Hi All,

I love gameex, and I've been using it for a while now. I only use it for games and emulation, so I would like to be able to turn off any menu's that are not related. So far, I've killed everything but I can't seem to find somewhere to turn off the multimedia menu, and the sub-menu radio ( I've disabled all the radio stations, but the menu still shows up!)

Is there some way I can remove this? Not a big deal but annoying...

This program integrates really nicely with Media Portal, which I love for the rest of my HTPC duties.

Thanks in advance,

cguy

You can definitely make it go away, you just need to make sure everything is deactivated/empty/off in the setup menus. Do a quick sweep through the setup wizard again and look for anything that is on or active that is related. Double-check the DVD section.

Also, if you love GameEx, hopefully you've kicked down the registration fee to support the dev's. :) It's a great product and worth the cost of what amounts to one good joystick for your cab.

You bet! I sent in my payment the very day, I saw what it could do.

I'm new to GameEX and I swear, I just spent DAYS on this problem. All I wanted was MAME and Emulated games and I couldn't get rid of multimedia for the life of me. Because of the radio!

Comes to find out I was using "Setup Wizard" when I should have been using "Advanced Configuration". I was in such a hurry to get my cab up and running again with a new frontend that I didn't even notice the Advanced Configuration and went up and down Setup Wizard about 100 times!

Try this: Advanced Configuration -> MultiMedia/HTPC -> Radio Enabled -> NO!

I still think it's a bit misleading. Why not just have one configuration app?

Okay here is the deal.. The advanced config is what origanally was packaged with the gameex install... Its what I use. (only because old habits die hard) Headkaze wrote and maintains the setup wizard which is very usefull to newbies.. It downloads emus for you and lets you easily import working configurations... Not to mention additions like bypass the 40 something emulator limit from the gameex advance config. Enough with the history.... Let headkaze know that you would like that optiion to be available from the setup wizard which is great and very well written.

Gameex caters to a diverse user group... Some will find it easier to use the setup wizard. Some the advance config.

Even then there are still things you will need to manually edit in the gameex.ini

like adding more that 5 emulator groups... You cannot do that in either app.

If theres a will there is a way... Use the feature requests ( thats why they exist) And somebody might come along that can either do it for you or program it.

Happy gaming
