Fresh install - Problems with MAME

Fresh install of GameEx on arcade and can’t get Mame to run!
- Version: 0.255
- I have one game in the Roms folder to start: Puc Man

Couple things going on.

1. When I load the game, it immediately kicks me back to the GameEx menu
2. I am now getting a pop up that says “New Game Ex Version Update?  Select to continue”
 - When ai select it and try the update, it doesn’t appear to work.  I reload the GameEx and get the same pop-up.

I know it’s a simple fix, but it has been alluding me for two full days!

P.S. Regarding the update loop issue -  Sometimes the update from within the frontend doesn't properly, so I have found downloading GameEx directly and running the installer fixes the issue.

Reloaded from scratch and everything is working again.

I blame WINDOWS! :-)

I got a bunch of my games loaded and everything is running great, but I can’t seem to get PAC-MAN (puck man) to show up.

anyone else run I to this?
I thought puckman was the original that I needed.

you are correct in that puck man is the master original rom and pac man is the English speaking clone. I would rather play pac man than puck man but I don't know why it is not showing up. I only ever checked and put big effort into pac man always showing up correctly! Sorry. i will take a look at some point.

Likely a setting that is off but hard to know without the requested support files. 🫥

Did you ever get the Puck Man issue sorted? If not please attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files and we'll be glad to take a look and advise accordingly.
