A few more questions

Hey, is anyone else having this problem. Every so often when I exit a game and expect to go back to the GameEx menu all I get is a black screen with a mouse pointer in the center. The only way I have found to get out of this is to Ctrl+Alt+Del my way out and close the program. Does anyone know how to fix this? The other problem I'm having is getting games like Miss Pacman to save my high scores. I know this is more a "MAME" question but games like "Strikers 1945iii" saves my high scores with no problems but games like Miss Pacman don't. Any ideas?

In terms of saving scores, some games don't actually save your score upon reset like the true hardware orginally ran. Take Bump N Jump. Doesn't Save. They were built this way. I believe Ms. Pacman is one of those types.

In terms of black screens are you talking about Mame or another emulator?

So far it's just MAME that causes the program to go to a black screen. MAME is the only thing I use GameEx for though. Everything works great untill I hit Esc to exit whatever game I'm playing. Doesn't happen all the time but enough to make it a problem. I'm using MAME32 v. 118 for 99% of the games. MAME v. 106 for the others (Killer Instinct 1 and 2, and TMNT 2). For some reason GameEx doesn't see Strikers 1945iii or TMNT 2 without me setting up a seperate bat file for them, even if they work fine in MAME32. That is another issue I have. I have a complete MAME v. 118 rom set (6000+ games) but under GameEx it only shows around 3000+ games. I did eliminate Majong games but there aren't 3000 of them. Anyway, thats not really a problem thanks to the fact that I can set up a different emulator for my favorites with bat files in seperate directories. The black screen is a problem though. Any ideas?

Ok disable map keys for mame.. This means ESC will no longer trigger GAMEEX to close the running process.

In MAME press TAB goto input settings. It might be in other controls... You are looking for UI cancel. Define a key or KEYS for this..

This will exit mame correctly.. Once mame closes gameex will regain focus.

This might solve your problems

As far as the gamees gameex wont find..check your filters..eg bootleg,clone etc... or you can always put them in the do not filter list... then update your gameelist

For some reason I'm having the same trouble that you have with the lists. TMNT 2 and Strikers 1945iii do not show up in my lists. I have tried the refreshing the lists, and updating Mame and Roms, and it still is not coming out right. I also have about 3600 roms showing. I have filtered Porn, Majong, Japan;Korea;Asia;Hispanic;Bootleg;French;German;Hack;Prototype;Hardware, so I see why the number has been cut down.

Are there any other roms like TMNT 2 and Strikers 1945iii that should be listed but aren't. They showed up when I put them on the "Don't Filter These Roms" on the Advanced Mame Setting in Gameex Configuration.

I get the same thing on my pc. When I switched the path to regular Mame, and not Mame32, Galaga appeared.

Either there is a setting that we are missing, or there is a bug.
