Updated the package...now has an advanced.ini for use standalone that will exit the game properly from joystick or gamepad.

Also has fewer game configs from the get go as I have clones using the same config file...to help speed things along should you dislike the default bindings.

Works awesome! (except for the previously mentioned issue that hasn't anything to do with your wrapper).

Only one problem:

Your wrapper isn't killing Joy2Key for me after I exit. This may be because the only method that's ever worked for me was to launch a script that killed Joy2Key manually. I'm not sure why I can't get it to kill the process any other way - I think the script I use opens Joy2Key and kills it with a key combo...

I noticed this earlier when I was trying to play a SNES game and my square button was disabling a sprite layer. I'm going to re-test right now.

.: EDIT :. I can't re-test. Although I played Hyper Athlete for a few minutes to test and turned GameEx off, posted this post, burned one, came back, reloaded Hyper Athlete. Now for some reason it's doing the same thing the others do: The game seems to load okay but it goes to a black screen. I think it's got something to do with Joy2Key but I can't be sure. It almost seems like Joy2Key is loading and ZiNc is falling to the background and I can't play it in GameEx... Perhaps it's even starting out minimized? I don't know. The only way to get ZiNc, the wrapper and the Joy2Key to terminate is by CTRL+ALT+DEL and killing ZiNc manually.

Suggestions?

PS - I did try the other renderer with no luck.

Well Joy2Key should be loading prior to zinc actually according to how the script is written.

Now by default Joy2Key should be set to minimize on startup.

Its INI setting is "StartIconified=1"

Now I have noticed its icon still in the system tray...but the process is actually closed.

Maybe add a sleep command prior to exicuting the game and see if that helps...actually I'll post a modified version for you to try.

I'm aware of the icon in the taskbar... It's got something to do with the bar refreshing. The problem I was having where Joy2Key wouldn't terminate went away (mysteriously) once I updated the wrapper. I'm not entirely sure that's the problem, I just only have this problem with games that are relying on j2k specifically (KN1 games). That's the only different thing I can think of on these games that aren't working.

I just have to suspect that because the game played and launched for me the first time I tried it. *shrugs*

I'll try that new build. :)

Well some thing else that maybe causing problems (stab in the dark) is that maybe I by accident packaged up some of my cfg files from the "*\zinc\cfg\" folder that maybe system dependant... so maybe clear out those cfg files and try again.

Well the KN1 games are the only ones that call J2K....and they are all CHD's...so they are different in that area.

Actually you are aware that I changed names used in the Settings.ini that refer to the configs....that maybe the source of your problem.

Hyper_Athlete.cfg

Powerful_Baseball_96.cfg

Susume!_Taisen_Puzzle-Dama.cfg

Wedding_Rhapsody.cfg

I updated the loader...added back the kill key...currently set to ESC

Yo Nolo!

It's working great now. I downloaded the one at the head of this thread, and I tested it on KN1 games. I had to change the buttons around, but you'll have that.

Seems to be 100% ready now. :)

The wrapper's a no go on Windows Vista. :(

:(

I have no intention of supporting vista.

However even if I wanted to it would still come down to AutoIt supporting vista...since source code is released. Hehe so I don't have much say in what others do with it. :)
