I am getting ready to go down this road myself, so your saying that when launching this way the WiiMote won't initialize? What about when you hit Alt-F5 on the keyboard when it launches? That should connect Wii Mote 1. I wonder if it is possible to send the Alt-F5 command after launching without having to get out the keyboard. any other things to watch out for in launching Dolphin form GameEX? Edit: Sorry didn't read where you said 2 wii mote, I think that one is Alt-F6

no not a T1 by any means lol I think I max out at 1.5 up and down but the latency is weird so the most I see on download / upload is 300kbps This is my first time messing with themes, so I took one I liked and worked with it, it is a overhaul of the BlueEX theme. I have tested it at 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1360x768 so far. I mostly use GameEX for games so if you see something weird please let me know and I'll work on it. One thing I like most about this is the nice clean layout, and clean Icons and etc for the menus. now that I am getting used to the theme editor more I'll work on making a V4 theme soon. Anyway let me know what you think!

what are you kidding me? do you know how many times I have purchased dragons lair lmao and a few others I still have a PC copy of Brain Dead 13 (oooh which reminds me I havent checked to see if that one works in vista) I seen the HD version seems to come in three Flavours HD-DVD, Blue Ray and The PC version which comes on DVD and average $30. Goanna make me upgrade to a Blue Ray drive on my main HTPC lmao. It's sad that I havent upgraded because I havent been impressed with many movies, but I'll do it for Dragons Lair!

is there a FTP site I can upload the theme I am working on to??? I tried mega upload and for a 15mb file I have let it go for about 4 hours now and it says only 332k is up lmao I also have the Mame lightning intro incase anyone wants that.

been working on a theme, basically modified a lot of the BlueEX 1024x768 theme since I liked the layout and feel, and found a lot of replacement pics on the internet as well as making some of my own. I have been runing at 1360x768 for the most part but assume all that would happen is the background will get smooshed somewhat. I really only use GameEX for emulation but have replaced some of the other media Icons in the pack. anyway it is about 16mb zipped.... I would like to have someone try it out and see how it looks and feels on different displays if you would like to try it out let me know how to get it to you I can't e-mail it anymore since my work e-mail limits to 4mb I may try to set my FTP server backup again but that will have to wait for the weekend!! for now I'm headed off to bed lol I have spent waaay too much time in the past week messing with this and trying to figure out the GIMP on my own lmao

yeah I have been trying to save with completely transparent backgrounds but the drop shadows on some items are getting me I just now tried to make a couple menu selection bars for the heck of it and found that transparent backgrounds wont work, either that or the bar has to be filled to the brim exact sizekinda thing just tinkering for now but fun none the less need to find some tutorials lol

beautiful! I actually found most of these were in another front ends theme pack but virtual boy wasn't in there! Thanks! I'm having a fun time playing around with the GIMP well as much fun as excruciating pain can be lmao. I'm not a graphic artist by any means and the whole transparencies thing in GameEX is throwing me off. I made a nice Exit sign and the transparancy came out really freakin dark but hey it's something to do and I will certainly enjoy the end result!

is there a suggested method for making graphics with transparency in the Gimp or photoshop to help out on this? Elfo, I'm assuming you had to cut the white layer you placed on top to match the shape of the graphic you made, correct? I'm kinda new to some of this graphics stuff but trying to pick some up to help me design items for gameex

all I had to do is under the multimedia section put in my startup vid folder path and ti took right off, didnt have to add anything else or enable anythiing else wanted that lightning mame movie for a while now and finally found it to put on!

the F12 may only work if you have a keyboard with the F-Keys option you may actually press the Print Screen key on your keyboard and then go in to paint to paste the clipboard contents of the screen capture you took. For MAME place all your snapshots in the MAME snaps directory then in gameEX MAME configuration you have to point to that directory as well. stuff you might already know but worth checking Are you using the GUI version of MAME? if so do your snapshots show up there? (once the directory has been configured in the GUI version of MAME)

hrm... not home and exit buttons kinda makes me a little sad the exit button on the menu bar does nothing now for me, acts more like a way to go back to the home page then actually exit can the font size in the menu bar be adjusted independently of the rest of the layout? and can it be justified to the right instead of the left... (going to look now) is it possible to have pictures instead of words for the menu bar and justify thier position? lol yeah I know thats going back to the whole button thing but would be a fair comprimise I'm just full of questions now for themes lol any plans on adding support for flash items or the like? for example flash based backgrounds, animations in menus etc? No I'm not a flash programmer or developer...but it woudl be interesting to see what comes up. I remember I used to find all sorts of neat flash backgrounds and they are small in size. I once did a Jedi Knight theme on my PC and had a flash desktop background of the Jedi Knight symbol that rotated around. Then later did a skull one that was pretty neat too! doing flash stuff might be too costly though I understand but just figured I'd ask the question

havent updated my version of mame32 in a loooong time, so much so that I didnt even realize mame 32 was now mameui32 lol...made it kinda tricky to find! anyway I want to updat my mame32 install to the latest version but dont want to overwrite my settings. any suggestions?

I noticed when editing the theme I have that I can only have the menu bar with change view, back home and exit...but I can't seem to add in the little home and exit buttons at the top, nor remove the menu bar. is this because I am editing this as a V4 instead of a V2? would the same apply for expanded text on selections? if both of these are not availible I'll go back to what I was doing before and manually replacing elements in the directory I like like both of those options too much!

cool thanks I did find a gamegear one late last night but it was a JPG and I have been working on chageing the perspective to match and getting rid of the fuzzy edges the SNES one I found I think I am going to try to replace... Originally the console had a yellow tinge to it and I edited the pic and removed yellow from it but now the console is two shades of gray lmao right now I'm just doing this all by hand swapping stuff out on the theme I liked, but when I get done swapping stuff out I am going to try to play with the theme editor and change fonts move stuff around and etc. I need to be careful though lmao I have spent too many late nights doing this was up till 4 am one night and looked at the clock and sait oh $#17 I need to get to sleep

actually should say looking for nice PNG files that are already cropped and cut out. it is a HUGE PITA to take a JPG and cut it out and all that here is a neat site BTW that has a lot of great pics and info http://www.vidgame.net/ most of the pics have a copywrite watermark on them of course lol

I've been toying around with modifying one of the themes I like and kinda making my own theme. I found a bunch of nice high quality pics of consoles and handhelds but still missing some like the Sega Game Gear, Saturn, Virtual boy, and a few others (but those are the troublesome ones right now. I can find some decent pics but nothing like the ones I have for other systems that are nice and clear and crisp. Granted some systems I prob won't really emulate or may not be emulated but wanted to kinda get a complete set of pics to include just incase. Then I also got to thinking.... some of the pics I didn't check on copywrite or etc.... I mean yeah for now this is for my personal use but if I did want to share this theme I dont want to get anyone in trouble if the theme gets hosted or etc.... yeah I'm sure I would have bigger problems than copywrite of pictures lmao, but not going to start a legal argument thread lmao SO DONT RESPOND TO THAT! roflmao anyway I attatched two pictures of what I have done with the theme so far (no it doesn't show it all but all the console pics show up just as nice and clean as the n64 pic does) I have another one I am going to make if this one comes out well and found some cool looking pics of consoles done in vector art, almost look liek they are cell shaded kinda lol... but sadly only have a few consoles in that group anyway back to modifying my theme, if you know of a site with nice high quality pics and logos let me know, I found a ton of logos but still some I am searching for and some I would like to have cleaner!

Anyone have reccomended setups for this version for dreamcast? I about have Marvel Vs Capcom 2 running good but still see some graphical glitches and if I use most of the audio plugins I get crackeling on the audio and the one that doesnt do that sometimes loses sound all together I've had my dreamcast sitting in the closet now for quite some time lol and have been wanting to break it out for house of the dead 2, how does this emulator handle lightgun input (if it does)? havent looked in to it but woudl be fun to messaround with if it uses the mouse and sync my Wii mote up and finally be able to play on my bigscreen lmao (lightgun only works on CRT TVs )

I seperated mine to prevent this I ended up using ungoodmerge to eliminate the clones and duplicates and etc etc, then the game boy and game boy color I unzipped and put them in to seperate directories

well I figure for speed and cleanliness I am just using ungoodmerge and getting just (U) (JU) and [!] filters combined to help out. I'm running through all this now. My brain is so fried lately I have been wanting to do this centralization and etc for a long time and have been working on it for a few days now when I can, and in the process making my own theme (well modifying one I liked to suit my needs lol) so I have been up late too many days now and tryign to do all this so my brain is working on fumes right now

yeah but with project 64 being the only one to load a hair slow, and when I say a hair slow I mean like an extra second to second and a half, I'm not worried less to install on each machine locally! which is part of my goal here, to have less to install each time. for example I am getting ready to upgrade my daughters mahcine here soon and sell off her Gateway 901x HTPC which means fresh installs of everything no after her as long as some traumatic even doesnt happen I shouldnt be upgrading anyting for a few months if not year or two.
