Hi everybody,

I'm curious as to what types of controllers people are using. Has anyone made thier own arcade controllers? Sounds like alot of fun to me only because I'm an electronics technician.

I've been using an old logitech wingman controller and its on its last leg. I was thinking of buying some of these: http://www.lik-sang.com/list.php?nav=top&category=160 Has anyone ever tried one out. Are there any other products someone can recommend to me for using a dual shock/n64/nes controller on pc.

Thanks,

BB

I use this one http://surf.to/buttonbox

It's a low cost keyboard encoder (compare to JPAC,IPAC from ultimarc.com)

Very easy to do, cheap, fun to realize, and usefull.

No Ghosting Keys, MAME Default settings supported and others emulators.

Hope you'll try this one and give us feedback here. :D

Until I can save up enough money to build a full cab, I am using an XBox controller. I added a usb pigtail and use XBCD along with joytokey to control it. I have the comp attached to the TV in my living room and it works great; especially with joytokey's mouse emulation for PC apps. I'm gonna hack up another controller this coming week so that I can get some good two-player action going!

I use the X-Arcade Dual controller. http://www.xgaming.com

I'm, going to be building my first cab soon (purchase of material next week! ) and it will be based around it. My custom cab will be made from my own plans and the controller will be detachable because I'm thinking about replacing it with a homemade controller sometime in the future.

I'm also using a dual controller from X-Arcade. It saved me a ton of time compared to building my own and supports multiple platforms. Well worth the money. Click the link below for pictures of the cabinet that I built using the controller...

Why do you need joytokey? Mame supports it directly.

I am also using an xbox controller. Put quite a bit of work into perfecting various emulator's usage of it, particularly with regards to the analog and digital pads.

Logitech remote Dual Shock style controller. I forgot the exact name...

Since I'm using this for consoles also, everything is compact and easy to get to. It's a remote controller also, so I can sit away from the TV so I don't burn my eyes out.

10 buttons on the controller, 2 analog sticks that also function as buttons when pressed, and a digital D-Pad... gaming heaven!

I have used Jpac and Ipac 4 in my Sega Naomi Cab, but since it went back to my cab-dealer i now use a pair of Sega Dreamcast Arcade sticks modded to USB. I also have some X Box Controllers and i'm bulding a converter for Nes, Snes, SMS, Atari and so on... But i still have problems with my the Atmel-microchip and USB (One controller works, but not two more...). I also have a Windows MCE Remote, but the reciever its not connected to computers doing emulation or gaming.

Mostly for the escape button, but also for the mouse functionality. Mame works great, its some of the other emulators that need the extra help.
