Funny, I just wrote about GTA4 in feature requests. I have it running through gameex. But I also have the digital download version, so I don't need a CD/DVD in the drive. The problem with gameex is that it returns to gameex before GTA4 even launches, then GTA4 takes over. After GTA4 closes, Gameex is stuck in the taskbar and even if you try to reopen it, you get a blank screen. I think it would be nice to have an option for "Close Gameex after emulator launches".

News works. Weather works. Changing themes, some work. 1942 theme works. But... Default Theme - Gameex V1 doesn't work. Crashes Gameex.

Related Problem: After installing Gameex, it asks me whether I want to start the setup wizard. I put a checkmark next to it, and click Finish. Then an error message pops up that says, "SetupWizard.exe failed to start. Requires high elevation of access" bascially saying that you're not me (administrator of the computer) and you don't have the right to automatically run another .exe after the install.

Is that a challenge?

Yes, Windows 7 is in beta, but it's pretty solid. Here's what I found thus far: 1.) Gameexconfig.exe doesn't work in Windows 7 2.) Ben Baker's SetupWizard.exe does work 3.) SetupWizard.exe issue: When you click on the ... to browse for a location, an error message pops up that says it can not access a cd drive. Close off that error message and then the browse folders option appears. 4.) Gameex runs. Installed Halo - Combat Evolved and ran it through Gameex. Halo runs. 5.) Upon exiting Gameex, my desktop background was disabled until I simply opened up the personalize section of Windows 7. It should be noted that this happened after I exited Gameex but had not run Halo yet, so it wasn't the emulator that caused the background to disappear. Hope this helps.

Gameex is free. I can download it and it will not stop working after a trial period. Sure, there are features you can pay for, but they aren't vital to the experience.

Use it on all 3 of your home computers. That's fine. Just don't give it to anyone else.

I think it would be cool if we could have gameex identify console 2 player games. Here's my idea: If a game name has a symbol, say a $ or %, at the end of the name, that Gameex would highlight that game name a different color, and yet, not show the $ or % sign. So when looking at a game list, it would have two colors, one for single player games, and one for two player games.

Check out your Mame settings. Open up Mame.

Might be a router problem. When it happens, have you tried exiting Gameex, wait a few minutes, then come back and enter Gameex again? Sometimes Windows takes a minute or two to display networked drives. Also, why not host the files locally on your computer?

Create an emulator group. Have emulators that go to the same workpath but different rompaths. Then create an emulator group.

Open up the gameex config and under MAME settings, you should find an option to turn them off and on.

You can turn it off via the theme editor.

The chat room still has all the things we said since the other day. Do you want it to start afresh when a user logs in? I mean, is it supposed to keep record of everything? If so, over time the chat text would grow longer and longer.

Try pinnacle game profiler. And in Gameex set the "also launch" to launch the profile you create for Winuae.

I use ALT + F4 using Pinnacle Game Profiler to exit the game. I set my back button on my 360 controller to AlT F4 fusion.
