Since ePSXe was just updated I just updated and ran across a question that's been buggin me for awhile.

Has anyone has been able to set up custom controls on a per rom basis? I thought I had it figured out as you can control the config through the command line but the controls are edited from the menu in-game and near as I can tell not part of the config.

I like to use a gamepad for certain PS games and my actual arcade controls for others and it's a pain to reconfigure with each game.

Why not use xpadder? This is what you do.. lets say your directions on your arcade stick is up arrow, down, left and so on... And your buttons are T,Y,U,I,O,P

Then you config your emu to use those keys as your controls... (with me so far?)

Then launch xpadder... Bind your joypad directions to Up arrow, down, left and so on and your gamepad buttons to T,Y,U,I,O,P. (now you have one config)

Then you launch Xpadder with gameex... You can configure ALL your emus to the above keys and when ever you feel like picking up your pad it just works...

Thats how I do it.

Thanks for the idea Brian, that would work if I didn't use my 2 Rumblepads as Player 3 and Player 4 for MAME. If I assigned keys across the board they'd conflict.

Itwould if the controller were diffrent... Xpadder can decipher which gamepad is plugged in and map bind the keys accordingly... So you would have dedicated player 3 and 4 controllers. Its a slight drawback to get your desired results.
