s: is C:Video\vid.avi

Startup Video/Dir: C:\Video\vid.avi

Still didn't work!

I also downloaded and Installed FFDShow

And in the Tweaks/Performance I set the Launch on start up to C:\Video

and that didnt work so I changed it to C:\Video\vid.avi and No luck :(

Plaese tell me what I'm doing wrong and if you could walk me through this it would appreciated.

In your post you mentioned Configuring the folder under video settings in the Setup Wizard of under Multimedia settings in the advanced config,

I couldn't find any thing that said MultiMedia settings in the advanced Config of the Setup Wizard.

and I'm still getting the same error that the file could not be found. :(

Thank you!!! again :)

Please do the following:

Run Advanced Configuration from the GameEx Start Menu program group

-or-

run [location of the GameEx directory]\GameExConfig.exe

Click on Tweaks/Performance

Clear all the text in the â??Launch on Startupâ? field

Click on Save at the bottom

Click on Multimedia/HTPC (you may need to click on â??Next Pageâ? button at the bottom to see the Multimedia/HTPC button

In the â??Startup Video/Dirâ? field enter â??C:\Video\vid.aviâ?

Click Save

Click Exit

Launch GameEx

Hope this helps
