gamepad problem

I can use my Gravis usb gamepad in mame32 but when I access Mame32 through gameex my gamepad no longer works. i can then exit gamex and launch mame32 independently and the gamepad works again. Any ideas? thanks.

Try going into GameEx config in the Input settings section and set enable gamepad/joystick to yes.

It is already enabled. Actually, The joystick does work when navigating gameex but once I launch the mame game, it no longer works.

Under Input Settings: Here's What I Have:

Enable Keyboard Direct Input - NO

Enable Gamepad/Joystick - Dont

Gamepad Device to us: "All Attached Devices"

Enable Custom Keyboard COntrols: Yes

Enable Custom Joystick Controls: No

Then install Pinnacle Game Profiler, Map Gameex to it, and then go to each emulator and map the ontrols set forth in each emulator to your Pinnacle Profile.

does the pinnacle profiler mess up the analog gamepad controls? If its mapped to the keyboard, how does it handle the analog movements in Mame?

So you can't use usb controllers for Mame when using gamex for a frontend without additional software?

I use a Playstation 2 adapter with gamex and mame, its USB and works for menus and games.

I use pinnacle for 3DO only.. doesn't effect my gameex at all with my usb stick in mame
