The "Zombie" arcade machine launches in the UK. Opinions welcome.

I recently launched my new product, the zombie arcade machine, and would welcome feedback from this fantastic forum. I use GameEX as the menu system and I would like to thank Tom Speirs for his support.

The "zombie arcade machine" has taken me almost 12 months to complete. Built into the cab is a 24" LCD TV, which is connected to an integrated speaker system and top spec PC. The control panel consists of Sanwa sticks, LED buttons, and is finished off with a smooth CP overlay. It includes 139 licensed games but is also compatible with MAME and other emus.

www.zombiearcades.co.uk is the official website however it's still 'under construction".

I'd really appreciate your feedback guys.

Wow that is one sexy arcade cabinet!

BTW What are you using to control the LEDs or are they perminately lit?

They are permanently lit. I may look into having them light up relative to each game. But they look so good lit up like that I'm not sure it's necessary.

But again, I'm open to feedback.

Nice cab Zombie, well done!

How do you like your Ultimarc buttons? I notice in one of the pics one appears dimmer than the others. This is a problem I've had with mine, and I've rewired them a couple times. I haven't been entirely happy with the feel of them for button mashing games like Joust either. The spring action seems different than a regular concave Happ button. Thinking of swapping mine out for Groovy Game Gear ones which seem to be similar to the traditional Happ ones. I think they're great for 'admin' type buttons but not as good for games.

I'm pretty happy with the buttons to be honest. I've only had the 'dim light' issue a couple of times and it disappears after you actually hit the button. I also love the chrome effect and I haven't seen any other brands that can offer this. If there is, then I will take a look.

Yeah, mine 'dim out' like that on 3 different cabs i've built with them and hitting the button fixes it temporarily. Kind of a pain though. I like the chrome trim and illumination but not the button action, just not the same. Anyway, nice cab!

I'll be moving into a bigger place soon :P. Just wondering, how much would one of these beasts cost and what level of customisation is offered?

Canti,

A "zombie" costs £2850 inc VAT and delivery (UK mainland). What did you have in mind re: customisation?

Ive seen these at Gramlin and to be real honist i think its very over priced. They Look real good just to epensive. Is this becuase of the Fully licenced games.

Allso what is the PC that is inside as in Full spec. Allso why do you not allow the Casing to be opend as it invaldates the warrenty. This is a bit mad becuase if you ould like to install more games and a larger list of emulators you would void your warrenty.

I use the Same Buttons on my system and dont have a Issue with the Lower light levels. But did notice that the lightss wires are not perfect and dont give 100% contact. I just moved tham arround a little and fixed them into place.

Nice work and nice logos ect ect just over all a bit to expensive. For the price you selling these for i think there should be a fully working Cash unit installed and the lights should be the RGB ones.

Thats just my opion though. Over all qualty of the build its near perfect. Would love to take some think like this and stick C-Maccs into it. hehe

Well customization as in, without the PC inside, just the cab itself ;). Perhaps without a screen too since I have a nice 19" 4:3 one already. Basically what's the cheapest way to get this because for me that's a good 4-5 months wages away as it is now :(.

Do you create custom marquee's? Panel art?
